Any recommendation for a game that I can play while working.

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 08:13 AM PDT

I work as customer service, and sometimes it's really slow. I need a game that I can play continuously and that I am able to pause instantly in case a call comes up. Any ideas?

[REQUEST] Looking for a couple of games for my mum

    Posted: 08 Aug 2021 11:33 PM PDT

My mum is hooked on her phone whenever she's not working. She keeps downloading these trashware games that ask for Call-Camera-Location permissions and show 3 ads between each puzzle. I'm regularly uninstalling adware from her phone and she usually forgets, but I erased 2 games that she won't stop asking me to replace them.

I would like alternatives to these games that are legit, contain few ads (and possibly a paid option with no ads) and don't ask for extreme permissions.

Game 1: Tilemaster. Apparently it's a combination between Mahjong and Match3.

Game 2: Liquid sorting. I don't have a link, but you have several tubes of color and you have to think how to sort them.

    Thank you in advance

EDIT: She can't have internet cut off, since she also chats with friends and family. Also, she doesn't know english, so please, no story-driven suggestions!

A way to stop Google Play Games from trying to connect?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 07:12 AM PDT

I've built a spare phone from parts, except it can't really functions as a phone as it's unable to connect to any wireless networks due to existing board damage. I decided I wanted to turn it into an offline gaming device and treat it like a PSP or similar. However after getting everything installed via a Type C flash drive, whenever I boot a game, Google's Play Games service decides to show up and take forever to connect to servers (when clearly it can't and never will). I can eventually exit out of it and just play but is there a way to just keep it from popping up in the first place?

For anyone who doesn't know, Dolphin lets you run Wii games on Android.

    Posted: 08 Aug 2021 03:58 PM PDT

I'm not a huge fan of typical mobile games, since I primarily play games on my PC. But despite that, I think Dolphin is a fantastic app for Android, and I thought I'd share it for anyone who's never heard of it. To be clear, I'm not associated at all with Dolphin, and its not even developed by a for profit company. I just think its a super useful tool for mobile gamers.

Its great to be able to hang out with friends, and randomly decide connect my phone to the TV and play Mario Kart Wii with everyone. Of course, you can play (nearly) any Wii game you own with it, but I think it's great for party games that would usually require you to carry an entire Wii console with you everywhere.

Its totally free if you want to check it out. I know for a fact its on F-Droid, which is where its officially hosted. https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.dolphinemu.dolphinemu/

I'm sure its also on Google Play as well, but I can't say for certain.

What made "Slay the Spire" supposedly so good?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 07:30 AM PDT

Everytime I requested a game, Slay The Spire always comes up.

I looked at some gameplay and I honestly don't see why is this supposed to be any better than other game with the same mechanics. I am thinking at games I got for free like Pirates Outlaws, Dungeon Tales, Rogue Adventure or Void Tyrans...

What makes Slay so good that I would pay and play this over the other games I had for free?

Looking for a game which, 1).Does not throws too many ads to me 2).Does not makes the gaming more confusing, by itching you to utilise your coins earned, to update a weapon, car, device, house etc 3). Does not asks for my permission to go into my contacts, pic gallery, location and browsing history

Graduate student with severe ADHD. Need recommendations please!

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 01:19 AM PDT

    Hello,

I have very little tolerance for games with a lot of bullshit. IAPs, long tutorials, p2w mechanics,⚡energy system, excessive exposition about a plot that sucks, ridiculous grind, etc.

I prefer portrait mode since I'm constantly multitasking and honestly I think of android gaming more like a tool to keep my stimulant charged brain satiated while performing tasks that provide me with zero dopamine.

I know I probably sound insufferable. I basically am. But I just need a good game and I really hope someone will help me out because having a solid game seriously helps me do school work and dishes, and well...basically everything.

Right now I'm obsessed with Lichess. Favorite opening as white anyone?

    I like the Danish Gambit.

    Anyhow, thank you!

Searching for a deckbuilding game closer to Mage Knight (criteria in post)

    Posted: 08 Aug 2021 10:45 PM PDT

I am aware of Slay the Spire and some other deckbuilders on other platforms. I played Pirates Outlaws. I am looking for a deckbuilding game closer to Mage Knight in mechanics and in concept. If anyone isn't aware, deckbuilding comes from board games like Dominion and Star Realms. Mage Knight is revolutionary for taking the mechanic to a new level by giving players more control and more assets outside of the deck. Here are the main points:

    • Keep cards in hand you didn't play. This is a big one. Any deckbuilder that doesn't do this (such as StS) is pretty boring to me. It might as well be a dice game.
    • Each card has multiple uses instead of just the one ability on it. For instance, each card in Mage Knight has two abilities to choose from. Not to mention 4 other basic values such as attack and movement. That means every hand hand can be played in dozens of different ways.
    • Reason to actually keep cards in hand between turns - whether this is because you can only play so many cards each turn or because strategically it makes more sense to save some key cards.
    • The game offers more ways to build up power. Such as a tableau of cards or tokens that get exhausted and refreshed. Or passive bonuses that stay out.
    • Deck thinning and deck management. I want to feel like I have decent opportunities to shape my deck in the way I envision. Including trashing cards and multiple sources for cards.
    • Card and asset shops I can anticipate to some extent or at least see what's available before entering a fight.
    • No emphasis on "roguelike" or "roguelite". This isn't a deal breaker. I just have no interest in this in a deckbuilder unless A) the game arc is like Mage Knight's (3-4 total hours of one game) or B) you can retain assets between runs.

These criteria are in order from most important to least. Looking for a heavy mobile deckbuilder that isn't just a like StS and takes these critical leaves from MK's book.

I also have a PC, PS4, and Switch. Feel free to make other recs for those platforms.

[REQUEST] looking for good games with the pixel art style. Preferably RPGs, adventure, survival.

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 12:33 PM PDT

As said in the title, I am looking mainly for games with the pixel art style. Games similar to something like soul knight. If it has good multiplayer then even better. Not really looking for a gacha, since I already play one currently. I am looking for a game that won't time gate me, one I can play non stop.

Is gaming with the Snapdragon 765G still worth it in 2021 ?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 11:41 AM PDT

Hi everyone, I would like to ask you your personal opinion when using the Snapdragon 765G (if you've had a phone with one). Did you find the processor fluid and fast ? Is there a massive difference between SD 765G (90 Hz), SD 865 and SD 888 that makes it more worthwile to move on to the other processors ? Also, apart from your experience with emulation (PS2 and Gamecube), how has it been with resource intensive games like Asphalt 3, Genshin Impact or Call of Duty Mobile ? Does it kepp up with the other processors ?

    Looking for a game.

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 09:08 AM PDT

Today, when I was downloading ,,Ronin: the last samurai" (I'm not sure if it can help but just said it anyways) I accidentally found ne game and I put it in pending, so it would download after the first game. But it does some reason didn't and as you alredy guessed it, I don't remember it's name. I believe that it was about 4.0 stars in rating and 91MB was shown as space needed for a download. For some game info, I said that the game was a post apocalyptic and screenshot had load of black colors or their shades. Mainly you were supposed to get a lot of recurces by looting houses (I'm not so sure about place tho) and fight of other scavengers (propably people but I'm not sure about that either). Also, games interface looked like a generic .io game and that's discouraging me a little but I'll try it out (of course if I find it). Thank you in advance!

    Games like Dead Effect 2

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 12:26 AM PDT

Anyone know of any good campaign/singleplayer fps or even TPS games that are of a quality even close to dead effect 2?

It seems so hard to find actual decent games for mobile anymore. The play store is hopeless. Just swamped with copies of the same basic styles. Rogue lites, gacha's, all the same games. We know its possible to have actual proper games, but i just dont see any shiw up anymore.

Even if anyone knows of working emulators for decent ports. I was able to find one for my quake and hexen games. I found one for half life 2 but its old and wont use the full screen. Any suggestions?
