| Accidentally turned off systemUI, is my phone bricked? Posted: 25 Jun 2021 11:10 AM PDT I was watching Netflix on a Samsung Galaxy S8 and got a call - putting it in picture-in-picture mode. I declined, and I assume that loading back into Netflix with it also in a window caused a crash. A message saying 'systemUI is not responding' (or something along those lines.) Not paying attention, I clicked 'Turn Off,' but was still able to restart the phone. However, the only thing that seems to work is the vibration from pushing where the Home button would be. Do I just need to wait for my battery to run out and restart the device, or is it bricked? [link] [comments] |

| Text messages no longer read aloud in car via bluetooth Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:39 AM PDT I commute daily to work and am constantly getting important text messages I am no longer to hear that is normally read to me so I can respond. I tried looking online for the correct settings and even had to re-pair my bluetooth to my phone but it's still not working. Am I missing something? It happened after one of the updates but can't remember which one. If I have to use a third party app then that's fine but Google Assistant just isn't doing it's job anymore for reading my text messages aloud. [link] [comments] |
| Home Network Wi-fi reconnection issue (Android: Moto G8) Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:34 AM PDT I have a Moto G8. It connects to my home wifi network just fine, but if I leave and come back it shows my home network as "Disabled" and will not connect or even truly try to connect to anything until I restart my phone. I'm not too keen on restarting my phone every single time I come home. I've tried enabling and disabling airplane mode, wifi, automatically connect to wifi. This only recently started happening after I hit my data limit and started to adjust background data permissions for a bunch of apps. Could an app have that affect? | Smartphone advice under 6.5 inch Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:13 AM PDT I'm currently looking to upgrade from my huawei p10 and I'm looking for a phone that is not too big. Most important aspects for me are: size (not bigger than 6.5 inch screen), camera, battery. As of now, i think the s21 and the pixel 5 come closest to what i'd like. | Pictures won't load on apps, but will load on my gallery Posted: 25 Jun 2021 07:29 AM PDT (I don't know if I used the right flair and if I did I'm sorry) So I use a J7 V it's been my phone for maybe about 3 -4 years now. I use Verizon but I don't know if that will be valuable for this. I've had plenty of problems with my phone, it's sensitive when hit in places(aka it shuts off), YouTube will get stuck on my screen when I go to minimize it to a corner or try to enter the app by clicking the minimized video causing me to restart my phone multiple times, but a new one started last night. Now I use Instagram and Discord very often. But suddenly none of my pictures would load when I looked at my gallery from the app. On Instagram it showed nothing and for discord it showed those little Mountains I don't really know what they are called. Now in my gallery app they load perfectly fine. But when I would take pictures I could only see those newer pictures. I've tried looking up ways to solve this but I've found only links to fix iphones and for this problem only happening in the default message apps. | Not getting notifications if the app is off Posted: 25 Jun 2021 07:20 AM PDT So when turn close an app I stop getting all notifications from it. I could have swore this didn't happen before. Is there some setting about running in the background I can fiddle with to fix this issue? Apps like Instagram and whatsapp don't show me the notification for my messages until I open the app up. | white bar with text when typing not appearing Posted: 25 Jun 2021 07:02 AM PDT so basically, for certain apps/games, and im typing, a white bar would appear at the top of the screen to show what im typing. now whenever i type, instead of a white bar appearing, the actual bar that im typing in (not the white bar) would go ontop of my keyboard. basically the whole screen would move up until the actual bar im typing in goes ontop of my keyboard. ive been using gboard for the longest time and this has never happened either. i tried another keyboard and the same issue had occured http://imgur.com/a/KGchRDD (in this case its roblox but theres literally no settings regarding text/typing so i would assume its device settings) oh and my device is Oppo A3s [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Jun 2021 06:13 AM PDT Hey, there has been a common error in samsung galaxy A series phones where sometimes you wont be able to receive or make any call until you restart the device or toggle airplane mode. so the fix is, you have to simply disable google chrome app from app settings ( you may install chrome beta if you really love chrome) thats it! enjoy! I really hate this change, I've been unable to figure out a way to reverse it or change a setting to put it back to the old way. If I'm not being clear, when I hit the mic on the google search widget, it now opens up google assistant for my search.
