I just tested several video players, some can detect and play files in upnp (I'm using upnp server on my win7 computer sharing files), but none can resume play within upnp. Kodi has a bug with this, (resume play **:** is offered but it will start from beginning instead). I tried and it can resume play with removable disk (somebody said, smb is also good), just not with upnp. For years this bug has been reported but no answer. So, any other alternative? Just set up the new Google TV and when on the home page Google assistant will speak back jokes or weather or questions. However when I am in an app like YouTube TV or Netflix the Google assistant will just show the joke or information but not speak it back. | Netflix and other apps crash and exit on Android TV Posted: 08 Feb 2021 11:14 AM PST This is getting super frustrating. Netflix on my android TV just stutters and boots me out the application constantly back to the android home menu. Same was happening with other apps like Dis and Prime. I thought it may be because I bought a crap cheap sharp TV for like 400 bucks new. I guess you get what you pay for. However this still seems ridiculous. I contacted sharp and they sent me a software update on a USB stick which I put into the TV and did the update but no improvement. It cannot be that an android TV regardless of the price cannot process basic things like Netflix? What gives? I see other posts about apps not working on Android TV. | Change language of google Assistant from UK to US English Posted: 08 Feb 2021 09:15 AM PST I got a Philips Android TV about a month ago and connected it to my google account and everything works fine, but the Google Assistant on my TV is UK English, whereas all the settings on my phone for google assistant are set to English (US). It's not a super big deal but it is bothering me a little bit, because I have no idea how to change the language of the Google Assistant on my TV.
