    [REQUEST] Turn-based strategy games

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 12:29 PM PDT

Hey all! I really enjoy turn-based strategy games but i could never stick with one. Summoners war was one of my favourites but the IAP were crazy and the amount of grind for really low changes were too much for me.

So i guess i am looking for a turn based strategy game that can be played casually and also reward you if you put more time into it.

I prefer online, the communities, people, clans, guilds, etc. are a very fun aspect of online games.

The IAP sadly is a big part for mobile online games, so i can tolerate it, but if it is over the top i will very likely lose interest.

I really dont have any other notes. Suggest me your favourite turn based strategy games!

Non-roguelike version of Magic Survival / Vampire Survivors? (Games like Vamp Lord of Blood)

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 11:44 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Looking for a game that has similar moment-to-moment gameplay as games like Magic Survival and Vampire Survivors:

Portrait mode, "automated" casting and shooting, active movement around enemies. The huge difference is I want to avoid the overall gameplay loop of roguelite/like games. I want permanent progression of stats/skills/etc.

A similar game is Vamp - Lord of Blood and it's exactly what I'm looking for but with a bit too much focus on continuous micro transactions.

Does anyone remember this rhythm-fighting game?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 07:08 PM PDT

It has a lot of Japanese yokai and maybe the main character was a flute wielding ninja? Anyone remember the title of the game? It's rather old, but definitely on mobile. Could be an iOS game even, can't remember.

Games withouth daily log in rewards

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 07:12 PM PDT

Hi! I wonder if there are any good hero collector games, RPG or strategy games that doesnt have log in rewards or log in streaks. Something that I may play whenever and dont feel that I missing out if someday I dont log in...
I realise that there may be many like that but I guess that they aren't Free to Play, so If they are free it would be great... Dont care if they have in app purchases.

Thanks in advance to anyone who cares to share!

Arcade-y games (score-chasing, easy to play hard to master) that aren't ports or actually made for touch screen?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 05:56 PM PDT

    • games with simple gameplay but actually pretty hard to master

    • preferably endless gameplay / score-chasing, but level-based is okay too

    • not a port of PC games or other platforms, the game is actually optimized or built with touch-screen in mind, so... maybe no virtual controller?

    Does anyone remember EPIC HEARTS?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 05:39 PM PDT

I'm trying to find a way to play this old game, though I guess it's impossible because it has to download some data before starting. Does anyone have an old phone that still has this game? Mind if you copy some files from that phone so I can get the game playable? If you do so, I'll try my best to reward, maybe gifting a steam game or etc. Thanks.

My thoughts on the Razer Kishi v2

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 04:48 PM PDT

I use my trusty Kishi v1 every day for a few different Android games (RL Sideswipe mainly) and for moonlight streaming. It has its own issues like occasionally disconnecting if the phone fit isn't tight enough, mushy buttons, and weird trigger friction. Nonetheless, I have tried different console controllers with phone clips and it never felt very comfortable no matter how much adjustment I made.

I bought the v2 Kishi expecting it to address some of these concerns. The first thing I noticed is that my phone (pixel 4a) ain't gonna fit. I popped out the rubber inserts and now it just makes it with the case on. However, the usb-c plug isn't quite long enough to make the connection to the phone. This isn't a big case, just a cheap thin TPU one with a plastic shell on the back. Sucks because I am able to keep the case on in the v1 with the rubber inserts removed. After removing the case and plugging the phone back in (which is a bit trickier with the new spring loaded 'backbone' but not a big deal) I notice the analog sticks. Oh God, what have they done? The range of motion is so small and noticeably worse for aiming in FPS games like Dead Trigger. Do people actually prefer these things?

The ergonomics feel like a step up from the v1 although the right stick placement feels a tad lower to me which is awkward but I'm sure I would adjust to. The build quality feels more solid and refined but the little backbone thing is a concern. It seems like it could be broken easily but time will tell. One of the best things about the v1 is that it fits in my pocket and the water bottle holder thing in my work bag with ease. I figured the v2 wouldn't be so compact because of the backbone and it most certainly is not. Definitely not pocketable unless you are wearing jncos or cargo shorts ala 1997.

Overall I want to like it and it's probably great if you aren't playing games where stick dexterity is critical, but at this point, the only reason I hesitate to return it is paying shipping to send it back to Razer.

Curious what everyone else thinks of it? Has it grown on you?

    game like travian

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 09:12 AM PDT

Do you know a game like travian?

I do enjoy playing clash of clans, but the thing is missing about clash of clans is the world.

I played a game similar to travian for browser. i started in a village and then after some improvement of my city, i started to attack the nearest city. you can attack, opening the map and selecting the city around you. So you feel physically in the world. then eventually i joined a small clan, where we talk to each other in the chat and decide who to attack next to increase our clan. When you conquer a city, you can capture the city and amke it yours. so eventually you will keep increase your number of city you control and the resource it produces.

So it was really cool, having this group, decide who attack and where to expand the clan territory.

Also, in the server i was playing there were 2 major clan:

    1. a clan with just few members but they are really strong. they have multiple villages under their control
    2. a clan with the most number of members. they allow everyone to join. Even if you are new, they let you join their clan to expand their terrotory

So basically there was a continue war between this two major clan.

After the summer started, no one played anymore.

But what about right now? is there a game that match my story?

Best app for mirroring Android screen to PC for gaming?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 08:24 AM PDT

I tried using Mirroid but I get a green screen but it seems like it doesn't work on Android 12. I just tried MirrorTo but the free version doesn't let me control the screen or set keybindings. I just want a good mirror that allows me to set keybindings for gaming and ideally is free. I have a Samsung S20+. ApowerMirror looks good but cost money. Was also looking at Wormhole or TC Games but both also cost money.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 09:20 AM PDT

I've played many top down survival games like last day on earth, but it's not quite the one I've been looking for. You can recommend games like fallout too.

    Great novel game for men?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 08:56 AM PDT

I don't mind if you can pick your gender either.

But most novel games seem to be about a woman surrounded by men. I would like some fun novel game suggestions for myself.

Preferably a game that changes almost every time you start again. For example if you followed specific person would change the whole story.

    Thank you for the help!

Looking for controller or mount recommendations.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2022 11:18 AM PDT

I'm looking for a quality (ideally) controller or mount for gaming with my phone.

I also use different emulators, with DS and 3DS among them, so I'm looking for something that will let me use my phone in landscape AND portrait. This is a big sticking point.

Figure I would ask here to see if there were any recommendations.

Controller or mount. Also, I've had a bunch of cheap 3rd party controllers (shocking, right?) crap out on me, so I'm also looking for quality especially in relation to controllers.
