Can someone explain to the technical restrictions behind Chromecast with Google TV and Firestick 4K not supporting FEL Dolby Vision playback? Is this hardware related or software? Thanks.

The remote that came with that TV is junk.

Will the new Google TV remote work with Al Android TVs or any other remote?

Plex player not working properly on MiBox S

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 04:42 AM PDT

I bought a MiBox S a couple of days ago and every time I open plex there's a new issue. The first time everything worked flawlessly and I managed to watch a 4K film in direct play. The second time it wouldn't play any content on the server despite it working perfectly fine on my mobile phone and on the same Wi-Fi.The third time it wouldn't let me switch users, giving me the following message "user switching is not available, check your internet connection or status.plex.tv". Although this time it DID see the content but wanted to transcode anything, the same 4K film I watched a couple of days prior was being transcoded in 480p. Again, Plex on my phone was working flawlessly on the same LAN.What can I do? I set the quality to max so it wouldn't transcode. I tried with a static and dynamic IP although I don't think it could change a lot since it's on the same LAN as the server.MiBox is running Android version 9 and Plex is updated to version 8.19.3.Thanks!

Chromecast with Google TV automatically liking content

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 10:15 AM PDT

I'm super happy with my CCwGTV device but I'm coming across movies and shows in the guide and finding that they've already been 'liked' - content I don't like, content I've never seen, even content I've never heard of. It's not a huge deal obviously, but I do worry that it's throwing the recommendation algorithm off.

My partner also uses the device but isn't the one liking this content either. As far as I know, our house isn't haunted. Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Bluetooth volume level, antenna vs streaming?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 11:39 AM PDT

    TCL 4K Android TV Model# 43S434

I have two pairs of bluetooth headphones. I use them successfully on my desktop computer and phone. I can listen to locally downloaded content as well as streaming music and video with no issues and at relatively low volume.

I have now tried using these on my new TV. Antenna TV comes through fine, I can keep the volume at around 30-40. However, if I try to watch streaming channels, like Disney+ or HBOMax, I have to turn the volume up to 80-90 to hear the same level of sound.

There is no difference between antenna TV and streaming with the audio from the TV's own speakers.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a paid game that I've bought on my phone. But it doesn't show up when logged into my android tv using the same account. Is there a way to bypass this?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 01:31 PM PDT

The game in question is GTA Vice City. I've paid for it on my phone so it just makes sense for them to make it available on all platforms. Didn't want to go the unofficial route and download the apk and sideload it as I don't want to risk bricking the TV.
