Posted: 24 Jan 2021 09:42 AM PST I've had my S10+ for about a year and a half, and it had reached that seemingly inevitable point where everything was slow and buggy and laggy, and I decided it was time for a factory reset. Everything went great, everything restored just fine except that NOTHING I do will convince it that my location is not 5172 Renshaw Dr, Troy, MI 48085. I have never been to Michigan. I live in southern Vermont, 500 miles away. What's going on? I don't have a VPN on or anything. Help? Please? [link] [comments] |

| Use my phone's hotspot for home wifi? Posted: 24 Jan 2021 12:38 PM PST So it turns out my phone's network is about 3 times faster than my home internet. I was wondering if it's possible to find a long term hardware setup to use my phone's hotspot for my home internet. I don't have any complex needs. Just basic netflix, streaming and no smart devices. I assume my phone's hardware wouldn't do well sharing it's connection for months on end. So is it possible to wirelessly share my internet with a router and let that do all the heavy lifting? I'd prefer a wireless setup if possible. I don't want to change my plan because if I can get this to work, it'll save me a ton of money a month. I'm on a pixel 2 [link] [comments] |

| Facebook Messenger chat heads have disappeared after Android 11 update Posted: 24 Jan 2021 12:09 PM PST I have the Mi A3, running stock Android, updated to Android 11 a couple of days ago. I've had multiple minor bugs, but it's been like this for months, so I didn't care much. However, the little chat bubbles of Facebook Messenger are now completely gone. I have no idea how to get them back. If I select a conversation in the app and choose the "show as bubble" option, all it does is put that conversation name in the notification bar. No little floating circle. I have allowed permission in settings for Messenger to display over other apps, still no chat heads. What's going on here? Am I missing something? I understand there's some new conversation bubble feature for Android 11, are these two features clashing or was one taken away in favour of the other? I don't really wanna have to open the Messenger app every single time I wanna check a conversation. Any fixes for this? [link] [comments] |
| Running an app made for an older version of android Posted: 24 Jan 2021 12:04 PM PST Hello, I was wondering if I could find some help here. A long time ago, I'd say 5 or 6 years, I played the heck out of this game called Castle Master 3D. It was a really neat third person horde battle game. Still available on the app store. However, after trying to reinstall it, the game crashes immediately and I get an error saying that it was made for an older version of android. I was then told that there were steps I should have taken before factory resetting (encrypting data, signing out, etc...). Is this a big deal? So here comes the problem, when i unlock my pohone with the fingerprint, it starts touching everything randomly,calling people and sending random messages, and i need to access the notes because i have some serious things on there. Now I need your help, do you know where can i find notes when I connect the phone to the laptop, so i can paste those on my pc? Here's the deal. My dog's name is Cami. As you might expect, I talk about her a lot. When I try to use her name in text, though, what appears is either camo, cabi, or cabo. It doesn't even try to add her name into the rotation. For added fun, when I say "Cami's," the phone has no trouble with it. I've added Cami's name to the dictionary in settings and tweaked the autocorrect settings. Every time I manually enter it, I tap it in the suggestion bar to confirm its the word I want. | Posted: 24 Jan 2021 06:17 AM PST A few weeks ago I dropped my phone on its screen, and it grew purple things on it which kept growing I got it fixed (not from the official samsung store)however after fixing it my phone presses buttons by itself and sometimes makes me unable to press anything .
