| Posted: 23 Jun 2021 01:59 AM PDT Hey I'm not sure where to post this but my phone has been freaking me out. I've had it for about 1.5 months (Google pixel 4a, same number I've had for 6 years.) Everything was fine. I'm not sure when it started, but weird stuff has been happening. I've been getting a lot of calls from the same area code and if I answer nobody is there and if I don't answer they don't leave a voicemail. I was on a call with my mom and it said the call ended and before I could call her back, I was receiving a call from her and I answered it and she said her call never dropped and she definitely didn't call me again. Then after that call I tried to call my sister but my phone told me an app was using my microphone and I couldn't place the call (it didn't specify which app.) Then I'm on my phone just now doing something in a Google drive account and I got a Google alert that I'd added this random phone number to THREE of the emails I have on my phone. I've gotten about three emails from Instagram saying that a login was attempted. My Spotify forced me to change my password because it said something suspicious was happening. I've checked Instagram and Facebook and Gmail and everywhere for my recent logins or active sessions and they're all me. I just started deleting any apps that I'm unsure of but I'm really scared and don't know what else I can do. I really don't want to factory reset my phone because my passwords are so complicated but I guess I might have to do that. Any idea what's going on though? [link] [comments] |

| How should I go about changing a rounded display to a rectangular display? Posted: 23 Jun 2021 12:16 PM PDT I copped a Samsung A10e and so far it's been pretty nice aside from one feature that irks me which is the rounded screen. It blocks a part of display on some games and makes the status bar look strange, especially with the camera dimple thing. Is there a good way to change this so that the parts of the screen which are rounded aren't displayed? (The screen on this phone is AMOLED so having those bars there while the rest of the screen is normal with navigation buttons, display, status bar, etc. wouldn't be an issue for me.) I'd rather have a rectangular display than a rounded display with rounded corners. It blocks parts of some apps, I just don't understand it. Any help is appreciated. TL;DR: I want to change my rounded corner display to show a smaller display that hides the rounded corners by not showing them. EDIT: I did some searches and found this post but I'd like some extra confirmation that this works. It says that you can use ADB commands (which I'm not familiar with but seem pretty easy to manage) and I'd like to ask also is this a good way to go about it? I know that the rounded screens are somewhat of a trivial feature bit it's more of a pet peeve. Posted: 23 Jun 2021 11:39 AM PDT So today my Xiaomi mi a2 lite's vibration stopped out of nowhere, I didn't dropped the phone or damaged it in any way BUT when I tried using vibration apps the phone vibrates normally. I tried using safe mode, restarting the phone and switched vibration on and off in the settings but it still only works with vibration apps. Does anyone know what it is? I presume it must have come preinstalled on my phone since I can't find it in the play store. I have a Motorola phone, and my plan is Boost. Posted: 23 Jun 2021 08:37 AM PDT I have 3 Samsung Galaxy A7 Tablets in my car. 1 is mounted in the center of the dashboard and the other 2 are mounted behind the headrests for the passengers in the rear. I currently have a 5G, dual-band (2.4g / 5g) Wi-Fi router connected to a 5TB external SSD that contains several thousands of different movies, music videos and music which can all be accessed by the tablets to play directly from the external SSD or the tablets can each access live streaming apps like: YouTube TV, Hulu, Disney+ etc. All of the SSD files and live streaming apps work flawlessly with no lag nor loading / buffering times. Each tablet can be connected to the car's audio system via bluetooth and can also connect to the bluetooth headphones in the door closest to each tablet. I'd like to complete this project by being able to do the following: Using the tablet in the front, I want to be able to mirror the screen to both tablets in the rear simultaneously. If I want to watch a movie or music video from the car server's SSD, it will not only display on the front tablet but also on both rear tablets as well. If I want to watch live TV on YouTube TV or Hulu, I'd like all 3 screens to be able to display in sync. Is there an app for this type of feature? I'm not looking for something like teamviewer where I will lose video quality on the "slave" displays or even the "host" display. Screen stream doesn't really work properly as it creates an ip address / site the other devices connect to and the image is very small and quality is very poor. VLC HDR Remote doesn't work at all. If there is no app, what about something that can be hardwired? For reference, I am running an OPPO Find X3 Pro on Android 11 (ColorOS 11.2). Whenever I connect my phone to my car, the screen refresh rate automatically drops to 60Hz. However, after disconnecting my phone from the car's USB, the option to have High Refresh Rate (120Hz) enabled is greyed out, and I am unable to select it. It only becomes an option again when I reset my phone completely. Is there a way of fixing it so that disconnecting from the car automatically closes Android Auto and re-enables High Refresh Rate? | How do I customize notifications for Google/Gmail chat? Posted: 23 Jun 2021 08:02 AM PDT Apologies if this has already been asked; I searched the sub and couldn't find anything... Anyway, I recently made the switch from Hangouts to Google/Gmail chat, and the notifications are driving me crazy. In Hangouts, I was able to disable sounds and vibrations while still allowing the new message icon in the status bar. (I don't want my phone to buzz or chime every time I receive a message, I just want to see the icon in the status bar.) Within the Gmail app, however, the only notification option specific to chat seems to be on/off, all or nothing. I even set the Gmail notifications to silent (no sound or vibration) via Android settings, but my phone (stock Pixel 5) still buzzes and chimes whenever I get a message. However the System Auto setting doesn't seem to be working. As far as I can tell, this is because the theme labelled "Default" is exactly the same as "Default Dark", but I can't figure out how to change the default to a light colour, or have System Auto work? The three icons I have in the Gboard themes page are "System auto" / "Default" / "Default Dark" - all show a dark image. I don't have any themes in "My themes".
