Posted: 24 Aug 2021 11:39 AM PDT Before anyone asks I have searched for a solution to this, cleared all cache files and even rebuilt the tablet from scratch and reinstalled all applications.. I'm starting to run low on ideas as no application seems to show what exactly is taking all the space. Tablet is samsung galaxy tab active 2. Model SM-T395. I have installed several file manager applications but found File Manager + to be more useful but sadly still not enough.. this shows 14.88GB out of 16GB is being used 14.85 of which is by the 'other' folder. There is 3.7GB worth of apps but nothing that should be storing massive cache files as far as I'm aware.. Appreciate this is a common and tedious problem but any suggestions or experiences with better apps would be appreciated.. thank you. [link] [comments] |

Long time ago, I did download an app to auto generate and add .nomedia files in my folders because I was trying to solve a different problem (I wanted to prevent my gallery from automatically indexing thousands of thumbnails from my audiobook collection in the SD card which made it difficult to find my actual pictures, but that was unsuccessful) — but I deleted that app long time ago. | How to completely mute a specific App? Posted: 24 Aug 2021 09:52 AM PDT Hi I have an app called Open Phone for my business phone line. However I have employees who handle all the business calls. I just have the app so I can occasionally check how the employees are working, if we have any missed calls or text messages, etc. So basically, I want this app to be completely muted and not ring my phone when a customer calls, or notify me if we get a new text etc. I have already turned off all notification settings for this app on Android, and yes almost everything is muted except customer calls. I still get a ring when a customer calls (which is like every 10 minutes). I have temporarily resolved this by just muting my phones sound settings for all rings but now the problem is I don't hear any ring for my own personal phone calls. So is there a way for me to completely mute or block the privilege's of a specific app to make any noise whatsoever. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 24 Aug 2021 12:26 PM PDT So I had a security update today pushed to my Android 11 phone and afterwards I immediately noticed I could not get two apps to use the mic at the same time just like I have been doing since forever. I need to use an audio recorder alongside a pitch-monitoring app which I do to compose some music ideas, both need to access the microphone at the same time, but if I switch from the recorder (runs in the background) to the pitch-monitor then the recording goes silent, and if I try to use the "split screen" or whatever you call it with both apps open at the same time on each side of the screen then the recorder gets the microphone audio but the pitch monitor doesn't work. I am pretty sure it was the update to the system because I was doing it today before the update, recording audio while using the pitch-monitor in real time, and now just after updating it doesn't work anymore. Is there any way I can fix this? Went to check the permissions and there is only the option to allow access to the mic during app usage, which is toggled on for both apps. | Posted: 24 Aug 2021 11:42 AM PDT I use several languages on my cellphone, mainly portuguese, English and Italian, and yesterday I noticed my Italian keyboard had several predictions in English, and when I tried another language that I had downloaded (and never used) it still had English predictions as well as portuguese ones, but my "Multilanguage Text Prediction" option is already deactivated, how do I fix it so only predictions of that language appear? Everything went smoothly until it came down to transferring over my Google Authenticator app.. my old phone has only half of the screen working, thus it's impossible for me to scan the QR code to transfer it to my new phone. Taking a screenshot is also not possible and remotely controlling the phone with PC/new phone also doesn't show any content inside Google Authenticator. | Wifi captive portal keeps closing Posted: 24 Aug 2021 07:14 AM PDT For ages now, I've had issues signing into Wi-Fi networks that involve a captive portal, as when I open it, it closes after a few seconds no matter what I do. Even if I don't open it, the network still just keeps connecting and disconnecting every couple of seconds. It's super annoying and I don't have unlimited data so it kind of sucks. Posted: 24 Aug 2021 05:59 AM PDT photo I open a tab on google chrome app and when i go to see my tabs, instead of the usual globe icon or the "G" icon for doing searches on google, it's displaying the google drive icon even while im browsing in anonymous. Is this just a bug or should i be worried about some hack/virus on my phone.
