- So far, the Sony (2021 Bravia) Google TV has been lame AF. Basically every television program or movie I search for is listed as only available on Google Play, even when it is available on several of the streaming services I subscribe to. Am I taking crazy pills? Why is it so fragmented?

AndroidTV Stick/Box that has PVR? Posted: 11 Nov 2021 06:29 AM PST I think I may have spotted a gap in the market. AndroidTV now has a live channels app which allows people to watch live tv but none of the marketing leading hardware has a built in tuner or expandable storage. Obviously FireTV and NVidia Shield. Does anyone know of any hardware that runs Android TV with a tuner and hard drive for storing shows? Ive seen the Humax Aura but it does not have Netflix! [link] [comments]
Google TV not loading some movies? Just spinning wheel... Posted: 11 Nov 2021 06:45 AM PST Anyone having issues getting movies to play on Google TV? For some movies that I've had on my account for years it just spins without starting the movie. I can watch them on my phone or through other services on Google TV like HBO, but the Google TV versions won't load. It started yesterday and still happening today. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Nov 2021 04:08 PM PST I had an app for Android TV, a file manager I think it was, that had a one click button to close all apps. But I had to factory reset my device and now I can't remember what that app was. I've installed a bunch of file managers from the play store but can't find one with that feature Does anyone know the app that I'm talking about, or know one that does the same as? Thanks [link] [comments]

Apple TV app audio sync is TERRIBLE on GoogleTV Posted: 10 Nov 2021 10:11 AM PST I recently bought a new TV that has GoogleTV (Sony X90J). I have my receiver connected via eARC and that is working perfectly for all the native TV apps, except Apple TV. Today I tried playing a movie from my purchase collection in the Apple TV app and there was significant audio sync problems. Every time I paused and played again, the sync would be off by a different amount. To reiterate, I have not had this issue streaming from Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, or Youtube. I'm hoping that this is just a setting problem or something. Can anybody else share if they have had a similar experience with the Apple TV app on GoogleTV? [link] [comments]

Ads / Recommendations on Home Screen (GoogleTV) Posted: 10 Nov 2021 12:38 PM PST Hi, I have a Sony A80J which I bought recently. First thing I did was set it to apps only mode as I don't want full screen sized ads for Apple TV. It was fine, until last night. The ads have come back despite being in apps only mode. I tried turning apps only mode off, restarting, then turning it back on again, no luck. How can I get rid of them? I tried searching and I found talk of sideloading software(?), but I'm not sure about doing that as I don't want to void my warranty Thank you [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Nov 2021 08:46 AM PST I guarantee I will get downvoted for this but I really want to share my experience using these garbage TVs. Context. I do not own one. I am IT in an organization that has multiple Bravia TVs. I own a $200 TV I bought off Amazon 4 years ago. So let's get into the TV aspect. The video is not good enough for the price. These are very expensive TVs. The video is literally no better than my $200 Chinese TV. It is higher resolution; but, panel quality matters far more. It's why the iPhone XR and 11 have displays that look so good despite being 750p. I know it's not OLED technology but you can get better quality in an LCD. My 2015 Macbook Pro has a much nicer display than these Bravia TVs. In particular, none of these Bravia TVs can generate blacks well. Blacks are grey and smudged out. The colors are also very dull. Nothing pops out. Everything constantly looks smudged when connected to a PC. The audio is pretty good, much better than my personal TV's audio; but, I use a soundbar and my $150 soundbar sounds miles better. Keep in mind the Bravia TVs I am talking about all cost well over $2000. What's also very important in a TV is performance. When I turn my TV on at home, it turns on. No questions asked. I turn it on and it works. The Bravia TVs have Android and it SUCKS. They are so slow. It takes a good 5-10 seconds to turn the TV on and then takes forever to do basic things. The settings are all over the place. I turned on Pro mode on one of the Bravia's, fw-75bz40h, to check it out and it actually locked me out of the settings menu, so that the only way I could revert to normal mode is with a factory reset. Now here's the thing. I want you to look at the instructional manual for the Sony Bravia FW-75bz40h https://www.manualslib.com/manual/2069287/Sony-Bravia-Fw-85bz40h.html#manual Do you see anywhere inside this instruction manual about factory resetting the TV? No, you won't find it. I had to look at a separate TV's instruction manual to learn how to factory reset the TV. I am glad I was able to discover all of these flaws at work as I will never purchase a Sony Bravia TV. They seem like TVs for businesses that don't have the eye or time to research. These are subpart TV's being sold for more than twice what they're actually worth. [link] [comments] |
