When you set a google assistant reminder to repeat once per year (recurring), it puts it in as the wrong month! Huge bug, and potentially disastrous if you need to remember something important. It's doing this on me and 3 family members' phones, though we all have Samsung phones. It's doing it on both Android 10 and 11. Can anyone else confirm?
Are you getting the same problem? Maybe it only happens on Samsung phones? Idk. Google needs to fix this, but as usual with big tech companies, there's no apparent way to contact them about this. [link] [comments] |
| Texting app with BOTH MMS renaming and categories Posted: 20 Jan 2021 08:39 AM PST I've really enjoyed the categories that the native Android messaging app has added, but I have a lot of group chats with a lot of the same people in them. This gets confusing quickly since I can't rename the groups and they're all just strings of names. I'm using Textra now because it lets me rename groups, but I miss the categories as they let me separate family, friends, and school chats. Is there any app that has both of these features? I've looked around and I've found plenty that can rename groups, but I can't find another with the same category system. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

The team told me to either reflash the phone or to root it, so I chose the hard factory reset (vol up + power on). But first app I reinstalled was the anti-virus and it keeps saying that infected files cannot be quarantined... The Kingroot app didn't work neither. Is there anything else I can do? | Posted: 20 Jan 2021 12:05 AM PST Hey guys, I have a redmi note 4 and I use Es File Explorer in it. Now I had been using that "hide" feature inside this app to hide a folder which contained some pictures that I didn't want to be visible inside the gallery, it worked pretty well but it had a few problems, so I decided to download a "vault" application for this stuff. Now I unhid that the folder which contained all those images and I saw that it was named ".other" Now if you're familiar with this, you must know that any file with a dot before it's name appears hidden (e.g : ".feezeey" will be hidden) so I removed the dot from the name. This messed things up and somehow changed the extension of the folder to something I don't know, and now I can't open the folder at all. Its basically busted and I don't know how to open it, but it contains a lot of pictures of my friends and family that I really want to recover. If anyone knows how to fix this please help me. | Posted: 20 Jan 2021 10:48 AM PST So I sold my phone on ebay and the seller wanted a return so I took the phone back only to find that it now wants me to log in with the last google account that was on it. I wanted to gift this phone away but I am unable to get passed the setup. I asked the buyer would they be able to unlock it for me to no avail as they are no longer responding to my questions. | Bluetooth Keyboard slowing down my phone after connecting. Posted: 20 Jan 2021 10:07 AM PST Hello, I purchased a tablet with a bluetooth 3.0 keyboard freebie. I decided to test out and use said keyboard on my realme 5 phone 3/64. Whenever I use it, it goes well for the first minutes until it doesn't. I used it on a messaging app like Slowly. I thought it was just the app at first, but after repeated test, I noticed that even my onscreen keyboard slows down even after I disconnected the bluetooth 3.0 keyboard. I'm forced to restart my phone for it to go back to normal. Tried typing offline with the notepad editor of es file explorer and it works a fair bit. It still slows it down eventually. | Posted: 20 Jan 2021 12:06 PM PST Okay my phone(Android) is being hacked and snooped on daily by my sim card provider and maybe some software. How I know? 1. I get random noises in calls( not all the time) even when the enviroment is perfecly out of noises to hear on both ends 2. My battery is draining faster from when I first got the phone I mean way faster like half a day difference. 3. My IG gets bugged when viewing my stories sometimes, the resolution thing changes( I guess the phone they use to snoop me is with different resolution than mine). 4. My phone is way too sluggish, even with only 1-2 apps open, never was like that when I first bought it 2-3 months ago. Now my question is if I do a factory reset and change my sim cards will it get removed 100% or there will be something left so they can acces and hack the phone again? [link] [comments] |

| Unable to get Hotspot/WiFi-Tethering to work on either Unlocked Samsung J3 & J8 Phones Posted: 20 Jan 2021 11:49 AM PST I'm unable to get HotSpot/Tethering to work on two unlocked phones I purchased in the last few years. These are the things I've tried with no luck on either phone:
I can connect to the Android's WiFi HotSpot from another computer, phone. The phones give my computer (or phone, or other computer) an IP address and I can ping the phone from the Hotspot client, but I can't get past the phone as the gateway, pinging 8.8.4.4 doesn't work, websites don't work, no internet connectivity at all. We have one other unlocked cell phone that I purchased on Amazon too (Galaxy J7) and tethering works fine on it. The J3 is Android 9 and the J7 is Android 10. Any ideas why I wouldn't be able to get hotspot tethering working on the Samsung J3 or J8 phones? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 20 Jan 2021 11:15 AM PST so I thought I broke my tablet last night because the screen wasn't turning it on but in a closer look today I saw if I put a flashlight on it I can very slightly see the screen is still on but I can't find a setting to fix it even if my brightness is all the way up it changes nothing. I can only see anything with a flashlight directly on the screen. is there any fix for this? it's a Galaxy Tab A 2016 (10.1) I think, that looks like the exact same model I have but I got it a while ago so I cant remember. | How to cast from Moto E to Roku -- is this possible? Posted: 20 Jan 2021 07:42 AM PST With Roku adding Apple AirPlay my wife can now cast to our Roku with her iphone seamlessly -- works very well! But alas I still can't cast from my Android phone. I had a Moto 7G play that I never could cast from, and now I have a Moto E it also won't cast. Selecting Cast from Moto E it can't find any compatible devices even though we have two smart TV's and 3 Rokus on our network. Is Android locked to only Cast to a Chromecast device? I would love to cast the entire screen to Roku as iPhone can now with AirPlay. Now I can cast from the Youtube app so I know there is connectivity, but since not all apps have ths capability I'd like to find some way to just cast the entire screen. [link] [comments] |

I mean, I lose 1% in a minute whereas at normal temp at lose 1% every minute, yet the current discharge is just 3 times normal at 41°C. Please, is this a software problem or a battery problem? | My Boyue Likebook Mars is stuck on a bootloop Posted: 20 Jan 2021 07:22 AM PST So, my likebook ran out of battery overnight and I charged it, assuming it would simply turn back on but it's currently going through a bootloop repeatedly. When I try to power off, the bootloop stops and it stays on the "starting up" page rather than changing to the "power off" page. I've read this guide where they say to press the reset button and hold the power for 3 seconds however instead of going into android recovery it stays on the "no command" page. The issue is, there's no way at all for me to change it using system buttons because the Likebook has no vol+ nor vol- buttons which are supposedly needed to navigate off this page and into the recovery menu. Samsung A51 touch vibration is noisy, like rattling Hello, Its been just a few months and touch vibrations seem to become noisy. And also phone solely decides to quit apps like I'm doing it on purpose and sometimes freezes. The phone isn't mine and the owner is a family member, she is complaining of freezing and random crashes or app shutdowns, switching between apps. I got the phone for a day to look at what's happening. I will update more if I get any of these problems. These are what I'm told to check. Shortly after the update, the phone... started bugging and glitching out. After a while, it just ended in me not being able to get past the ''phone is starting'' screen. Any solutions for this? What I've done so far is: Soft Reset Hard Reset Turned off and on Waited for a while and.... no progress. Will I have to do a factory reset to fix this? The problem is that I do not have a strong signal, and the LTE+ is much slower that LTE at low signals(indoor). It is really frustrating watching a video on LTE and then it throttles when it automatically switches on carrier aggregation. Is there any code or setting I can stop CARRIER AGGREGATION? Thanks. I have an issue where certain apps will make a notification noise and when I turn the screen off I see the notification vanish before my eyes. I don't get time to even read the notification, I just catch the icon as it shrinks away. I've mainly noticed this with Twitch and Reddit notifications. Is there any hidden setting somewhere I might have enabled to suppress these? Originally I thought maybe it was because my smart watch is linked to my phone so it's forwarding the notifications there however, even when the watch is not connected the issue happens. Thanks!
