| What is happening with my storage? Posted: 10 Jun 2021 07:22 AM PDT I have a Galaxy s21, it's pretty new, only had it a couple months. This morning it gave me a warning that I was running out of space, which was very bizarre. Seems impossible to me. Settings shows that I am nearly full, with, somehow, over 177 gigs just in apps.https://imgur.com/a/gNi39RJThe second image, shows my apps list, which looks entirely normal, and if I add the sizes all up, I get a nowhere near 177 gigs. The list is ordered descending by size, and pocketcasts is my largest app at 1.5 gigs I also have google files on the phone, and that is telling me I have well over 100 gigs of free space (Should be the third image in that imgur set if I did this right). This sounds about right to me. Anyone experienced anything like this? What's the deal? EDIT: I recently got dropbox and have been uploading a lot of photos and videos, and somehow, even though I have in total, about 13 gigabytes in my dropbox, I had over 150 gigabytes in my dropbox storage cache on my phone. It seems like the process of uploading to dropbox is the issue and I'll just have to routinely clear the cache if I keep uploading stuff. Thanks to everyone who helped. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 10 Jun 2021 10:21 AM PDT anywho i havent upgraded a phone in legit years, i just ordered a s21 5g ultra. anyway i know samsung smart switch is an option and so is google drive but do both of those apps restore the actual data saved in the app, aka passwords or lets say budgeting apps where i have kept track of finances for years? is there anything that does something like that if these apps dont? I'm using it just for a few apps and have disabled the majority of the software on the phone. In my files, there is now a directory labeled debuglogger>mobilelog which is full of .curf files that are being created every couple of minutes. I keep having to manually delete them and it's driving me crazy. I think it's a Nokia thing because I can't find any info online, but I don't know how to stop it. Any help or tips on troubleshooting are appreciated. The phone is not connected to any networks and Malwarebytes shows no viruses. [link] [comments] |

| How to disable no internet on wifi notifications - OnePlus 6 Android 10 Posted: 10 Jun 2021 01:11 PM PDT Every time I pull up to my home, my phone's notification will pop up and chime and tell me that my home wifi has no internet connection, for the like 0.3 seconds before it realizes there is actually an internet connection and then the notification goes away. I can't find any setting on Wifi to disable that notification, and any articles I read about it seems to be from 2017 or points to a setting that doesn't seem to exist anymore. I've tried clicking on the notification to disable it, but it goes away faster then I can click; I am sitting in the car as my wife pulls up ready to click, and then my phone beeps, shows the notification and then it's gone before I can disable it. To further add information, this only started when I upgraded my router to a MikroTik hAP ac2. The wifi range on that thing is amazing, no more dead spots, bandwidth is lightening fast, and for the price it can't be beat. The only issue is it seems to take a second for my phone to authenticate and that is why I get the notification. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 10 Jun 2021 08:38 AM PDT I open the default Calendar app on my Samsung phone (Android 9). I select Settings, add new account, Exchange. I authenticate successfully and then I get a dialog asking me to grant access to my email to Gmail app from Google LLC! If i refuse, nothing gets added. I am not using Gmail, and i have even disabled the "Calendar" permissions from the Gmail app. Why do I keep getting this dialog? Can I avoid Gmail accessing my email in the Exchange server? P.S. I would like to avoid installing the Outlook app from Microsoft, it causes me other kinds of problems. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 10 Jun 2021 12:14 PM PDT I have a Samsung SD card that I've been using for some years and after a software update a year ago I lost some valuable videos and photos. It wasn't until recently I discovered the LOST.DIR folder, but I can't seem to figure out how to recover the 20 files in it. Is there an app or PC application that can get this done? So I just bought a Poco F3 last week and the battery life is absolutely amazing, getting over 7-8 hours of SOT on a single charge. I understand that phone batteries lose their health as time goes by, but does charging when the phone nears 40% and not letting it charge past 80-90% actually work in saving your battery health, over a long period of time? So is it more effective then to do this method and charge more frequently (maybe 2-3x a day), than to charge from 30-40% all the way up to 100%? He deleted the video after few minutes permanently from phone. He hasn't synced his phone to the phone's cloud or Google photos or drive , he hasn't shared or transferred or uploaded anywhere. But he had Lucky Patcher app and Modded apps in his phone . Is there any chance of leakage of the video by the apps to pornsites and how often these are leaked by apps ? [link] [comments] |
| Every Custom ROM I Flash (Nexus 6P) Goes to Boot Loop. Posted: 10 Jun 2021 09:15 AM PDT Every custom ROM I Flash through TWRP goes to boot loop. I've wiped the phone (advanced: data, system, cache, and Davik / Art Cache). I've done dirty flashes and restored to stock and nothing seems to work. I've tried Carbonrom, LineageOS 15.1 and Paranoid Android. I've read into boot loop fixes and found you can flash with an older version of TWRP that only uses 4 cores, then you sideload a file that's supposed to fix it. Nothing. Currently, there's a Mi 9 backup in Google Drive that shows a backup for Messages. However, my SMS messages did not transfer to the PE ROM. Posted: 10 Jun 2021 07:20 AM PDT I use my timeline to help me keep an accurate accounting of where I am for work purposes- I am on the honor system, and they believe my log entries, but I want them to be as accurate as possible nonetheless. My timeline helps enormously, but sometimes it just does not keep track of where I am. | Can't read an SD card without formatting Posted: 10 Jun 2021 07:04 AM PDT I have a microSD card reader and trying to read some cards from my Pixel 4. Any card I insert says it needs to be fixed then the only option is to format the card. I tried it with one of them and it worked fine after I formatted it but I want to be able to read cards that have data on them. | Best phones that still have the headphone jack? Posted: 10 Jun 2021 02:50 AM PDT I've been wanting to replace my Galaxy S7, and was taking a look at the different versions of the S21. Obviously, none of them have the 3.5 mm headphone jack. I didn't realize until now that that might be a dealbreaker for me. What are some of the better phones that I can get that still have the jack? Camera quality isn't a big deal to me. And while I'm not a big cinephile or anything, I would like a sharp screen. The Xperia 1 II and 5 II seem good, but they don't have 5G support. There's also the Pixel 4A 5G, but I'm not sure if that's the more "affordable" version of something better. Assume that budget/price is not an issue. I Any resources or general direction on what the most reliable sources are for research on this topic would be greatly appreciated. I have only ever used Galaxy phones throughout my teen/early adult years, but I know that there are a lot more out there. [link] [comments] |
