Galaxy tab a SM-T280 worth as a spotify player? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 09:37 AM PDT We had an unused tablet from 2016, that I connected to my vintage hifi setup. It works ok for a couple days, until the 8gb internal memory is messed up by bloatware and stuff. My cheap SD-card lasted longer than expected (r.i.p), and now the headphone out is messing the sound up. My idea was to reduce the tablet to a wifi connected spotify player, that's wired to the integrated amplifier It's been more than 10 years since I revived a computer with linux. Apparently things changed lol, and it looks harder, though not impossible... So... removing bloatware? Rooting? Any other possibilities to give this thing a second life? It's okay, if this thing is bricked. at least I tried lol. And, an additional question. Would a DAC improve sound? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2021 02:34 PM PDT Ok so, whenever I lock my phone and press the unlock button straight away the screen goes yellow and lags etc it ONLY ever happens when I press the lock button and unlock fast. Note 9. [link] [comments] |
Weird Comparison: Motorola Edge Plus vs. Pixel 4a Posted: 01 Jun 2021 02:29 PM PDT My carrier is offering a deal on certified pre-owned phones. I was going to get a pixel 4a however, I saw that I could get the Motorola for about 175$ more. I'm well aware that the edge plus is a flagship and has a lot more features than the pixel 4a however, there are still some real drawbacks such as software and camera (this is less significant though). I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the edge plus more specifically and if I should just pay the extra bit of cash and get what on paper is a much better phone. Thanks for any help! Anybody have advice cutting video? Having some troubles. Need a decent app. Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:30 AM PDT Trying to pull clips from 1080p video files. Let me start by saying I really don't like Cyber director and all of those huge project apps. Have found a solid one but the file sizes are just massive. A 4 minute clip (from a 1080p 70 minute 550MB file) is 400 MB. I believe the problem here is I'm creating a new "project" like all these apps. Then I found one that cuts it great and fast but the seeking is not accurate at all and the first 0.25 seconds is always corrupted. Also compressing/converting would be nice, if not a separate decent app. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! I've tried to ask this a few times is there a better sub as well? What's a good use for my old device? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 10:13 AM PDT I have a really old tablet running on android 4.1, latest versions of almost all apps either don't work or they lag, is there something useful I can do with it? Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
Notifications remain on phone when I access them on the PC Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:51 PM PDT Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Verizon So, say I get a Facebook Messenger notification. If I go on the PC and log into messenger, it used to clear the notification on my phone when I had my S9. Now, however, the notification remains with my S21 Ultra. Also, previously, there was always a few seconds delay between a notification popping on my phone, and it happening on PC. However, with the S21 Ultra, that few seconds has turned into a few minutes. Anyone have any idea what might be happening? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:51 PM PDT I had a SIM swapping scam on me last week and got a new T-Mobile Tracfone SIM card to fix it (I don't even know if I need a new one, old one was AT&T apparently). After it's all done being set up, there is now a 1 in front of my phone number and all phone numbers that come in. How do I fix this to the way it was before all this happened? Phone is LG V20 with Android 7.0 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:50 PM PDT Lenovo is releasing the Yoga Pad Pro in china, and has yet to announce whether it will come to the US. I've always loved the Yoga tablets, and my current one is on its last legs. If I import it, will it work in English and on US WiFi signals? Is there any pattern of when to expect a US launch if any? Real time write with a pen app Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:44 PM PDT I am interested in finding an app (similar to OneNote or Microsoft's Whiteboard) that works both on Android and on iOS, where 2 people can write (with a pen) at the same time. The real time text is mandatory. Microsoft's OneNote and Whiteboard were supposed to do that but it doesn't. There is a lag between what i say (on a voice chat app), what i write and what the other person hears. OneNote in particular is awful of syncing ...sometimes even 2h are gone and still the other person can't see what i wrote. To put it into perspective, assume i'm teaching someone something. I need to voice chat (got that covered), both people write down with pens (one on a Samsung S7+ Tablet and the other person is using an Ipad). We need to text to appear in real time. Currently I'm using Miro which allows me to do so, but the free version is limited and the payed version is way way overpriced for my needs. If you think this question is not suited best in this channel, please direct me in the right direction [link] [comments] |

Google popup for connecting wireless earbuds Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:24 PM PDT So yesterday I wanted to listen to some music, so I turned on bluetooth and picked up my wireless Sony WF-1000XM3. I was suprised, because I saw popup with a Google style font, which was saying that I can connect to my earbuds (https://imgur.com/wXuDEFv). I can't see it now. Can you help me how can I enable it by default? This thing is so good. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Jun 2021 12:15 PM PDT Hello all! I have a Pocophone F1 and I've been thinking about rooting. Would a clean install before rooting be useful? Would bring any benefit or can I just root it as it is? Thank you. [link] [comments] |

Screencast not working since Android 10 Posted: 01 Jun 2021 11:20 AM PDT On my old Xperia 3 I had no issues (and still don't) screencasting to my Samsung NU8009 TV. On my Motorola Power 7 and Power 9 I can't get it working whatsoever. I've tried everything. Of course both are on the same Wifi, bluetooh and location are enabled and the latest firmware is installed on every device. I even went ahead and successfully connected the TV and Phone via Wi-Fi direct, but screen casts still finds nothing. I'm at a loss. Can anyone help? [link] [comments] |
How do I change permissions settings in 11? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 11:07 AM PDT Like I'm trying to have OneDrive upload files but since upgrading to Android 11 my only options are either "ask every time" or "only while using the app" and neither of those are of any use, is there any way to have it always be on no matter if I'm using the app or not? YouTube music question moving cities Posted: 01 Jun 2021 10:44 AM PDT Hello everyone, I'm moving cities actually to an entirely different province from my parents and understand they may lose the music subscription even I move to the one city and new province. I'm curious is there any way for them to keep using my YouTube music subscription after I move? Thanks for your help in advance. I would love my family to be about to utilize my account too. :). Question about saving cards for later reading from the google app Posted: 01 Jun 2021 04:08 AM PDT The Google App that shows flashcards based on interests and news etc. Sometimes when there are 4 or 5 stories I want to read if I accidently close the app after reading a story and come back to the google app all the cards are new. I've taking to clicking share and email the link to myself but I halve to imagine there is a better way to save the stores for later so I can read them at my leisure. There is a heart icon but I dont know if that saves the story somewhere or just acts like a thumbs up to shape future card selection. I tried googling the answer but when the app is called Google well doesn't return helpful results. I sure could use some human evaluation of my question. Thanks for any and all help. Posted: 01 Jun 2021 09:52 AM PDT Hi! I have a tablet that I haven't used it in a year =\-, now I wanted to power it up but the battery is (ofc) dead. I plugged in the tablet but right after plugging it, it's showing an empty battery then it starts...The problem is that the battery is too low and is in a boot loop... Is there any way to stop that boot loop and let the battery just charge? [link] [comments] |
Will Huawei devices work on U.S. carriers? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 09:50 AM PDT Hey all - I purchased a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro not long ago, as the description claimed it would fully work on U.S. carriers. It does not, at all. I am wondering if Huawei devices will work on carriers such as AT&T or Verizon? With the P50 Pro soon to be announced, I'm really hopefully others have had success using Huawei in the U.S. Also, side question: are there any subreddits that are meant for buying/selling devices? Like I Said, I'm stuck with a Xiaomi that I can't use and have no idea where to sell it. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Anyone that's had the LG V60 for a year, how has it held up? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 09:38 AM PDT I'm tempted to get one at the open box prices I'm seeing on ebay, but I'm concerned about the longevity of the device. (Not so much software updates but the physical aspects) I was burned by LG before with the V10 before it eventually bootlooped, but the V60 has nearly all the physical aspects of a phone I want. (Big battery, plenty of storage with an SD card slot, headphone jack, water resistance) Does the phone still perform well, as in there's no screen burn in or any other issues that couldn't be fixed with a factory reset? I know it's a glass device and I plan on buying a case and screen protector for it. [link] [comments] |

Does Android have an option to block local network access for apps? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:52 AM PDT Something similar to the iOS setting that can block an app from accessing other devices on the local network. https://imgur.com/LF9Zfgy I would think that this helps prevent wifi fingerprinting. Is there an Android equivalent for this? Either as a setting or through an app? [link] [comments] |
