| Best Budget Phone Under 300 USD/EUR Posted: 19 Nov 2019 05:36 AM PST Hello, What in your opinion is the best budget phone on the market right now? I know ''best on the market'' depends on what is important for a person in a phone, so I will list the things that matter the most for me:
I dont care about a brand or flagships, I just care for the phone to get the job done. Thank you for your time! [link] [comments] |
| How come there are no games on phones that were on either the PS3 or Xbox 360? Posted: 19 Nov 2019 09:25 AM PST Phones and tablets have overtaken the specs those consoles had, why not sell them for the nostalgia? [link] [comments] |
| Android phone , iMessage on Facetime on No SIM phone Posted: 19 Nov 2019 10:53 AM PST My goal is to get an Android Phone (Pixel 3a specifically), but I have a problem. I currently have an iPhone 8. I want to pop out the sim card, and put it in my new Pixel 3a. I want the Pixel 3a to be my primary phone. This is the problem I need solved:I want iMessage and Facetime to work on my iPhone 8 Wifi only (without the SIM card). The reason: I want to use the iPhone 8 with iMessages and Facetime to be able to easily communicate with my children. My children both have iPhones. 1 is with cellular, and 1 is used as a Wi-Fi only device. Please help. [link] [comments] |

| Is it possible to have a reminder play a custom audio file? Posted: 18 Nov 2019 11:11 PM PST Hello all, I'm wondering if it's possible to set a reminder for a predetermined date/time and instead of a default ringtone or sound file, it would play an audio file? I think it would be neat to record an audio memo of you telling your future self what you needed to be reminded of at that future time. [link] [comments] |
| Tracking down invisible storage hogs Posted: 19 Nov 2019 11:47 AM PST Judging by the number of questions I've found about this on Android forums it's a common issue, so apologies in advance if it's been done to death. I'm trying to free up space in internal shared storage on my son's phone. The Android storage part of setting reports that 'Games' is using 5.3GB of space, but when I click on it it only shows one app installed using 6.35MB. I assume the rest is old cache files or orphaned data from apps that have been uninstalled, but I have no way of seeing it or getting rid of it. I've tried installing DiskUsage, but that will only show me usage on /storage/emulated/0 and I can't see a way to determine what's on internal storage and what's on the SD card. Any help gratefully received. [link] [comments] |

I was using it for a few weeks with no complaints, but the other day I noticed that the pattern I set was not working, luckily I had fingerprint authentication too but somehow the pattern got changed, I can't reset the phone or change and pattern settings with out the pattern. Any help would be greatly appreciated Edit: no apps have administrator privilege [link] [comments] |
| LG G7 Thin Q: how to set to only update system/apps when on wifi Posted: 19 Nov 2019 07:09 AM PST I thought the default setting on this phone (just got it last week) was to only update apps or system elements when connected to wifi. WRONG. I just learned the hard way that's not the default; it just ate up 3 GB auto-updating the OS using my data, not connected to wifi. I've looked through Settings and I can't figure out where to indicate that I only want updates to occur when connected to wifi. Can you help me? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Is there a gallery app that sorts albums in a list instead of a grid? Posted: 19 Nov 2019 10:34 AM PST I'm looking for something similar to what Huawei has in EMUI 8, something like this: http://imgur.com/a/tzGIeOU All apps I've looked at so far use the grid layout. I find the grids confusing and hard to navigate. I don't care if the app is paid or free, I don't care about any other features either. I have a Motorola One Zoom if that helps somehow. | How can I record a phone conversation while having wired headphones plugged in? Posted: 19 Nov 2019 10:13 AM PST I'm currently looking for work, and many of my interviews start out as phone interviews. Part of my process involves going back over the interviews I have and taking thorough notes so if I come in for an in person interview, I have all the facts that might have gotten missed because the interviewer was talking fast and I didn't catch something the first time. I like to have wired headphones in while talking on the phone, (I don't need bluetooth) it makes it more clear for me to hear the other person talking. Every app I've used isn't able to record a conversation when something is plugged in. Does anyone know of an app that works around this, or some features I can use that will allow for a conversation to be recorded while I have headphones in? [link] [comments] |

| Images are saving to a weird folder in my SD card Posted: 18 Nov 2019 11:25 PM PST Whenever I download images from Chrome, it's somehow started to save to an app data folder and I can't change the path. It used to save to a downloads folder but since Chrome updated, it changed the path. Does anyone know a way to edit the folder path? It's annoying because the saved pictures doesn't sync up with any of my photo or gallery apps and I have to dig deep into File Manager to move the files... [link] [comments] |
| LG V20 update to Oreo, now high battery use and sluggish performance Posted: 19 Nov 2019 09:54 AM PST LG V20 - AT&T - Updated android from Nougat to Oreo 8.0, the most recent version available for my phone. Battery life decreased substantially immediately after update and phone often warm to the touch indicating high drain. At the end of a typical day I usually had 60-75% battery left, now 20-35%. Checked usage stats, roughly 2/3 of all usage by "Android System", "Android OS", "Phone Idle", and "Google Play Services". All other apps are contributing what they normally do, so it looks like it's the OS that is the problem, not an app. Additionally, the phone has been operating more intermittently sluggish, especially playing videos which are slow to load and sometimes laggy. I use tinycore to monitor CPU activity, it's running higher than previously for basic tasks and sometimes for no apparent reason at all. I've tried restarting the phone multiple times, updating all apps, clearing the cache, deleting unused apps, etc. No change. My last resort now is to reset the phone to factory settings. Obviously I'd rather not do this. Any other advice? [link] [comments] |
| Android lock screen question. 4 Squiggly lines Posted: 19 Nov 2019 09:53 AM PST I can't figure out on my Android lock screen . It shows 4 Squiggly lines to the left of the temp. | Posted: 19 Nov 2019 05:48 AM PST I'm looking for a newer phone for my mom than her current phone. She currently has a Galaxy S4 on verizon and its having many issues. At this point I want her to just upgrade to a newer phone but I don't want her to pay for a brand new device from verizon. What phones would be good for her? She only goes on facebook, plays a simple slot game, text, call, web browse, etc. super simple things that does not require much in terms of power. If theres anything i would want the device to have either 16 Gb or 32 Gb of storage and a Micro SD card slot. [link] [comments] |
| Help moving data from iPhone to Android Posted: 19 Nov 2019 08:41 AM PST Hi. I am moving from iPhone to Android. What is the best way to move all the data including call logs and messages from iPhone to OnePlus 7pro. Thanks [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Nov 2019 08:08 AM PST Just a few days ago some of my messages went from their typical green color to a blue, the same blue as iMessages, and now have read receipts. I did not change any of my settings or anything. Any idea of how this got turned on and why it's only with certain contacts? I have a Galaxy S9, not sure if that matters or not. Edit: It appears there is a "Send as chat message" choice available in the options of these message chains that are now blue. However, I am still confused why it's only available with certain contacts? [link] [comments] |
| Why can Google Photos play a video that every other video player cannot? Posted: 19 Nov 2019 08:05 AM PST I have a video that will only play in Google Photos or in my "Free Adblock Browser". It will not play in the native android video player, Kodi, VLC Player, MX player, and a few others. It is a .MP4 file. Why is that? Am I missing an update or codec? Any thoughts or insight will be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
| Pixel 2 randomly shows no icon for apps Posted: 19 Nov 2019 07:56 AM PST When I click to see what apps are open in the background, randomly an app will lose it's icon and it'll keep doing it until I close the app over 10 times. Any idea why? [link] [comments] |
| When data is offline RCS does not fallback to SMS Posted: 19 Nov 2019 07:53 AM PST Obviously RCS requires a data connection but the messages app does not seem to fall back to SMS mode then the recipient is offline. I hate to point out apple as doing things right but iMessage knows if the recipient is offline and sends SMS instead. I recently turned on RCS for me and the missus but she turns her data off a lot so now when I message her she doesn't get the it until she enables her data again. Also I've noticed that we don't see each other Typing... I'm guessing there is something weird somewhere. I'm using a oneplus 6t and she is using a galaxy s8. We are both on the Three network (UK). Either way this is something that needs to work if we expect RCS to be a useful replacement unless anyone has a solution now? [link] [comments] |
