    So my parents and my sister switched to iPhones recently off some Tmobile deal. Half the messages wouldn't go through, half would go to their old phones (somehow, even with no SIM cards). Apparently you have to go here: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat

    Enter in your number, get the code, and voila, problem solved. Only took me about 10 hours of continuously trying random crap.

    Found a potential fix for an issue, hoping someone has a better fix.

    I was not getting some of my text messages from certain senders, though my texts were going out without a problem. My carrier is Verizon. And I am running an ulephone armor 9, I know I know China phone, however due to my line of work I need something rugged with thermal capability. Anyway the problem stems from chat features attempting to connect and not being able to connect. Clearing the cache of both Carrier services as well as the messages app allows for an attempt of reconnection to chat features however it is generally unsuccessful. My fix is as follows.

    1) clear the storage of both Carrier services and messages. Make sure to force stop first. 2) open up your messages app, click settings, and go to chat features. Enter your phone number so that you can attempt to verify, and while it is trying to verify quickly pull your sim card out wait about a second and push it back in. 3) it should now connect to chat features and stay connected as long as the phone is not rebooted.

    Definitely going to be looking for alternative solutions in the near future that are more permanent however this seems to work and probably pertains to many different devices suffering from this issue that I have read about.
