Samsung Dex + Moonlight + Cheap Switch Dock Posted: 29 Mar 2021 08:59 PM PDT I'm probably not the first person to do this but I didn't see anything about it already, and figured it was worth a share. Apparently, not only can you launch Samsung Dex using a cheap Nintendo Switch dock (got mine off amazon for around $20 a while back), but it works flawlessly with Moonlight for streaming games. I have already set up Moonlight with NVidia's game streaming forewarded all necessary ports. I can now plug that little dock into any tv where my phone has a solid internet connection and have full access (albeit with some latency, but not too much) to my entire Steam library from my home pc. Just wanted to let everyone know this was possible and useful. Also much faster at controlling desktop remotely than using a VNC. Hope this isn't old news, enjoy! ^^ [link] [comments]

Will Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra's Global Launch shake things up Posted: 29 Mar 2021 07:32 PM PDT Yes the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has some impressive specs. The previous Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra all but delivered on its spec sheet and its more than likely the Mi 11 Ultra will do so too. The Mi 10 Ultra lived up to its DxOMark, its notable issue being battery life but it came with a very fast charger. It was a very good ultra phone but its biggest issue was that it was limited to China. But the Mi 11 Ultra is going to be a global launch and it will have Google and Android. Huawei got derailed after losing Google and Android, or else the market would have looked very different today. So can Xiaomi shake things up? How accessible can Xiaomi get in every market and will customers be willing to leave their ecosystem? What do you all think. [link] [comments]

Asus Rog Phone 5 - First Impressions from Non-Reviewer Posted: 29 Mar 2021 08:21 AM PDT Model D - 256gb and 16gb RAM Great build quality Excellent connections over WiFi and cellular in my area Amazing DAC for the 3.5mm jack (best I've ever heard on a phone) Battery goes a day and half ending at 30%. Then charges to full in less than 30 mins. Some heat when gaming as expected AeroActive Cooler 5 already broke a pin off. I'm reviewing warranty options now. This is unfortunate because the extra two buttons are very well placed for gaming. Reviewers, sellers, and possibly Asus are not entirely sure which models get what. Mine came with the AeroActive and came in the fancier box but it is not the Pro version. If buying, make certain to confirm which model before purchasing. Model A appears to the best for the US but B and D work too. My only gripe is the cooler design is flawed and fragile. The previous design was much better. Even when working it would disconnect. [DISCUSSION] When do you think 32-bit apps will be totally abandoned on Android? Posted: 28 Mar 2021 10:27 PM PDT Considering how Google has made it clear that they won't show 32-bit apps on the Play Store when accessed via a 64-bit compatible device post August 2021 and the way ARM has announced that post 2022 all their CPUs will be 64-bit only (no backward compatibility for 32bit apps). When do you think 32-bit apps would become a history on android? [link] [comments]
