Developers: Beware of Imperia Online (Cautionary tale from the game "Crush Them All"

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 09:44 AM PST

TL;DR: Imperia Online purchased Crush Them All, turns it into a desperate cash-cow, a buggy mess, and an outraged community of dedicated fans.

Imperia Online JSC is a Bulgarian publishing company that recently purchased Crush them All (CTA).

CTA is a game that seems simple on the surface, but evolves into a game focused on collecting and upgrading heroes, building PvP teams, engaging in community guild wars, and strategizing events with your guildmates. The strategy and cooperating is extremely deep and was once one of the friendlier F2P games on the market.

For context, I have played CTA for 3 years and am in a highly competitive guild. Regardless of what guild you're in, the game has an AMAZING community that spends hours creating guides, wikis, and many other organizational tools. It is a small and VERY dedicated community. I spend many hours every week playing the game, strategizing with guild-mates, and chatting with others. The game was updated regularly and celebrated by it's players.

When Imperia Online purchased the game over the summer, issues started to crop up on a nearly weekly basis.

    • Selling the in-game currency (Flooz) in bundles 3x the size, and then a week later increasing it to 4x. This type of volume sale was unheard of prior. This led to bans and warnings for anyone refunding their 3x for wanting to get a better value during a 4x sale.

    • Selling the main upgrade resource in the game, "Star Shards", for money. Previously this was only available by participating in the game activities. This allowed whales to grow extremely dominant now that they had access to this resource for money.

    • Selling items that were broken and who's value would reset every day (blitz+arena tickets).

    • Updates to the balance of the game before any announcements in-game or on discord

    • HEAVILY pushing RMT sales, often including so many at a time that the in-game UI couldn't fit it all on the screen. The game went from having the one occasional special offer to having 10+ consistently running at the same time. I cannot stress this enough -- the amount of ongoing offers is nauseating.

    • Promising content updates and delivering nothing except an already-existing hero in the game files, with no evidence of content planned for the future.

    • Each hero can be upgraded to 7-star. They recently announced they would add an 8th star, which doubles (or triples) the strength of heroes. While they promised they would give medals towards upgrading existing heroes to 8-star, these medals were sent too early (before the update was live) and everyone who opened their mail to redeem these medals were instead given low-value "legendary coins" since the medals could not be applied to heroes. No compensation is being made.

I absolutely love this game and it's community. I've made some amazing friends over the years of playing. It is very sad how one profit-driven company has completely burnt down a community and ruined the hobby of thousands of die-hard fans.

Be aware that if you are playing a game and Imperia Online is negotiating a takeover, it is the death-knell of the game.

EDIT: It's been pointed out that Stillfront Group acquired CTA and delegated the future of the game to Imperia Online.

    Gamesir App always restarting?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 02:20 PM PST

I'm using the Gamesir X2 and the Gamesir App for keymapping. I've noticed even after I exit the app and force stop it, it will just randomly restart by itself. Has this happened to anyone?

Request: story based, not childish, not too complex, with time to read and decide + russian language support.

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 08:47 AM PST

    Hi,

I would like to find a game that is :

    • story oriented / dialog oriented
    • no action = slow paced game, not time pressure
    • text / dialogs should be not too complicated (but not too childish also)
    • let me read the text dialog at ease (= text/dialog does not move on until I press a button)
    • not too much jargon/ specific lore vocabulary (I guess it means not much fantasy)

    • has Russian language

A good example I played (on pc) was Coffee Talk.

I played Sims, sims city and such simulation games.

But I'd really like some dialog oriented kind of games.

A visual novel could be good .

The idea is that I am learning russian language and found that games like that are amazing to rack up vocabulary

    Thanks a lot !

Top down zombie/virus outbreak game with storyline

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 08:22 AM PST

I'm looking for a game that I played a while ago, it was a top down game with a virus outbreak storyline. There was not a lot of shooting, but relied mainly on crafting. Each 'level' you progressed you would unlock more resources to collect and new crafting. That's all I can remember, hope you guys can find/recommend a similar game.

    Country based ratings are bad.

    Posted: 21 Nov 2021 12:38 AM PST

The old rating system was much better. A lot of games dont have any rating now. How was i supposed to know if the game is good or bad. Google should undo this change imo.

Hollow Knight is the final crossover revealed for the update

    Posted: 21 Nov 2021 11:09 AM PST

In a new update 'Everyone is Here,' Dead Cells intends to add a Hollow Knight crossover in the form of the Hollow Knight's weapon. As previously stated, Hollow Knight is the final crossover for the update. Hollow Knight is a Metroidvania action game similar to Dead Cells, however, it lacks the roguelike elements of the former and instead plays like a typical action platformer.

LF Asynchronous Game to play with friends

    Posted: 21 Nov 2021 08:23 AM PST

We are 4 friends looking for:

    • A game we can individually play while procrastinating on chores/work 😛
    • a game that allows us to somehow collaborate or work together, or even just see each other's progress (e.g. send "resources")
    • cross iOS and Android
    • casual

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

P.S. I've read historical posts and most games suggested require everyone to be online at the same time, which is why I made this post!

    Xbox One Wireless Connections

    Posted: 21 Nov 2021 03:27 PM PST

So I've got an xbox one wireless controller and it connects just fine but will randomly loose Connection, blink, then reconnect constantly on a very random basis. I've done all the troubleshooting, I've used new controllers, and different devices yet it always seems to happen with all of them. Can someone help me understand what's going on? Is it a software or hardware thing? The controller is always "connected" to bluetooth however my ability to use it is constantly interrupted by it disconnecting and reconnecting. I really want to know if anyone else has experienced this and what yall think about it (it seems to be a common occurrence online however it's always information regarding PC use not mobile use) Thank you for any input!
