| Posted: 03 Aug 2021 06:56 AM PDT I have a Sony Bravia with android tv that was working fine. I moved and needed to put the tv in storage for a month. After setting it up in my new house I turned the tv on and just had a black screen. I performed the forced factory reset and that seemed to work. However, I'm now stuck in an endless loop during the setup process. I am able to connect to the internet, then login to my Google account but at that point I get caught in the loop and am not able to move forward. If I try to skip those two steps it doesn't matter, still stuck in the loop. Connecting by LAN was no help either. Still in the loop. This feels like a software glitch, is there support out there to help with an issue like this? Appreciate any help in advance. [link] [comments] | ||

| Which version of Discovery+ do other people have on Android TV (UK) Posted: 03 Aug 2021 05:45 AM PDT Hello. I have contacted Discovery about 4 times on this now over the past few months as my Discovery+ app on Android TV in the UK does not play HD video, yet if I cast to the same device (I am using a CCwGTV), it does play in HD. It also plays in HD on my Samsung TV (Tizen). I have tried on 3 separate CCwGTVs, and all have the same issue. What I have noticed, though, is, whilst my Discovery+ phone app gets updated all the time, my Android TV version is on 2.1.0, and was last updated on January 21st. Disco+ help only get me so far, and by the time they actually understand the issue, they stop responding. My question is for UK people (as if I believe the app is different in different countries). | Posted: 02 Aug 2021 02:07 PM PDT Unfortunately, SmartTube is now choppy and blinking in all my Mi Boxes, forcing me to abandon it and use SmartTube Next and there's some things that are really bugging me. SmartTube Next doesn't save my search history, in the old app I only need to type a few letters before finding some old query. I use both apps not signed on, maybe that's the problem. The new player menu is really bad: when you bring it up the play/pause button is the one active, but it's not highlighted at first, only after it's pressed. The repeat/keep playing button is always red. Also the channel button is hidden in the middle and doesn't use the channel's icon. I couldn't find a way to set a default resolution, I like to keep it as 720p change it up on a video basis. Maybe some of these things are fixable and I'm doing something wrong, would like some ideas from other users. [link] [comments] | ||

| Android TV not finding wifi anymore Posted: 02 Aug 2021 12:43 PM PDT Hello, I'll begin with some information that's relevant to the problem. I bought my android tv (a Hitachi) about 3/4 weeks ago. everything worked, connected to my wifi, etc etc. Went on vacation for a week and came home today, TV was disconnected from the Wifi. It still appeared as available, but when trying to connect it, it would say "wifi network not found". I forgot the connection and set it up again, but got the same result. Unplugged and plugged the router, still same result. After that, just turned off my tv's WiFi and back on, and now it can't find any wifi. not mine, but it doesn't show my neighbor's wifi connections either. Reset the router but nothing happened. Does anyone know what to do? can't do anything on it now since almost every app requires an internet connection :/ [link] [comments] | ||

| Help me find a good 4K USB3 player? Posted: 02 Aug 2021 11:28 AM PDT No internet where it's going to be used. The generic Android players on Amazon don't seem to have consistently good ratings. I'm buying something because the Sony 65XBR950G just doesn't have enough power to deal with higher bit rate audio when higher bit rate video (4k) is being played. Some movies it's fine. Others it's just not working out. Again no internet where it's going to be used. I'd prefer to stay under $100, or else I'd get a Shield. Any advice? Thank you! [link] [comments] | ||

Whenever I try it just says "pending" indefinitely. I've searched online for solutions, most of which say to delete the cache from Google play/play services/download manager or uninstall the updates, neither of which have worked. The TV is brand new and has plenty of storage space, any ideas on how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
