    The google play services logo just changed to a G, i know this may seem like I'm overthinking but i am just wondering if this is normal or is it malware or something. I own a xiaomi mi mix 2.

    Mibox switches between old UI und the new UI

    My mibox is switching between the old UI and the new one, this happens randomly with no apparent reasson, sometime when i power it on, its the new one, after a while (when it's still on) it switches back to the old one.

    I really don't know what i could do about it, it's pretty irritating to always be suprised wich ui it is now haha

    Can someone relate or even know a fix for this?

    Xiaomi Mi TV 4S: Is it possible to create a restricted profile?

    I'm wondering if it's possible to create a restricted profile on the Xiaomi Mi TV 4S. I know it's possible on the MiBox 4K (Settings -> Device Preferences -> Security & Restrictions) and I presume it's the same on the Mi TV since it's running Android TV, but could anyone confirm before I purchase? I'm buying online so can't test it out beforehand! Thanks!

    New Shield Experience Update to v8.2.3. Does NOT add Google TV (Thankfully). Safe to install, but requires 2 installs for some reason.

    Adds new device support, and security patch through April 2021.

    Details:

    Edit: Not sure why it required 2 installs, but this happened on both of my Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 models.

    Edit 2: Actually, it looks like this update is bugged and is not properly installing, even after a number of attempts. Probably best to avoid this for now.

    Edit 3: Follow the advice here if the update is not installing for you, this worked for me. Seems to be buggy with 2019 models:

    I have a Sony tv, and hooked up an old Bose lifestyle system with no hdmi. If I'm watching sports, Netflix, or Amazon, the stereo switches to 5.1. If i try to watch something something on Hulu, HBO or Disney+ that says it supports it, it stays at 2.0. Anyone have any issues with this?

    Live Channels app on Chromecast with Google TV

    How come the Live Channels app from Android TV has not been ported over to the Google TV platform? I like the UI on Google TV better than Android TV, but I use HD HomeRun networked TV tuners and the Live Channels app is awesome for secondary tv's like in my bedroom or garage.

    Kids profile support on 3rd party TVs powered by Google TV

    Hi, I just got my Sony A90J, powered by the new Google TV. Amazing product, love the new Google TV interface, but it doesn't seem to support adding a kids profile yet. (See approx halfway down on this page https://www.tomsguide.com/news/google-tv-meet-the-new-smart-tv-software-coming-to-sony-and-tcl-tvs-this-year).

    We're in Singapore so not sure of this is a country-specifoc feature (i.e. US only?) Or if Google TV on 3rd party tvs don't yet support this feature?

    (Next is getting my wife's account connected too!)

    Use phone as an android tv

    Hello,

    I'm upgrading phones soon. I have a note 10 with a cracked screen. I love the phone and don't want to shove it in a drawer and never use it. The chip it has is still pretty great and storage is decent. I had an idea to turn it into a more powerful version of the new chromecast. I have a powered USB C to HDMI adapter and can run dex with a wireless keyboard but I'd prefer it if I could have a more tv instead of pc-like experience.

    I installed the APK of android tv but it kind of crapped out. I then tried to use another tv launcher and a chromecast remote which is fairly okay but no apps are optimized for a tv experience. I tried downloading the netflix tv apk designed for the tv but my phone won't install it. Is this a dead dream? How can I create my snapdragon powered android tv experience? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Best Android TV box for me?

    Hello!

    I recently became interested in an Android TV Box when I saw this video on how to create a dock for a PS Vita. I wanted to take it a step further however. Are there any Android TV Boxes on the market that will allow the capture of audio of my Vita through the 3.5mm port on the Vita, say through 3.5mm port from the Vita to a 3.5mm port on the Android TV Box, to be output via my TV while simultaneously capturing the video feed? If it helps, I have an Insignia Amazon Fire TV.

    Chromecast Google TV - Does turn off AV Receiver (Samsung)

    Hi there

    I've a Chromecast Google TV and a Samsung TV with a Samsung Surround System which I've connected via ARC HDMI. Now, after 15-20min, the Surround Systems turns automatically off and on again. If you're watching a Movie, this is not really funny ;). Do you have any solution / similar problem?

    Remote button remap HELP

    I want to remap the YT button (for ad free YT) And the rec button (for plex) I downloaded button remapper app (enabled it in accessibility)

    And it working kind of Only the double tap is working Single tap and long tap still sent me to the original button destination (even tho I changed it)

    I even donated to the app to open all features Any help?
