| App appeared that I didn't install Posted: 13 Jan 2020 07:57 AM PST I have a Nokia 7.1 and I've noticed an app in the app drawer called 'android.app.appdetailsactivity'. The icon is a dark green circle with the top of the android character's head. When I open it, it just goes to the app info page and the app package name is 'com.android.carrierconfig.atl.mccmnc23415'. Nothing else happens. I can find very little information about it online. | Audio not playing through usb or bluetooth Posted: 13 Jan 2020 07:05 AM PST Hey guys, I've had my note for a month now, when connected to usb, I get calls through my speakers but music plays through my phone. When I bluetooth connect it's the same deal. When I go to the bluetooth settings to turn audio on for my bluetooth device, the setting keeps turning itself off. | Posted: 13 Jan 2020 07:03 AM PST Whenever I get a notification, it turns my phone on a bit, where it shows just the time and a little icon of where the notification came from. Yet, when I turn it on, the notification is nowhere to be found. If I get a message, I literally have to go into the messages app to see what it was. And it also displays a "hidden" notification where I can only see it if I swipe down at the top of the screen, which defeats the purpose of a notification. I have a Samsung Motorola phone. | Issues downloading and extracting photos for ishare albums Posted: 13 Jan 2020 06:00 AM PST My work requires me to receive large amounts of photos at once and im having issues extracting them to a file. I have a S10 and receive photos from my boss maybe 125 at a time from his iphone in 1 ishare album. When I select all and download them no issues. When I go to extract the photos it will say 0 KB and ill have to re download them sometimes 2 or 3 times before it works. Is there an underlying reason for this? | .MP3 files going missing from SD card Posted: 13 Jan 2020 06:57 AM PST Just to preface this thread I'm a SysAdmin with many years working with technology. So I don't think I'm doing anything stupid but it wouldn't be the first time... Samsung S7, stock phone (not rooted) SD card, 128GB SanDisk formatted on the phone. I have quite a few .mp3 files I'd like to play from my phone during my commute, mostly audiobooks. There is an Android folder in the root of the SD card with a 'media' folder inside of it, so I assumed this folder would be a good location to place my .mp3 files. I copied the folders from my Windows PC to the media folder on the SD card, oddly I was prompted if I wanted to convert them (Windows 8.1), to which I said no to all. The files seem to have copied and I went on my way. The next morning in the car I see all of the folders but most of them are empty (both via VLC and File Manager for Samsung), I confirmed on my pc when I got to work that this was indeed the case. So I try to copy the files again, this time over a SD card reader and a Windows 10 PC. Same deal, I copy maybe 10 folders and once I'm done I have at least 4 or 5 of them empty (no mp3 files, the source clearly contained them and they were listed when the copy ran). Then I went so far as to go into the folder and copy the files in the folder to the SD card folder directly, I see the files in the folder, eject the phone, and then in file manager they are gone! I'm going to try a folder in the root of the SD today but figured I'd post here for another perspective. Is there a process that checks and removes files that are not compatible/ formatted properly? Pocketcast and Amazon prime have no problem saving to it, as well as Solid file explorer. But titanium backup sees it as read only. Odd since titanium is a root app (I'm rooted, obviously). Then i blocked notifications from my chrome browser and installed and Adblock for my Samsung internet browser and I still get them. How do I get rid of the popups. [link] [comments] |

Within the display settings there is an option to toggle the display mode between 'vivid' and 'normal'. Is anyone aware of a way to enable me to quick toggle between these with one tap without drilling down through menus? Ideally I'd like to be able to add a toggle to the quick settings on the notification shade - is it possible to do this, or otherwise to create a home screen shortcut of some sort? | Mobile Data can be turned off while phone locked. Posted: 13 Jan 2020 11:02 AM PST I remember in the previous versions of Android the Mobile Data could not be turned on/off when the phone was locked. I have a Samsung Note 9 here from Verizon (SM-N960U) with an issue ive never ran into before. Im running Android 9 at the newest version Verizon has pushed to me. I can give the full version info if needed but its like 30 characters long and I cant copy it so not gonna post it unless its needed. Basically, all of my folders are not showing their names unless I press and hold to go into selecting multiple mode, and then I can see any that I select but not the others still. Its easiest if I just show you a screenshot: clicky clicky It does that in every directory. I just realized if I change the view, the names show up again fine, just not in the view option shown it the screenshot. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 13 Jan 2020 10:39 AM PST So any time I buy new headphones the skip track function - usually press multifunction button twice - just rings the last person I spoke to. Even if the headphones are supposed to skip track. Is there anyway I can change this? Or alternatively set my volume handset button to do it? E.g. long press volume up to do next track. | Posted: 13 Jan 2020 10:32 AM PST Hello. I have replaced the glass/digitizer on my S8 along with the front camera. Now when I do the camera tests through #0# it says there are 0 cameras available when testing front or back. If I open the camera app it closes immediately and if I try using the flashlight it says it is in use by another application. Now I am quite comfortable with tech and troubleshooting but this problem is now past my knowledge.. I've tried everything under the sun from clearing app caches, wiping partitions, factory reset and reseating the physical connectors, safe mode, etc. Before the repair both cameras worked. During the repair i had to replace the front camera and when I did that immediately this issue appeared. Everything else from sensors to mics/speakers on the phone is tested and functioning. | Seriously delayed sending/receiving SMS Posted: 13 Jan 2020 10:19 AM PST Hi all, I'm on an unrooted Sprint Galaxy S10 and since I've gotten it about a month or two ago I've had a lot of instances (with seemingly no pattern) in which I either receive or send SMS messages with a substantial delay. For example, the other night some of my messages that I sent didn't arrive to the other party until 10 hours later. Other times I have had incoming messages show up 4+ hours after the other party sent them. Obviously this is rather distressing. So far the only step(s) I've taken is/are disabling -all- extra features such as: WiFi Calling, VOLTE, Android Messages extra features, etc... Any pointers? wtf is wrong [link] [comments] |

| Bluetooth device "connected" but still have to click "connect" Posted: 13 Jan 2020 03:43 AM PST Hi, I have a bluetooth related issue on my phone (Nokia 7.1, running Android 10). My phone finds the device (Samsung Watch Active 2) and it even says it is connected, but I have to click on it and than click on connect before there is an actual connection, like illustrated in the album in this link: https://imgur.com/a/IUC2qen . I have tried unpairing an re-pairing devices two times with no effect. I have tried playing around with an app "Bluetooth autoconnect" and have tried to do some things with the "Tasker" app but nothing seems to work. I'm a bit concerned though that if I drop my phone in the toilet or something and have to replace it then I would basically be locked out of my LastPass account. I could setup Google Authenticator on my new phone but I don't think it would be configured for my LastPass account. I'm needing to know what information I should write down from my LastPass Google Authenticator settings. Do I just need to write down the Private Key and keep that somewhere safe?
