| What map creation tool can I use for Google Maps Ground Overlays? Posted: 28 Mar 2021 05:12 AM PDT Looking to use Ground Overlays in order to display a building's indoor map with multiple floors in my Android app. Is there a free tool / platform that I can use to easily create the indoor map? I want to get the entire text for a conversation on twitter. Basically the entire thread. Now this can be potentially be hundreds of tweets. I want to do this client side (not server side) because then I will need to get into some api deal with Twitter. Is there a way where this can be done ? From documentation, it seems to indicate that I have to get the user to go through a 3-legged twitter auth to have this happen https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/authentication/oauth-1-0a/obtaining-user-access-tokens Any less painful way ? | Adopting test driven development, CI/CD to native android development Posted: 28 Mar 2021 06:12 AM PDT Hi everyone 👋🏽, I have been in mobile development industry for quite sometime and have good understanding about writing decoupled code with MVVM and Dependency Injection. But non of the companies I worked didn't had the practice of TDD or CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, Bitrise etc). I want to adopt TDD, CI/CD for native android development. I have been watching videos on YouTube (Keynote etc, some videos of Bitrise) but still I don't get the complete picture of the development cycle since they either discuss UI testing, Unit testing, Integration testing, continuous integration separately. Appreciate if someone could shed some light how whole thing works together My current understanding is that, When we get designs, we first implement the designs in XML. Since now we have IDs for views we can write UI testing. After that we write the logic to satisfy the UI tests. Along the way if we need business logic we write Unit testing and the implementation for business logic. After we complete one feature we write integration tests? Finally when it's all done when we need to send PR and merge to release/master branch. It triggers CI/CD pipeline for building and executing these tests. | How to protect the Admob account from spammers? Posted: 27 Mar 2021 11:06 PM PDT Hello Admob/Adsense users, I'm an Android App Developer who got good success on Play Store. I was using Admob for monetisation purpose and admob was generating good amount for me. I was happy with the result, but one morning I saw a email stating the Admob was disabled for Invalid Activity. As far as I know, a lot of app developers have suffered from this. I even did some steps in the apps to prevent inflation of the clicks by keeping track of ad clicks via admob's ad listener. I was using sharedpreferences to count the clicks. So, no data was collected about the user's personal or non personal info. When ad was clicked, I stopped showing ads to the user for certain amount of time. But, it was not enough to prevent the inflation of the click(invalid activity) as spammer can clear the app's data and re click the ad to create invalid activity. Few other ways I can think of which may help in preventing invalid activity, - Keep track of Clicks as usual - Check if App is downloaded from Play Store - Certificate Pinning So, I'm asking what are the ways that we can prevent such behaviour and protect the adsense account? | How can I estimate the size of images shown in my app? Posted: 27 Mar 2021 10:47 AM PDT I am hoping to make some back of the envelope calculations regarding how much data and memory would be used by my app architecture. But I'm unsure where to start estimating how large an image would need to be for various screen types. I tried reading up on how different devices have different pixel densities, but am unsure how to translate the dpi of a device into how much memory the bitmap for a, say, one inch by inch image would actually use. How can I get a ballpark estimate of this? Edit: these are image thumbnails being downloaded for a social media app, not images built into the apk [link] [comments] | ||
