Posted: 23 Jan 2021 12:07 AM PST Hi everyone, I just got a new phone (samsung galaxy a51) this past weekend and I'm having a problem that I can't seem to find in google (and I know it must be there). When I put my earphones on to listen to music, after a while, when I have it in my pocket, a voice assistant of some sort stops the music like once per minute to tell me the time. Also to tell me she doesn't understand me (LOL). It is reading out loud my notifications (well, only time, really). I thought I could turn it off easily by going into settings but I can't seem to find the way. Could you help me do it? It destroys the music experience for me. I don't ever need that service so I could disable it completely. This is not my native language and my mobile isn't setup in english, so some terms may be slightly inaccurate (not meaning you need to help me in spanish, just that maybe you have some trouble understanding my precise problem). | Posted: 23 Jan 2021 11:52 AM PST Sorry if I used the wrong flair. I bought the Lenovo Tab M8 and it's running Android 10. I found out how to force apps to store on a micro SD card to keep the internal storage from filling up. Aside from the widgets that I don't use anyway, my apps work fine except when it comes to updates. The apps won't update unless they are on the internal storage. Is this normal or is something going on? Is there anyway to fix it (aside from keeping the apps in internal storage)? After I moved the apps, I disabled the developers options. All I would need is a stock rom for this device, that's all. However, I can't find a single one on the internet. However, I found a guide on how to backup your stock firmware and restore it. Now I am looking for anyone who still got this old ass tablet and is willing to pull a backup for me! | Camera / Gallery / Google Photos Posted: 23 Jan 2021 11:04 AM PST LG G8X ThinQ. Switched to Android about 6 months ago and this is starting to drive me insane. Is there any way to have a unified photo library similar to iOS? If I want to send an old picture I took in the before-times, I have to go into Google Photos, download it to my Gallery before I can send it to anyone. Alternatively, none of my Gallery pictures get backed up to Google Photos automatically. I'm sure there are multiple work-arounds but I'm really just interested in a set-it-and-forget-it option that will back up any picture I take directly to my Google Photos and allow me to send those pictures from the cloud directly to one of my contacts without having to go through the Gallery. | Android constantly reboots when connected to power source Posted: 23 Jan 2021 10:22 AM PST Well I have a Galaxy J6 + and everytime it is connected to any kind of power source it starts and shows the Galaxy boot screen, but after a few seconds it restarts over and over. I've tried to restore to defaults but I can't even start it in safe mode. It's impossible. Is there a way to "force defaults" in this case? As I said, I can't start in safe mode nor download mode. Recently I've been having trouble downloading videos from every streaming app I have (Netflix, Disney plus, Rooster Teeth); every time I try to download a video the app either says there was a problem playing the video or it plays it but the video seems extremely corrupted. I know this has been happening since at least a couple months ago, because that's when Disney plus was not working, but I thought that was a problem woth disney plus, not my phone. | Unable to change DND notifications to silent; seeing two DND settings greyed out Posted: 23 Jan 2021 08:34 AM PST I have a Samsung S20. When I go Settings ----> Notifications ------> System UI, and scroll down to DND, I see two "Do Not Disturb" sections. One of them works as normal, but the options inside the other category (which looks identical) is greyed out. The greyed out DND settings are stuck on "Alert" every time I turn on DND. Even if I toggle the DND settings in the functioning settings, no changes occur. Is this some sort of bug? Or is there a way to get rid of the duplicate DND setting, or somehow stop DND from sending notifications every time I turn it on? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 23 Jan 2021 08:15 AM PST I just got a 2016 Seat Ibiza with full link including android auto, but my phone (Nokia 7.1 with latest android 10 and latest version of android auto installed) doesn't connect with my car. It doesn't give any errors or something, my phone just doesn't show up in the full link menu at all. Also, if I start android auto on my phone while connected to my car it doesn't show any linked cars. If I try with another phone (Nokia OnePlus Nord with android 10) it will immediately show up on my car in the full link menu. So I suspect the problem is my phone and not my cars multimedia system. I already tried the following things without avail:

| Posted: 23 Jan 2021 07:55 AM PST I bought Pro 7 from Swappa and, the battery drains even while I am charging it with the phone on. I let it die completely, and it only got me to 18 percent after 2 hours charging it while off. It still drains while on. I downloaded an app that said the battery health is fine, and the charger I am using works fine on my other phone. Anyone have this issue? [link] [comments] |

It's roughly every second and makes the headset completely unusable for calls. This happens with normal calls, Alexa calls, Skype calls, etc. But works perfectly for YouTube, Netflix, etc. I bought an M6 bluetooth headset to see if I still had the same problem and I don't, which leads me to believe the issue lies with the Voyager Legend. | How do I move my sons apps/data off of our tablet? Posted: 23 Jan 2021 06:28 AM PST I'm a long time android user, but never shared a device. We have an older Lenovo tablet (though my question is not brand/model specific) . My user is the owner. My son's account is connected to mine with Google family link. I control all accounts and users and pins and passwords. How can I backup his apps/data so we can move to another device or flash a rom on our current device? (it has wifi and Bluetooth issues and the manufacturer is not releasing updates) Best I can tell. Only the owner can use Google's native backup and restore service. So that won't backup his users data, I assume. I can't make him the owner without a factory reset i believe, which obviously would cost him all his data. The device isn't rooted, so I can't use titanium backup and rooting it requires a factory reset (which would cost him all his data). Perhaps I'm wrong on my understanding of the items above or perhaps someone has a good method? My young son would appreciate any support you all could help his dad muster. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

All I need is the ability to plug my phone into my computer and have select files and folders automatically backed up to the computer. I do not want or need cloud sync. I tend not to store much on my phone because I don't want to fill up all the storage, so this option would give me the freedom to, for instance, take more photos and videos. Preferably, I'd also like whatever solution to access the external storage on my phone as well as any external storage I decide to add to my computer. The most I might need for a wireless option is a locally-hosted solution – where I store files on my computer but have access to them via an app on my phone, rather than relying on cloud storage – but I can live without this. | Posted: 23 Jan 2021 03:59 AM PST Hiya. So my SDXC is throwing an error 'Your SD card is missing. Please insert', along those lines, and in Storage in settings it just says "Checking" constantly for the SD card status. Windows can't read it. It throws up an instant 'you need to format first' message; it's recognised as a drive but clicking the folder returns the format first message. In MiniTool Partition Wizard it shows that there is a 16Gb ('Unknown') partition at the start, which is labelled as D:, followed by an 118Gb ('Unknown') partition. Would Disks in a linux distro be better to use and possibly recognise the unknown(s) as linux style partitions? The 118Gb one has to be EXT3 or 4, right? That new partition at the start is weird and probably something to do with malware. Something similar happened with a USB stick a year back, I remember there being a smaller partition at the start of the USB but can't recall where things went from there. As it has many of my apps and settings as well as various documents and things I've downloaded I'm hoping I can recover not just the media from the partition but restore the SD card to its former functional state. Has anyone experienced this before? The random 16Gb partition appearing at the start of the SD card/USB? Could recovery be as simple as deleting that 16Gb partition and expanding the larger one? Or is this structure actually exactly what is done when you opt to format an SD for internal storage? I tried searching with Google but I could not find relevant results, just stuff about recovering photos when something happens the SD. [link] [comments] |

But in the Recovery Mode, I saw an option named "Repair apps"...I didn't see this before and I also can't find something on the internet about it. Well, I accidentally selected this option and it started rebooting my phone into the "normal" OS, but there was a message that all the apps will get optimized...after that it just booted up normally and until now I didn't recognize that anything changed.
