Posted: 30 Jan 2021 09:33 AM PST Hey, trying to transfer all my text messages (sms, mms, and iMessage, including attachments like photos, recordings etc) from an iPhone 6 to my new android phone Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro. So far I've tried 2 apps that doesn't do the job: - Samsung Smart Switch misses some random messages, so can't be trusted. It also doesn't transfer attached images in iMessage conversations. It does however transfer images in non-iMessage conversations. None of the other apps I've researched (most are paid apps) give a clear statement whether they can transfer iMessage attachments or not. Anyone know an app that you can confirm do this job (transfer all sms, mms, iMessage INCLUDING all attachments that has been sent in the conversations)?? I'd like to know before paying for some app. Free solutions preferred, obv. [link] [comments] |
| People can't hear me on phone calls Posted: 30 Jan 2021 09:38 AM PST This is a very oddly specific issue with my Galaxy Note 9, long story short whenever someone calls me they for some reason can't hear me but I can hear them.. They can only start hearing me if I switch my speaker on and then off again - Its especially weird because I don't face any issues when I us WhatsApp call or Voice Notes..Could this be a hardware issue or something else? Posted: 30 Jan 2021 08:48 AM PST Hi, I've used Adguard for some time but recently learned about an independent project via XDA Developers called NetGuard. I like the simplicity of Adguard where you can select different lists to add to your hosts file and whatnot. Adguard seems to be better at blocking ads, popups, etc., but I've been told NetGuard can be just as good - I just don't know how to achieve that. I don't have any experience aside from simply selecting stuff from the Adguard settings. Just curious if anyone out there has used both and what they think. [link] [comments] |

So, my problem is that I now have 3 keyboards; 1 for English which is multilingual with German, 1 for German which is multilingual with English, and 1 for Greek My question is, could I somehow get rid of let's say the German keyboard but still have the English/German multilingual one? I've already tried deleting one of the two but the option to have the other language with it gets deactivated. Sorry if I don't make much sense, I can't explain it much better. | Empty conversation lists/sent messages "disappear" in Google Messages - any foolproof fix? Posted: 30 Jan 2021 09:12 AM PST At some point in fall, my phone (Pixel 3XL) started having issues where a message would disappear after pressing "send" in the messages app. It would sometimes later appear, sent; but often they just vanished. This lead me to question if I was having issues, and confirmed that I was not receiving some text messages that were being sent to me. I also started seeing issues making and receiving phone calls; often having them start but never getting a dial tone before they just disconnect. After troubleshooting with Google and my carrier (VZW), they ultimately told me to factory reset my phone, which I was not willing to do at the time. In the beginning of November, I upgraded to the Pixel 5 and the issue went away. Yesterday, the issue came back with Messages (I can make/receive calls). I tried a lot of troubleshooting steps (reseating the SIM, resetting network settings, clearing cache, clearing all messaging data, sending directly to phone numbers instead of using contacts, etc.), each one usually fixing the issue for a few minutes before things fall back into a broken state. Also, yesterday I received a call from a number listed as "Unknown" and for some reason my phone would not let me answer/hang up, so I rebooted it -- this was before I started seeing the issue (I don't think this is related but figured I should mention it). Ultimately, I'm back in a state I was in this past Fall, and I cannot send/receive messages reliably. It seems this is a reoccurring issue, first with a carrier services bug and now possibly with a messages bug. I'm not sure these are directly related to my issue, or something separate. While I'm all for RCS chat, if it means I need to deal with no texting for hours/days/weeks while it gets figured out, I would rather opt-out. I've disabled chat features, but this does not resolve the issue. Has anyone else experienced this same issue, or found any kind of solution? Is there any way to completely opt-out of or disable RCS chat features for my phone, or should I wait for a possible update to Google Messages? I need to text people for work, and the need to respond this way has increased dramatically since the pandemic started. I cannot deal with buggy, sometimes working text messaging; but I also do not want to switch to an iPhone or something similar as a "solution." I do use apps like Telegram, Discord, Slack, and other for some chats, but there are some that need to happen over text message. It has been occurring randomly over the past couple of weeks and right now it's happening every 30 seconds and it won't stop. I've tried rebooting the phone, uninstalling recent apps, running Lookout and Malwarebytes but nothing was found, cleaning the memory to stop any background apps, and I just can't figure out a way to make it stop. | LG G6 won't accept password anymore. Posted: 30 Jan 2021 11:55 AM PST So i was at school and was checking on my phone when it suddendly didn't accept my lockscreen password anymore, like randomly, i didn't really do anything. My password is 2789 (if that helps) 100% sure (my dad's password is the same so i checked whether i forgot or not). I restarted the device (with vol down + power button) but nothing, i cannot turn off or restart the device the normal way it asks the password, i can access the other created user tho, but i still can't access things like photos or saved app data. It's been like this for 2 days now, i'm trying to wait it out cus i saw a similar post to mine where the phone randomly started accepting the pass again after a few days. I tried going Safe Mode, still nothing. I also tried to connect my phone to my pc to use adb but it won't recognize it with the phone locked (even if i use the other user). I've also noticed that the numbers on the password's retry countdown glitch, for example it starts at 10 goes to 9 and goes to 10 again for a split moment before progressing. I really don't want to hard reset my phone, so i'm asking if anyone knows of a solution. btw it accepts the sim card's password just fine. [link] [comments] |

This causes me to listen to a stupid automated message from the phone company. Is there a way to tell my phone that anything with area code 250 is local and to stop with the +1? It works well but I know irs limited to 4G speeds I believe. I have been sent 2 samsung S21's and both are 5G I'm wondering if I use the second one which has no sim card as a dongle again, will it pick up the full 5G speed from the working S21? Or does the speed passing through the phone not matter if its coming from another source and the whole 4G/5G is regarding cellular networks? [link] [comments] |

I use to write a lot of notes using the in-built app and I never got a problem till a couple of days ago when I found out that one of my notes seems "corrupted" (?). I can see the "preview", so there's text in it, but when I open the note is blank. Usually, "heavy" notes take a while for the text to display but this time as said before all blank like has been deleted (despite I can see from the note list the first lines of the note's text). I've tried to access via my pc to the internal storage but I can't find any folder that might be connected to the Notepad. Is there any chance that I can get it back? I tried searching for how to do so, but could only find instructions for searches on Google, or for the keyboard, and that's not what I have a problem with. Whenever I have search bars for specific websites, it pops up things I've searched for before, and blocks most of my screen. I have a link to a screenshot below. I (Pixel 3, Google Fi service) sent her a text to see if she arrived okay. She opened my text, then texted me back once to ask that I use email to communicate so she could avoid data charges. Now, she's back in the U.S., and whenever she tries to send me a group picture (MMS) text, her phone adds the +52 Mexico country code to my number, I don't receive those texts. I do receive the plain SMS texts in the groups, and I receive picture MMS from her in my text thread with her only (non-group). She tried deleting me as contact and re-adding, it didn't work. She tried turning off "assisted calling" in the phone app, and she and I both checked the default country in the messages app. None of those were the problem. Does anyone have any idea of how she can fix this? She was on the phone with Xfinity for an hour, and they were useless. My google searches for help have been exhausted. Thanks for any help!
