[REQUEST] Game like Beatstar without the ludicrous mtx?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2021 09:21 AM PDT

I recently downloaded it and I liked the casual feel to it, but I hate how suffocating the microtransaction loop is. Have to wait 2 hours to open a box to get cards for maybe a genre you'd like and you can only have three boxes at a time and any you earn after are forfeit? Really? Not to mention how the "gems" are required to keep playing a song after a single mistake and also the gems happen to be the currency you use to unlock boxes.

    • I don't care about the licensed songs. While it's neat that Beatstar has such a big collection of popular songs, it's not necessary.

    • Emphasis on casual. Looking around for other rhythm games and some of the gameplay is just too complex and the difficulty ramps up too quickly for my tastes.

    • Don't care if it's paid. Would rather pay for a full game than "free" but mtx-riddled.

[REQUEST] Top down shooter-esque game recommendation? Like Guardian Tales

    Quick, easy-to-learn two-player android game?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2021 06:09 PM PDT

My friend is in a different state and we want to video chat (Whatsapp?) while playing games against each other on our phones. What are some simple, quick two-player game apps we could download to play against each other and only against each other? No word games, please.

    Game redomendation-Co-op, turn based, strategy

    Posted: 02 Nov 2021 04:04 PM PDT

My brother and I used to play games together all the time, but now that he has a young kid, we have kinda stopped. I'd like a turn based, mobile co op game that he can play between naps, etc. Ideally something really strategic. Thanks in advance!

Any good one-handed games with story or level progression?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2021 03:39 PM PDT

Any genre goes, preferred portrait mode

I recently picked back up dragalia lost and I LOVE that it can be played one-handed. I finished the whole story mode so far and I'm looking for some other stuff to play. Examples of what games like this I played:

    • Bullet Boy
    • World Flipper
    • Geometry dash - mostly because of premade gauntlets and map packs
    • Fancade - the main games
    • Monument Valley
    • Dash quest heroes
    • Early Worm

Grindy non-gacha game with some PvP features

    Posted: 02 Nov 2021 11:07 PM PDT

    Hello.

I like idle/semi-idle/grindy games that are oriented towards daily farming routines but not heavily oriented towards gacha (via crates opening for "SSR Heroes" and such).

Two examples I can think of are Crush Them All and Tap Titans, which let you farm every day without the need to buy some op hero. Unfortunately, I find tap titans to be extremely boring and without any interesting pvp aspect. Crush Them All however is really fine, plus it's portrait mode so it basically fits in what I'm looking for.

Do you know similar games that I could add to my library ?

Games like Fairy Town or Sunrise Village, but better?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2021 06:27 PM PDT

Hey folks! I really enjoy playing games like Fairy Town and Sunrise Village in spare my bits of time. The only things I dislike are, naturally, that energy runs out sooo fast and that iaps are pushed so hard (I'm strictly f2p with mobile games!). Are there any of these little exploration/village building games that are a bit better in these respects?

Thanks so much for any recs!

Mobile Suit Gundam:Bonds of the Battlefield

Hey guys. New to the sub. Looking to see if there are any games similar similar to the Japanese arcade game titled above. I know that an exact replication would be impossible, but if anybody had any experience with the POD game and knew of anything with a similar feel, I would love some insight.
