Library failing to load (shows only this time)

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 07:11 AM PST

Over the past week, I have been trying to get my Google TV devices to load up my TV show content, but all I get is a message about failing to load.

My purchased movies in my library play without a problem. It just seems to be the shows.

I have tried restarting the device, and I have force stopped the app and cleared both cash and data. I have updated the software on the device to the most current.

I have not tried to factory reset the device because I don't want to have to log into every single one of my streaming services again.

Is anyone else seeing this? Does anyone have a solution?

[TUTORIAL] Android TV Home on Chromecast w/ Google TV

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 07:06 AM PST

So I finally found a way to install the stock Android TV launcher on Google TV. It's fairly simple.

First you'll need an app called "App Cloner" version 2.4.9 — I would link it but everytime I post a link to an app reddit deletes my post. The app you're looking for has a dark blue background with a white DNA icon.

Install in to your TV via sideload. On your TV, go to play store and search for either Leanback Launcher (Android TV Launcher) or Android TV Home. If you choose to use Android TV Home you'll also need Android TV Core Services.

Once all three of those apps are installed, open App Cloner. Find "Android TV Home/Launcher" and Clone it. Install the cloned app and you're done. You now have Android TV back. Or Leanback if that's what you chose.

    Cannot log in on Google

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 05:01 AM PST

So me and my family bought Disney+, and we want to download it on our Philips TV. We connected to the wifi, and we're trying to get into the play store to download disney+. However, when we try to log in (with the email and password that is 100% correct) the TV says that the password or email is incorrect. How do we download disney plus on our TV? And/or how do we log in onto a Google account

So with the use of a VPN on my ccwgtv I got what I think is about as close as I'm going to get to the new android TV UI w/o ads & imo if it's like this I could live with it

Is Google Drive available on Android TV ?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 10:10 PM PST

I wanted to pick up an Android TV box from Amazon so i can watch my media from Google Drive.

Is this possible without having to do a bunch of confusing stuff like on Apple TV and Roku ?

    Thanks.

Has Disney+ fixed the Dolby Vision and Atmos support issue on the Google TV?

I knew this issue has been identified since day one. I wonder if Disney+ has fixed this issue?

Google TV Home update for CCwGT makes the app icons even smaller!

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:32 AM PST

I just updated the Google tv home app and it made the app icons even smaller! Has anyone figured out how to put the normal android tv launcher on yet? I tried the wolf launcher but I don't like it. I still want youtube recommendations/subscriptions on my home screen.

    Tivo 4k vs nvidia shield?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 04:13 PM PST

What one should I go with for mainly watching video content?

I like the shield better because of the Ethernet port, but is it rly worth the extra $100 for it and speed boost?

Coming to Google TV from a Fire TV Box/Stick

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 07:31 PM PST

This is the Snow variant of the Chromecast with Google TV. Picked it up today after a large annoyance with the UI and overall functionality of a Fire TV. Here are the relative (to FireOS) pros and cons that I've noticed, as well as some comments on features I think would greatly help this out.

Firstly, the obvious Pros (in no specific order):

    • Snappy UI, compared to all the Fire TV lineups, it's just faster than them all.
    • "Cleaner" UI, this is more opinion but I just think the UI is cleaner.
    • Better integration, Google Assistant and Home just work faster than the Alexa app in my experience.

And the 1 con (which isn't even compared to the Fire TV, which also lacks a similar feature)

    • The lack of multi-user support on the home, the Fire TV also does not have this feature (though they do make progress).

I hope not only that I'll continue to enjoy my new Google TV but that it will continue getting features making it a great product.

    DON'T SPOIL IF THERE'S NOTHING

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 02:07 PM PST

Don't see the point of announcing an update ( talking google ones and the android tv home app ) if it doesn't come within a week

I mean they are oem / OS builders aside when they say they do and it's there

I mean google is big we all know that how come they cannot push updates widely and right on time

I found this crazy and want this update so bad because the launcher right now is ugly and not user friendly
