I connected my phone and laptop to it, no problems. Today I went to add my dad's phone and it started downloading data like anything. It downloaded around 700 mb in few seconds. I investigated, and it is "Google" app which is using this data. I don't have auto updates enabled. I restricted play store background data usage, I disabled Google for background apps, but it is still downloading data like that only. I tried my mom's phone and same story, it is downloading data like anything. Dad's Google drive is like, 500 mb so I don't think there is some syncing or anything going on. As per the router, data is downloading and not uploading. I don't know what is happening and how can I prevent this from happening. Also, I just checked my own phone while writing this question, I can see "Google" downloaded 2.5 GB yesterday on Wi-Fi. Can I prevent this from happening? I have 3-4 more devices and I don't want this to happen on all of them. [link] [comments] |
| Unable to clear Google Play Services data Posted: 26 Mar 2021 10:54 AM PDT I was able to clear the cache but when I try to clear the data, the settings app crash. The reason why I am doing so is because my games are not connecting to Google servers. As a result, I am unable to purchase any microtransactions in game. I have tested which apps' IAP is available. Weirdly enough, only games are affected. Apps such as reddit is still connected to google and allowing IAP. Does anyone know a fix for this? Edit: I have tried to delete Google Play Games and the microtransactions are back after deletion. I think there is a bug or corrupted data but I dont know where it is from. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Mar 2021 05:45 AM PDT hi, not sure if anyone can help me. im looking for an app or way that will block outgoing texts/calls but will still allow them to come in. ideally it would be an app that makes you jump through a lot of barrels to send something. I know that there are some drunk calling apps but they seem to just be for like 12 hours and im not sure you can still get incoming. i have borderline personality disorder and when im going crazy i basically lose control of myself and send messages that i later feel like complete shit about, they make the person i send them too feel like shit in one way or another and i make life worse for everyone. i want to make sure people can contact me still though so i cant block their number, if someone is worried i want to let them know im still around. being crazy like this has ruined every element of my life the last 30 years. i can easily say i wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy because i am my worst enemy. im concerned if i ever get really bad and end things that i will call or text someone in a distraught emotional state and traumatize them. i know to anyone normal you could say,"well dont do that" but if i could control this i wouldnt be where i am in life. ive been seeing therapists and on meds off over 20 years of my life, ive tried erasing numbers but some i have memorized, ill write things out somewhere else but sometimes i still send them anyway... basically i am a bad person and terrible friend and i need all the help i can get to stop spreading my mental problems to others. if there isnt such an app could someone tell me if its possible to create one and if so the easiest way to go about making it? im good logically when my brain isnt overpowered by its disfunctional emotional side, i know the basics of coding and its important enough to me i would figure it out eventually. any help would be appreciated. thanks. Later as we all found out, it was the Android System Webview and Google Chrome apps causing the crashes. Everything was fine after until now. When I open the Aliexpress app it doesn't display any images. I've tried uninstalling and updating Android System Webview but it's still not working despite Android System Webview updating. I did have to uninstall system webview for the issue the other day. Currently, when I pull down on the notifacation bar it does not lock in place, so I cannot click on my notifications. In addition when I pull up my camera it is spinning from normal to selfie mode or changing from full to 4:3 etc. Finally it keeps turning the screen on and trying to read facial recognition over and over. I noticed that under settings, "delete old messages" was the default selected- which, besides for being dumb to have as default, doesn't track, because the texts aren't missing chronolohically, it's just at random, so I don't think that's the reason. I tried switching to two different messaging apps as the default, neither worked. I have some important info in some texts- is there any way of recovering them?? Basically i need to monitor my internet provider, because i have had numerous disconnects daily the past week and of course they say they can't find anything wrong......and it just is very annoying with home office and everything currently :( For example something like checking every 6 seconds if the connection is okay via accessing www.google.com or so and then logging if the connection is made and if not logging if there is no connection. Logging would be best if it would be with a timestamp. Is there and APP that is able to do something like that? | was a little disappointed about the oneplus 9 and thinking of getting s21+ Posted: 26 Mar 2021 04:27 AM PDT so i was waiting for the oneplus 9 and wanted to get it but after it release i didnt like it that much the camera is much better than last gen but still was just overhyped and not as good as i thought it will be. for me the most important thing in a phone is better lasting battery and every review i saw said that the op9 battery is so-so and not as good as the s21+/ultra while the op9pro is even worse. so now i can get a deal on the s21+ which will cost me just a bit more than the op9 and also getting buds pro for free, and i mean i did some pros and cons and the s21+ had a better camera and battery life while having pretty much the same screen(i know the op9 charging time is way better but i dont care about it as much as just having the battery just last longest on a single charge). so i just wanted to hear thought and what ppl think should i go op9 or s21+ [link] [comments] |

When I connect it to my laptop via USB, Windows detects the phone just fine, but I can't access my files, since my phone's default mode for USB connection is charging. Obviously, I can't possibly switch to file transfer mode the traditional way (by selecting the option from the phone itself), seeing that my screen is dead. When I use my 3.5mm headset and listen to spotify while on a Teams/Zoom call I can hear Spotify just fine. But when I use my Bluetooth earbuds the Spotify/Youtube audio quality drops a lot, but the call is fine and as soon as I leave the call Spotify audio quality improves. When using the clock widget incl weather icons on the homepage it works perfect when we are at home. But after 3-4 days in a new location suddenly the weather icon on the clock widget is gone. I'm trying to find a solution through google or reddit but it doesnt show useful responses :( (Or maybe there is too much crap on the search words). By the way, i have a samsung S9+ (SM-G955F Android 9-Pie) and it suddenly stoped fast charging, then it started rejecting chargers alltogheter, but today i tryed a USB in my computer port and it's working. The phone didnot: - Droped on the floor - Got wet - Had previous battery problem - Had a recent system update (last one was weeks before the problem). Here's what i already tryed: - Switching charging cable - Switching charger - Switching wich wall i plug the charger - Reseting configurations (but not the one that swipes out everything) Here's what i'm gonna try today: - Clean reseting The main difference was that recently i installed mobile legends and it may provoked a spike in temperature, but the function came back yesterday, fast charging and all for no reason, then it stopped again. I experienced the problem & rolled back to the default version. After a couple of days I installed the March 22 version that's in my play store. That version flaked out again and I uninstalled again. I figured I'd let the dust settle and satellites align and let the play store catch up, so I checked again right now (~8am eastern time US) and the version I see is March 22 ver 89.0.4389.105. Is this the latest/current version? I thought I saw that there was a March 23 version that was correct. [link] [comments] |
