Every phone I've ever had, anytime I received a message, snapchat, email, literally anything at all, I would get an update pretty much the second I got one. That is until June 2020 when I decided to upgrade from my Galaxy S7 Active that I have had since 2016 and picked up a Galaxy A10 and ever since then my notifications never seem to be on time anymore. It never bothered me too much but I ended up upgrading again to an A11e recently after my phone was stolen. And even this one has the same issues. It never bothered me TOO much at first but lately it's started to become a huge issue. From not receiving important texts from friends in times of need leading them to think I'm ignoring them and then making me feel like shit to not being notified when Uber drivers arrive and having them leave me, while taking my money to "Thank you for your purchase" emails being delivered days late sending me into a panic attack thinking someone got a hold of my credit card, it's been a huge pain in the ass and I really want this fixed. I've done some googling and tried most of the solutions I've been coming across and none of it seems to be working, even factory resetting hasn't helped, which I didn't think it would since the phone is brand new. I've even talked to friends who have gotten new phones recently and even they are having similar issues with different models. I'm really at a loss and if anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. Tl;dr: Brand new phone isn't getting notifications until way later if at all. [link] [comments] |
| Preventing photos/videos on SD card from having dates/order changed Posted: 23 Jul 2021 10:36 AM PDT I record many high quality videos and photos often, and instead of transferring them from phone to PC I remove the SD card and put it into the PC as it transfers much faster for some reason. I delete most but keep the best and after putting the card back in my phone, all of the files on it have their dates changed to when I put the card in. It's really annoying when posting to social media and other things that sort photos by most recent and can't find what I'm looking for even when it lets me use the file explorer. This has been happening for years on various phones and I never thought there would be something to prevent this specific problem until now. It's actually gotten so annoying to the point I'm just leaving the card in now and dealing with slower transfer speeds. [link] [comments] |

| Can I save my apps from a soft bricked phone? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 08:31 AM PDT I have a rooted Redmi 7 and I was on an AOSP ROM. It was fine, pretty stable, not a single bug that I can tell, until today the phone simply rebooted itself and is stuck in the bootlogo. Im pretty worried about my app's data, is there I way I can save them? (I mean, data stored in the apps themselves, not stuff like photos, music, etc). [link] [comments] |

Poorly its just beta 2, why I don't reserve the beta 3 update? Does somebody else have these problem? Or maybe a solution. This also happens when I'm using Snapchat, Instagram, or TikTok with an Android phone. Though despite this every time I use the video option on my official camera application it works pretty well, and it's very smooth. I looked to check why my camera lags when I use other applications or when I use the "photo" option for my official camera app, which was already installed with the phone. I later found out that trying to take a photo with the sun (high lighting) out the window, that my camera works smoothly, I tried with other applications and my camera was also smooth. I swiped the curtains to hide the sun lighting, and all over again. My camera was very laggy when I tried to take a photo using my camera app or any other application. I decided to think that the lighting is what caused the lag, and I discovered that it did. I switched from the "photo" option to the "video" option on the camera app I used and with poor lighting, every time I swapped options I could see there was a difference in lighting. The video was lower in light, but the photo would have higher lighting. Implying the photo option adds or forces lighting when taking a photo, and whatever feature causes this must be slowing down the camera. My question is, how do I disable this feature so that my camera doesn't lag every time I use the photo option or using other applications? I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy A10e. I've tried resetting the cache & data, restarting my phone, even resetting my phone. Nothing works. It worked pretty well and didn't turn off for a couple of days, but yesterday I was doing other things and wasn't on my phone, and today Bluetooth turned off after 5 minutes of me using my Bluetooth headphones. This is so annoying, because by now it would have turned on, but it's been 6-7 hours since then and my phone doesn't have an audio jack. Please help me. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Jul 2021 11:05 AM PDT This really affects all apps but I have a couple health apps (for monitoring blood sugar, insulin, etc) that talk to my insulin pump and CGM via Bluetooth and they keep getting automatically killed disrupting communications. I've already added them to battery/memory exclusions to try and prevent this but it has not helped. I also tried out a system monitor for a short time and it didn't look like the RAM was peaking on usage (sat around 3gb/5.5gb with all the apps I need open) so I'm not sure what to think. Is there any way to get to know how those files/folder got created? I looked up the meta information for those files but I was not able to extract any useful information besides the coding date. | Screen randomly becomes unresponsive Posted: 23 Jul 2021 06:21 AM PDT I've recently replaced the screen in my Honor 7x and was working perfect at first, but then just started losing responsiveness along the top of the screen and in general swiping all over the screen. Restarting the phone fixed the problem, but it gradually comes back. Right now the phone has been up for 2hr, it had the unresponsive problem around 1hr, but now it works fine again. | Android calendar freezing issue Posted: 23 Jul 2021 06:16 AM PDT Hi all, recently my calendar app has been really buggy and slow. I use Business Calendar Pro in week view by default and when swiping between weeks it will often freeze, adding new events or deleting old ones takes forever and I often get the 'App is not responding, do you want to wait, send feedback etc' dialogue come up. I don't think it's not the BCpro apps fault as I've tried a couple of other calendar apps too and they all seem very slow and freeze often. I've tried uninstalling all calendar apps from my phone, deleting their data and removing and re-adding the account that I use fory calendar to no avail. More confusingly, if I use secure folder (I have a Samsung S20FE) then it all works fine. Any ideas on how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
| New Pixel 5 won't sync with G Suite gmail account Posted: 23 Jul 2021 09:56 AM PDT New Pixel 5. Loaded my personal gmail account with no issue. Added my G Suite (work) email account, but it won't sync emails. I've worked through the gmail trouble shooting list multiple times with my IT admin, and with a Pixel help desk tech. Everything on this page has been done multiple times. In addition I have reset my gmail password and re-signed in on other devices including desktop. When I go to the Gmail app on the Pixel and "Manage Your Google Account" there is a message "Finish signing in to continue. Something went wrong and you need to sign in again. Sign In. Sign In is "clickable" but it goes to a page "Checking In" - but only for a split second before returning to the "finish signing in page" / Google account page. I've been researching this and trying all options on all help pages for 2 days and am out of ideas. Happy to provide any additional details. Edit: I'm on Bell Mobility in Ontario Canada. Very often, instead of receiving the proper Discord notification, I'll receive a notification from another person's DMs, and most of the time it's something that I've already read. I'll click on the notification, and it'll bring me to that person's DMs instead of the person who actually sent me a message. I am loving my custom ROM, but this is a big problem. | My phone files were reduced but gradually came back? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 12:46 AM PDT I have AVG on my phone and it usually scans around 5000+ files everytime I perform a scan. But two days ago, There was a period of time where the files scanned were reduced to 4000+. Then by the end of the day, it gradually returned to the usual number. I installed malwarebytes as it was happening and it also scanned the same numbers of files as AVG in realtime. Is this a normal occurrence that I'm just being paranoid about?? If so I'd please like an explanation since I haven't clicked any shady links and neither antivirus detect anything bad. I've posted this on other subreddits and I'd like some peace of mind.. I dont use a lot of androids built in crap, at the moment I have rooted LineageOS 18.1 (copy of Android 11 with extras and google free), TWRP and ADB accessible. Is it possible to change the system apps for another app, for example simple file manager instead of the Android one, simple gallery instead of google photos? Is there a benefit of it? | Anyone else having issues with newly installed apps bypassing the Do Not Disturb mode? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 07:52 AM PDT I am on a Samsung s20 5g. Ive noticed that certain apps were still leaking past the do not disturb mode, even though they are not in my exceptions list. Then, I noticed these were apps that were specifically newly installed/re-installed. For example, I had to uninstall Instagram and re-install it. Before this process, the notifications were being blocked properly, but now that its newly re-installed, I am now getting their unwanted notifications. Another example of an app bypassing the exception list is a fantasy football app called Sleeper. I hadnt had it installed on my phone prior to do not disturb being enabled. Once it installed, I started getting multiple notifications, even though i didnt add it to my exceptions list? I am going to try to restart and see if that helps, but does anyone else have any tips? | A SideSync alternative that works remotely? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 07:43 AM PDT Hey guys, I've tried SideSync to control my phone (S7 Edge) from my PC, it works great. However, there is a huge limitation: you have to be on the same WiFi for it to work. I've been searching for a similar software that would allow me to control my phone, but at a distance (from any wifi). For example, when I travel, I usually do so without my phone (just a laptop) to really disconnect and recharge. However, with all the 2FA becoming mandatory everywhere, I'm forced to have access to my phone. I still don't want to bring it though. Therefore, is there any software that you know of that can be configured prior to me leaving that would allow me to access my phone from my laptop from a different part of the world (different wifi)?
