Can I safely use my Oculus Quest charger on my OnePlus 7t? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 06:08 AM PDT Hi there. I like to plug in my phone when I'm laying in bed, but I have a limited number of outlets AND the cord supplied with the OnePlus 7t is surprisingly short. I do have an Oculus Quest that is typically plugged in at any given time, and I would love to use that charger for both, since it has a super long cord, but I have two questions:
On the Oculus charger, it says this:
On the OnePlus charger, it has this info:
Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |
How can I force my phone to connect to US-based cell towers only? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 10:33 AM PDT I use a Samsung Galaxy S9 with Android 10, and plan to enter Mexico from the US via the land border. How can I force my phone to connect to US-based cell towers only? (I believe my data usage will get way more expensive for non-US data use) [link] [comments] |
Would a Moto G Power be a significant upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy A10e..? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 12:18 AM PDT So, I have an A10e.. It's about to be a year since I've had this phone, but I was looking into the budget/mid-range phones... I'm in the US so realme, oneplus, and Xiaomi are nonexistant. My budget is around $250-300 USD and I feel as if I'd be happy with the Moto G Power... All I need is a good camera to take nice and clear pictures with, Micro SD expansion for my photos, plenty of storage, non sluggish decent performance, and a decent sized battery so it doesn't degrade as fast as other phones.. Plus, The peek display and Motorola features are really nice. I'm trying to get the bang for my buck now that I'm researching more and more each day about phones in this price range... What do you all think..? Would the Moto G power be an upgrade from my Galaxy a10e..? Your opinion would be really appreciated!!! <3 [link] [comments] |
Does using dark mode during the day actually save battery? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 07:59 AM PDT I notice I set brightness higher when I use dark mode in a bright environment. Is there a certain point where light mode would actually use less battery due to setting brightness lower? Obviously this is for amoled screens. [link] [comments] |
Setting present on one Android 10 device but not on the other? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 06:08 AM PDT On a Samsung tablet (SM-T590, i.e. "Tab A 2017"), I discovered a setting named "Protect battery", to limit the maximum charge to 85%. On a Samsung phone (SM-A315F, i.e. "A31"), there is no such setting. What could explain this? The OS is up-to-date on both devices. Neither is rooted. [link] [comments] |
is there a way to disable the proximity sensor? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 12:20 PM PDT I'm using a Galaxy S6 and the proximity sensor is bugging me a lot, I want to disable it, please help. [link] [comments] |
Galaxy S7 broken phone question Posted: 05 Oct 2020 11:51 AM PDT So my mom has a s7 and it recently broke. Screen is broken, just black , but the phone will still connect in the car Bluetooth and messages/phone calls work there. She has some insurance through att and it is going to cost $200 to get a "new" phone (same exact kind, just not broken).... Is that worth it ? She's had the phone a few years at least, seems a little expensive to get the same phone as opposed to maybe spending just a little more to upgrade ? Not very knowledgeable here, any suggestions much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2020 05:43 AM PDT My gallery and videos take about 3 GB in space according to settings but I have nowhere near that many that could explain that, any thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2020 11:32 AM PDT So, I got this phone two years ago. My contract's up, I could get another, but I'd rather save money for a little while until the phone really starts to show its age. Problem: my internal storage is being gobbled up and I have no clue why. Even after migrating apps as much as I can (i.e. AppMgr3, moving apps to my microSD) and clearing out photos, video etc via exploring on windows (i.e. the ones that didn't go to my SD) my internal storage still sits at 14.1GB / 16GB used. I understand a significant amount of space is always going to be taken up with system files, but having like 11GB taken is ridiculous, there must be something I can do. According to device care -> Storage, documents, images, and videos all take up 0MB. Audio takes up 4.61MB (default ringtone, never changed it), and Applications takes up 3.7GB. So...what gives? Is it orphaned update files from the OS? Leftover junk from apps being moved? Cache is cleared, that barely breaches 600MB though. Is there anything I can do, any recommended cleanup apps? Or is this just the natural state of phones' internal storage as they go through life? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 05 Oct 2020 11:20 AM PDT I have received an account that ends with government letter (i.g. .uk, .ru) instead of (.com). I can access it on my computer simply by writing the email and the password. But on my Android device there's problems and I can't access it. These are the steps I'm taking:
Then the cycle repeats itself. It requires me to delete the work account I created and create a new one. Back then on March when we were given the accounts I could access it without any problem but now I have this problem. Any idea how to fix it? Thanks in advance for your help. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2020 11:15 AM PDT Hello everyone! I have twenty truck drivers who i have a really good relationship with. They would all agree to do it together with their permission. It is really important that i don't want this to simply track their location. I wish to somehow Export their Data and import into an other Phone, which would be in my office. So when they are on the road, and they are moving, the phone iny my office would also follow the same coordinates. Since i don't know, i would like to ask you all, if there is any program / app that can do this ? To gather their data and import it into an other phone, which is at me. I know that there are specific APPS that are able to generate FAKE GPS locations, if you change the Default App for it in Settings - > Advanced - > " Select Mock location app ". But is it possible to change this " Select Mock Location App " to an other app which collects REAL location data, so the pointer on the screen would follow the same path, as the one on the truck driver's phone? ( Image of the Mock Location Data - > https://eos-gnss.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/how-to-enabling-mock-location-etp.jpg ) ( And now i would like to tell why it is important for me to find such an APP) For a couple of months i was talking about Cryptocurrencies with them, however they are old or atleast old-fashioned, they don't really understand this kind of things. There is an APP, that pays crypto for Location Data that you give them and also there are bonuses daily, that you have to click on. Im pretty much sure that my truck drivers sometimes will forget to even turn on the App, and also clicking on bonuses? Nah.... , however if i could somehow track their location and use their location in the APP then i could always keep like twenty phones in my offices that is connected to their phones and gathering their Data. I could use the bonuses etc. By that way i could maximize our profit and all they had to do in the morning before transports is to Turn On the GPS on their phone, and i could get their Data thru that " magical app " which i don't know yet. If somehow i could do it we would be able to make some crypto in the following years until we retire :). We are all friends so 70-80% of the earnt crypto would be their since im just managing it. I'm not sure if there is any APP for this, but if you are able to help then Thank you a lot! [link] [comments] |

Cheap wireless charging receiver with connector off-center? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 10:55 AM PDT I'm trying to find a relatively inexpensive Qi receiver for my grandparents' phone (a cheap little Alcatel CAMEOX/IdealXCITE 5044R), but the phone's Micro-USB port is way off to the right side of the bottom of the phone (click for visual). All the receivers I've found under $20 are just straight down the center, and the only one I've found that offers a side option is nearly $40 (2A would be the right one at this shop). Any pointers to more affordable options that'd be like this? [link] [comments] |

Logcat analysis for not sleeping when Bluetooth is enabled Posted: 05 Oct 2020 10:45 AM PDT Hi, I have a Asus MaxPro M1 running a custom rom. Overall I enjoy the rom, far more than stock as it contains features I make use of. But.. As I make use of bluetooth devices, the phone not sleeping all day is a bit of a nuisance. Yes, there are other custom roms, but it seems they are all riding on the code of one, so most of them have this issue. I was hoping someone who understands things better than I could peruse a logcat and point a finger at what is keeping it awake. And perhaps suggest something that may work around the problem. Thanks for any insight into this. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N4VxaF62jfy4WT8A8otup_bBmV7DkRAW/view?usp=sharing I should note that a few exclusions are set [link] [comments] |
Anyone else's assistant turn on when you say "Google" as opposed to the whole phrase "Ok Google"? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 10:19 AM PDT Basically the title, over the past few months I've been noticing the assistant activating way more often than it should. I say the word Google often when I'm talking about the company/other Google products, but I very rarely say OK/Hey Google (pretty much never when I'm using my phone, only when I'm intending to address the Google Home devices). E.g. I might say "I wonder if Google has a similar product" and my phone will chime in and start listening for a question. It's super annoying when it just activates itself when I'm mid conversation, does anyone have a fix for this? I'm using a Pixel 3XL on the latest version of Android. [link] [comments] |
Audio Freezing after update, Pixel 3a Android 11 (Fi) Posted: 05 Oct 2020 10:16 AM PDT Recently got update on my Pixel 3a, and ever since my audio has been randomly freezing. Happens over bluetooth, with speaker, and wired. The only thing I have found that stops it is waking the screen back up and keeping it awake, but eventually it starts freezing again. Freezes, plays for a few seconds, freezes, plays half a second, etc Help! Pixel 3a, Android 11, Google Fi [link] [comments] |
Automatically audio once Bluetooth connected Posted: 05 Oct 2020 09:35 AM PDT Hello dear Reddit users, It'll be my first reddit post after months and months of using reddit and only reading..... the reason for my first post is because of an annoyance I'm having; Once my android (Samsung S10) connects to my car via Bluetooth it automatically starts playing audio. At first it started playing some .mp3's I had stored on my phone, but while it started playing through the car speakers there wasn't any application being used. One day I figured if I'd remove VLC player from my phone it wouldn't do this anymore. It stopped playing the certain mp3's after removing VLC but then it simply started playing the latest voice message I've had on WhatsApp, EVERYTIME the phone connects to my car. Obviously I can't remove WhatsApp and now since I'm using audible for books it starts playing the book I was listening to, without me instructing the phone to do so!! I'm really desperate for a solution because its such a burden to me, especially when the sound settings are very loud and it suddenly plays the narrator loudly through my speakers. I really, really can't find any setting that tells my phone to do this thing and googling and such havent helped me so far. Is there anyone else witb this problem, is there a solution and damnit Android why isn't there a simple setting that says, "want to automatically play audio once your phone connects?" How to sign into an android tablet whose synced email and password I have forgotten? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 01:47 AM PDT I have a Huawei tablet whose lock pattern I had forgotten. After many months of trying to remember it unsuccessfully, I decided to reset the tablet as there was nothing important stored on the tablet. When I switched it on after the reset, it asked me to sign into a Google account which was previously synced to the device. But I forgot the email and password which was synced to the device. I tried a Google account I thought was synced but it wouldn't log in. I have tried what I could without any success. Would appreciate your help. [link] [comments] |
Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition 5G WiFi problem (exclamation mark on WiFi icon) Posted: 05 Oct 2020 07:44 AM PDT Hi! I got my S20 FE two days ago and it's been great apart from the WiFi. It works normally and then very often it loses connection and an exclamation mark appears next to the WiFi icon. It happens a lot and is very annoying. None of my other devices have that problem. Is the phone faulty? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Oct 2020 01:45 AM PDT Hi folks, I have an HTC U11 and for awhile the battery seemed to act weird, like sometimes when I take it off from charge would drop to 96 instantly or would randomly drop 10% in 3 minutes then stay at the same percentage for hours — but I ignored it because overall I had the same battery life as before. However, I woke up today and after 8 hours of charging overnight it was barely at 71% and said that it takes 8 more hours to be complete. I plugged it in again and now it's charging normal, but now my anxiety is high because something is definitely going bad. Cannot take it to a service because I am in UK and they don't do HTC [link] [comments] |
