Philips Android TV 55OLED854 - Thermometer icon on screen Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:23 AM PST On my new Philips TV, running Android TV, I have noticed today after a couple of weeks of normal functioning that while watching a cartoon streamed from a NAS (Network source) a thermometer icon was appearing on the top right corner of the screen. After a while it even started to flash (the upper red part). I get it, it must be saying that something is overheating. I checked the front (screen) and the back of the TV: nothing felt excessively hot, just a bit warm. The TV is not in a closet, there's flowing air all around. Besides switching off the TV (obvious) - is there anything I should do? What could be the cause? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Dec 2019 02:27 AM PST Hey, I had a problem with hdmi arc between couple of devices, so I decided to write philips support. So I did. They practically ignore me, last email I received was automatic reply that my case is "updated" Also, support web page is really messed up, smells like they don't want to be troubled. Maybe they acknowledge that philips Android TV is really, really filled with bugs. Who can help me to contact them, my jbl bar 5.1 have hdmi arc problems, simply saying, it turns on by itself over time. [link] [comments] |
After Pie update, some 30 fps videos jitter. Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:57 AM PST I have some videos I recorded using OBS studio that seem to jitter during motion on the Pie update. They play fine on Oreo 7.1 on my other box. Has anyone else seen this? [link] [comments] |
Can we please have a long press menu on YouTube? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:25 AM PST It really annoys me how to get into some menu settings it's way more difficult than it needs to be. If I'm browsing videos and I see one I want to watch later, it's almost 10 clicks to add it to my water mater playlist. Play video, across to more select add to playlist, select it then back and back again. Surely we should have a long press to pop up a menu instead? Or a button for menu etc? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Dec 2019 02:18 PM PST Looking to put together a travel media system that we can bring with us when going to places with limited tv/internet options. Ideally load up a hard drive, connect to an android tv box and hook up to a tv. Assuming this will work, what compact/portable/usb enabled android tv boxes will work best? [link] [comments] |
Android TV home screen overrides tv input media? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 11:19 AM PST Hi, I have a very infuriating problem with my TCL 55DC760. I got everything connected via a Marantz home theater reciever and a Logitech harmony one remote controller. My issue is that everytime i choose an activity on my remote, basically just switches the input on the reciever since the tv always has the same input, the tv ALWAYS displays the android tv home screen. Is there anyway to fix so the tv always chooses the input media instead of the home screen? When i check the input on the tv i can see that it is the correct input but the home screen overlays the input so i have to manually choose the input again. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Dec 2019 01:46 PM PST Hi everyone. I've been always using my desktop computer (not laptop) and a hdmi cable connected to my TV to watch movies and YouTube. Recently I bought a Xiaomi Mi Box and it's quite conformable but I realize that it's the same as I do with my pc. What do you think? Maybe I sell the mi box (for the same price I bought it so I don't lose money) or is it worth it although I have my pc next to it? Power consumption maybe is a thing to keep in mind but... Also I would save 50 euros Opinions? [link] [comments] |
