Is there a way of making quick sharing options more meaningful or useful? Posted: 06 Aug 2021 09:28 AM PDT When using the sharing feature, for example sharing images from the Gallery app, a line of "recommend contacts and apps" appears above the grid of apps to otherwise share images to. Frequently, these options seem randomly generated, instead of being based on recent or frequent contacts. For example, in this image: https://imgur.com/a/o9mXsgS 1) share to Google Drive. This is fine, but I don't often upload content from my phone to my Drive in the first place. 2) someone I have not had contact with since 2013 but still have as a friend on Facebook. 3) someone I have not had contact with since 2014 but still have as a friend on Facebook. 4) literally an email address from a phishing scam email received and deleted months ago. It goes without saying that this list is pure garbage. My question is: can I customize these options to contain people I actually talk to and share content with? [link] [comments] |
How to turn off Notification Vibration on a Samsung Galaxy A72 (One UI 3.1) Posted: 06 Aug 2021 08:40 AM PDT Title. I've just gotten my new phone and it's been driving me mad. I absolutely hate getting random vibrations from every little notification or pop-up in the system, and I've tried everything there is to turn them off: I checked off every singly vibration option in the settings, put the vibration intensity slider to 0, nothing. There is no "none" option under "Notification Vibration Pattern", and you can't even turn it off for every app individually in the settings, nor in the apps themselves. [link] [comments] |

I tried what everyone would to factory reset it but I get sent to this screen "fastboot mode" here is a link to a video where I kinda explain the whole thing https://youtu.be/iw815So4v6o [link] [comments] |

Issue loading/playing videos on Samsung galaxy a50 Posted: 06 Aug 2021 11:49 AM PDT I have a screen recording of a family member on FaceTime who recently passed. I used an app called Mobizen and I have tried to open it on gallery and also in this app. I'm given the error "failed to play video an unknown error has occurred". I checked on the files on my phone, it's showing that there are 0bytes and that the video is also 0mins long, obviously not true. I am unsure what software I am running on this phone as I don't use it as my main phone. If anyone would be able to give me some pointers I'd be so grateful. [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to lock the numpad on the Google Keyboard Posted: 06 Aug 2021 08:00 AM PDT I have a Pixel 4 and I'm doing simple data entry on Google Sheets using the default keyboard. I like to use the numpad keyboard but whenever I press the enter key to switch to another cell, the numpad keyboard goes back to the QWERTY. Is there a way to lock it so it stops switching? Samsung A51 - Charging Thing Pops Up but Won't Charge... Posted: 06 Aug 2021 11:30 AM PDT Hey all,I got this phone about a year ago. Was working fine until just recently. I plugged it in and it kept flashing up the "charging" screen and beeping, but then stopping and then flashing/beeping again. Here's a list of what I have tried with no success:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At this point, my phone is at 24% and it appears that once it reaches 0 it will never again turn on. I could try to flash the firmware. But at this point my primary concern is fully backing up my phone prior to the inevitable death of this phone. Is backing up my samsung device to my SD card the best option here with limited time? I am in the process of doing this now. I am guessing there is a physical issue with my charging port, and this phone has been babied. I am not too pleased. I made the switch from Apple many years ago and would prefer to stay Android but I am finding increasingly that these phones struggle to last a couple of years. My LG G7 One also had issues with the charging port after a couple of years, but this phone hasn't even lasted a full year. Should I stick with google? I do prefer stock Android. I want to stay with the android ecosystem, but so far I have struggled to find quality hardware. No scratches, no drops, this phone is in mint condition. The hardware appears to be faulty here and I am not sure what to do. I don't want to buy a $1500 phone. Surely, I don't need to spend that sort of money to get something that won't break within a year? It seems ridiculous. I appreciate any tips people may have for reviving this phone, and failing that, what Android hardware that doesn't cost a fortune is worth looking at. I am a student and really would prefer not to shell out a ton of money for a new phone, but this is looking very much like a hardware problem. Thanks for your input folks, TQ[link] [comments] |
Disable the background internet use of the google phone app (Pixel 4a) Posted: 06 Aug 2021 11:13 AM PDT Currently, my (preinstalled google) phone app uses >30mb of my mobile internet on a monthly basis. I disabled all the functionalities like Call ID and so on. Is it safe to disable the background internet use for this app or will this result in any issues with incoming calls? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Aug 2021 11:05 AM PDT I have a bunch of images that I'd like for the home and lock screens to automatically switch between. I used Muzei for a long time and it worked great for a while, but recently it's started just changing to a blue gradient which it won't switch from unless I reset it. I tried Wallpaper Changer but it does the same thing. Anyone have any insight? [link] [comments] |
Galaxy A20 top speaker not working only in phone app Posted: 06 Aug 2021 09:48 AM PDT Hello@ Maybe someone can help me - I've tried just about everything I can think of and everything Google has suggested. My mom has a Samsung Galaxy A20 and her top speaker is not working, in the phone app. If you make a call there's no sound at all. Speakerphone works though. I tried it in snapchat and FB messenger and the top speaker seemed to work fine. The other speaker for videos and what not was working fine. I tried uninstalling everything that wasn't needed. I tried changing permissions on every app that didn't need it. I cleared the data and cache on the phone, cleared her Chrome history just in case too. I ever tried booting it in safemode and cleaning out the speaker and headphone jack. Anything? Edit: The only thing I have not tried is a complete factory reset. I'd like to avoid if possible but if it will possibly fix it I'd give it a shot. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Aug 2021 12:57 AM PDT Hi, Yesterday I had my mobile in my pocket and when I took it out it was hot and it seemed as if it had been completely factory reset without having asked for PINs or anything. All the apps were gone. I installed DiskUsage and the system partition was taking up almost 90% of the space (of 128GB). I cursed thinking that I had been factory reset and that something had happened, but what was my surprise, that when I restarted the device again, it started normally with all my applications and with all my usual settings. What could have happened? [link] [comments] |
LineageOS 18 on Raspberry Pi 4 Posted: 06 Aug 2021 08:06 AM PDT Hi, I installed LOS by konstakang and it seems working well. The only issue regards the reproduction of DRM-protected contents, such as Prime Video. The dev said hardware encoding is not supported, but software one is. I checked that with DRM Info and, as expected, widevine has level 3. I've supposed I were able to stream at least in SD, but video crashes. Could this depend from the root access (but it should be disabled in developer options)? Should I flash Magisk and enable Magisk Hide? Thank you all in advance. [link] [comments] |
Weird system UI notification keeps appearing Posted: 06 Aug 2021 07:37 AM PDT Hi there, I woke up a few days ago with a huge Bright Green Line down the middle of my screen. This line today turned white. I've also been getting 2-3 notifications today with this. I'm not sure at all what it means or it wants me to do. I'm not even sure if the line in the phone is related. What does it all mean. How do manufacturers flash android devices? Posted: 06 Aug 2021 07:13 AM PDT I believe that SP Flash is used for flashing Mediatek devices. Huawei has FlashTools for Kirin devices. Maybe SP Flash and FlashTools are used by repair technicians, but what does a manufacturer use? [link] [comments] |
How can I use an NTFS formatted SD card? Posted: 06 Aug 2021 06:46 AM PDT Currently away from home and without a computer. Hasn't realized the new SD card and USB C thumb drive I have were NTFS formatted. The SD card has movies and TV in my Kindle while I put about 60gb of music to listen to on the thumb drive to plug into my Pixel. Is there any way to make use of either with my Android devices without having to format them and erase everything? [link] [comments] |
How to use Android phone as a Bluetooth speaker Posted: 06 Aug 2021 06:12 AM PDT Hi, I bought a Bluetooth receiver (with an aux input) for my car. Just for fun I wanted to see if this could work with my Nintendo Switch, connecting the receiver with the aux to the switch and using my phone as a speaker. The problem is that it seems not working: even I can select the device as the output speaker, I can't hear nothing. Could you help me? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Desperately searching for a solution because I won't be able to play my fave game otherwise;-; Posted: 06 Aug 2021 04:31 AM PDT Hiya Folks i got an issue, So I've been using a micro SD card as an internal storage for a while now. I was able to download games on it, everything was fine until I updated my system to android 11. It said the SD card was corrupted and the only option i had was to remove it entirely. I put the card back in after removing and was able to format it as internal storage again. I thought everything was fine until I redownload the games and apps i had. For your information the apps downloaded perfectly fine into the SD card storage. If you play games you may know that some big games require to download packs, in my case the game needed about 1,9GB. The process went fine but only downloaded up to 300mb. My SD card has a 32GB storage. I've been searching for solutions since and haven't been able to find any. So I hope I might find my luck by asking here. [link] [comments] |
