    Slay the Spire?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 03:16 AM PST

So the whole internet gaming community is going on about how it releases on Android today (Wednesday, Feb 3).

I get it's only 6am but I mean shouldn't there be some Google Play placeholder, or something on their official website, etc?

    EDIT: it's here! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humble.SlayTheSpire

According to Electronic Arts, the highly-acclaimed console and PC battle-royale game Apex Legends will have a mobile soft-launch in China in the next 3-4 months. Previously the game was scheduled to have its first soft-release in late 2020 but it seems Covid-19 delayed the plan. Now it has been reported from the quarterly conference call that Apex Legends Mobile will be arriving within the next 4 months for China. Read more about this news here.

Cool oldy arcady short burst games?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 07:57 AM PST

It's prolly a bit vague, so let me elaborate.

I'm avid gamer, but not mobile gamer, and I like retro stuff too. Some old arcade style games are perfect to play on the phone, which is fairly large and always with me.

So far I have on my device there games:

    1. Arknoid vs Space Invaders
    2. Space Invaders Infinite Gene
    3. Q*bert
    4. Pacman256
    5. Pacman vs Wreck it Raplh
    6. Lemmings
    7. Galaga Wars
    8. Missile Command Reloaded
    9. Pong +
    10. Worms4
    11. Williams Pinball
    12. Minesweeper Go
    13. Tetris
    14. Monopoly

Those are mostly fairly old fairly simple games remade for modern phones and I like to play them from time to time. I think I dug most of them, but definitely not all. Does anyone have good suggestions for my little collection?

[DEV] Out of countless thrown away prototypes I finally managed to bring one to a release(ish) state. Draw, Match, Protect! is a TD game with some CCG and match 3 mechanics mixed in. No ads, no IAP, no price, all I want is your feedback!

[REQUEST] Games similar to fallout shelter.

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 06:47 AM PST

Basically I'm trying to find a game similar to fallout shelter. So far the only ones I've found are plagued with ads or the progression slows way down after a short time. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone actually completed a Final Fantasy game on their phone?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 01:30 PM PST

After attempting ix a few times and Dimensions a couple, I've always given up about 3 hours in.

I bought vi one night after a few beers and it's really clicked and now I'm over 30 hours in. The controls are clunky and awkward but other than that - it plays really well.

Anyway, a bit of a shitpost but what are other people's experiences?

How to limit FPS in games

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 10:39 PM PST

I have a Xiaomi Mi 10T, which can run at 144 Hz, however not all games can handle that. For example Rayman Adventures runs at 2x speed in this refresh rate, making the game so fast that it is unplayable. I haven't found a way to limit individual apps' FPS or refresh rate. Do you have the same issue (possibly with other games), and how do you solve it?

Hello everyone. Amateur gamer here. Advice needed regarding Grid:Autosport .

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 10:40 PM PST

Hey Guys, I am new to this subreddit. I am a big fan of F1(the sport).

I am considering buying Grid:Autosport. My query is that does it have an option of racing for multiple laps (not just 2-3 laps). I want a game that allows racing for at least 20 laps in a single race.

It'd be great if i could get some info regarding this from someone who already has the game. Thanks for reading. :-)

    [REQUEST] Single hero autobattler

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 10:56 PM PST

Hi there. I'm looking for an rpg-like game, where you can CREATE 1 SINGLE hero for yourself, and play with them like you would've expect from rpg-like games - level up, gear up and so on. It should not be just text, I want to see visual interface with inventory, skill slots e.t.c.. It also would be very nice if the game has some kind of "encounters" with choices.

Fights, as stated in the title, should be automatic or at least not action.

[REQUEST] Stock Trading Simulator type game

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 02:17 PM PST

With the ongoing Gamestop stock stuff, I have gotten very interested in stock markets and what better way to experience it first hand than by playing with fake money.

Now I've seen some websites which do this, but I'd prefer an android app. I don't know how these simulators work: would there be fake companies with randomly generated highs and lows, or would it be the real stock values with just simulated currency.

For me, anything is fine, as long as it is beginner friendly with some handy tutorials - either in game or in written/video format. I'd also request to suggest me a few of such games/apps which have increased complexity. Maybe some which will ramp up the difficulty/complexity as I "level" up.

S21 Ultra needs optimization for Genshin Impact

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 05:39 PM PST

I tested Genshin Impact on the S21 Ultra (SD 888). I averaged 40 FPS with 10 minutes of gameplay and device temps got up to 45C in front of device and 44 for back.

With that being said, I see a lot of people quick to put down the phone or chipset without realizing what's actually going on. This game is poorly optimized with bad coding. Which means devices will have to work twice as much or even harder. Therefore, this game is not a benchmark and this performance should not be referenced as benchmark that determines the devices' overall performance. Second, the chip is new and Samsung still has to further optimize the SOC. For those that follow my YouTube channel, you should be full aware how much the iPhone 12 A14 Bionic Chip improved with one update.

You can use this video as reference if you want to see results: https://youtu.be/BLktKSWUuI0

I'd say give it a good few months and performance should definitely improve.
