[DEV] Pixel-art Incremental RPG Dungeoning - big early access update with new nav, new features, new dungeons

[DEV] Pixel-art Incremental RPG Dungeoning - big early access update with new nav, new features, new dungeons

Dungeoning is back with a massive update to address feedback, current play-styles and new players. Background: it's a pixel-art fantasy incremental RPG I've been working on for a while, and it's in Early Access on Google Play.

    Go Dungeoning.

Last time I posted here, I got savaged, so let's get why that happened out there first:

    • It's a F2p game, so it's got evil stuff like IAPs and ads in it. This is true, but I designed it to have a ton of depth and fun for the free player and paying player alike and I tried to stay out of your face with the $ stuff. You can tell me if that's true after the initial pop-up which is totally in your face. The ads are never forced and opting into watching gives permanent benefits. If you hate that stuff— like in a guttural, deep-down sense— don't play and leave some "greedy dev" stuff here in the comments. If you don't care or only kinda care, there might be something to like here. If you give it more than a few minutes, I bet you'll like it (if RPG grind, incrementals and upgrades are up your alley).
    • The nav sucked. It did. I tried a Snapchat-esque thing that just didn't work. Everyone told me so— thanks for saying so here and on Discord. I fixed it. It's now "normal" and hopefully, intuitive— you tell me.
    • There was zilch for guidance— no tutorial or explanations. I put in a tiny tutorial to get you started and almost everything in the game tells you what it does if you tap its icon— check it out. The Wiki is also updated.
    • If you played in the Alpha and were turned off by the nav or roughly balanced early days— give it another go and let me know what you think.

    Fast forward to now:

You build up a party of now-unlimited numbers (5 active at a time). You develop each one, RPG-style. There's a deep loot system that changes every time you think you've got it down. There's 178 dungeons whose keys drop for every achievement in the game. There's Bosses with references to all sorts of fun stuff— but you have to be on the lookout. There's NPCs inspired by classics, my childhood nightmares, and TTCJRPGs.

    Dive dungeons.

And it's Idle (sort of). And it's designed to be really deep. And deepening. Want a quick time-waster? You might like it. Want something to really sink your teeth into? Let's go.

We're not stopping until this thing is a rabbit hole you want to go down forever. Lord Awful ruined everything— and he's not going to get away with it.

If you're still reading, here's the Early Access link to play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gunslingerstudios.dungeoning

Want to dig in before you try? Check out the site.

We have an active Discord where discussion, suggestions, gripes and 1st looks are all over the place: Discuss.

Not sure if you remember soda dungeon or got around to playing it, but I found it to be quite nice.

The es will be available late May and the Devs plan to not reset unless really required. This is unique to android and other platforms will not get it.

[REQUEST] Games with Co op content

    Posted: 08 May 2020 10:07 AM PDT

Hey there folks! I have a pretty straight up request, need suggestion on games that have interactive Co op content. Over this quarantine period, I managed to get my girlfriend into gaming and she's a beginner. I and my friends can handle games of complexity since we've been gaming for years now(multi-player I mean). So right now, I need game suggestions that are easy to play or are easy on a beginner, has enough Co op content, the learning curve isn't too steep, and as above, multi-player. If it has Co op content wherein I can guide her, its even better. N if the game has interesting mechanics that can keep my girl occupied for a while and have her attention(she's quick to get bored), I'd be grateful. Sorry about the huge para though. Thank you ahead of time!

[REQUEST] - Looking for a PvP game

    Posted: 08 May 2020 12:28 PM PDT

    Hello,
I am looking for a PvP-oriented game, which meets the following categories:
    - No Pay2Win (Meaning no direct powerincrease through money. Skins and some XP- or currency-boosters are fine though.)
    - No shooters or turn-based gameplay. (I enjoy real-time action and depth in a game.)
    - No overloaded menus and dozens of ingame currencies to overwhelm the player (Looking at you AoV and ML:BB)
    - Quick and shorter "rounds" are appreciated, so that I can play for 15 minutes and then do something else again.

I already play Brawl Stars, which is pretty neat. I enjoy the very short rounds, the artstyle is clean and the menus don't overwhelm you with gimmicks and goodies. However I feel like the game will become stale pretty quickly.

    Thanks for any suggetions :)

When will dragon ball legends be released in the middle east?

    Posted: 08 May 2020 10:59 AM PDT

I've been trying to download this game from the playstore but they say it's not available in your region. I've tried downloading it from 3rd party sites such as aptoide only to tell me to download it officially. So can anyone give me an idea of when or will it release in the middle east?

Any games similar to Krosmaga and Stormbound?

    Posted: 08 May 2020 12:32 AM PDT

Seeing as Krosmaga is abandoned and basically dying and Stormbound being a greedy af p2w game on top of being abandoned I was searching for games on android with a similar playstyle to those two.

What I mean is that you play on a chess like field and deposit your troops there which move towards the opponent.

Seems like these type of games never get much love either. I also wouldnt consider them to be auto chess, as auto chess seems more "active" in the sense that its not really turn based.

Looking for an app I played a long time ago

    Posted: 07 May 2020 04:32 PM PDT

It's a super fun game that, for the life of me, I can't remember the name of. It's basically an 8-bit dungeon game where you're the bad guy, it's your dungeon. You can get a bunch of different demons to protect your dungeon. You can see what level the "heroes" who are entering your dungeon are and what they're element is, then you place your demons accordingly. I don't know if that rings any bells for anyone, but any and all help is greatly appreciated, good day to you all.

Having issues with lag using a bluetooth controller (Steelseries Stratus Duo)

    Posted: 07 May 2020 06:50 PM PDT

Finally decided to get myself a bluetooth controller since the touch controls for Stardew Valley are abysmal. I figured since I was going for it, I might as well go for something with good reviews, and eventually landed on the Steelseries Stratus Duo.

For the most part, the controller is great; feels solid, comfortable hold, and works just fine for the most part aside from one very annoying issue - every couple seconds, there seems to be a lag where it acts as if I'm holding a direction on the joystick, or like it just doesn't respond for a solid second every few seconds. It's like it gets stuck or something. I've done a bit of searching on this and haven't been able to find anything that sounds similar to my issue, so now I'm perplexed.

If anybody has ever had a similar issue, or has heard of a similar issue and knows how to fix it, please please pleeeeease let me know. I've been looking forward to using this thing, and it's irritating knowing the experience would be perfect if this issue didn't exist.

I'm using a Samsung A20, so not a baller flagship but definitely not a junk phone, so I don't think the phone itself has anything to do with it, as it has no hang-ups itself any other time.

Hope to get some sort of answer!

tl;dr - bluetooth gamepad is lagging for a second every few seconds and I can't figure out how to fix it.
