| Playback from an external SSD or HDD - No computer or internet available Posted: 05 Dec 2020 08:48 PM PST Trying to put together something for a family member to watch movies from on their TV from and HDD or SSD, I am also buying the HDD or SSD they'll use so at least I can insure that will be compatible. I need it to play back videos deally in multiple formats (MKV, ect) and have some easy to use controls on the TV. The house doesn't have a computer to use otherwise I would just set up a media server and play it from a console. I looked at Nvidia shield and that looked a bit too expensive for the Christmas budget. Looking for recommendation, doesn't need to be very functional for internet streaming or anything else. | Sony 65" 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR65X800H) Posted: 06 Dec 2020 02:10 AM PST Hey guys question! Does the software update only update/fix anything related to the android tv software or does it also update and fix any technical issues the tv might have? [link] [comments] | ||
| TCL Android TV - Unpairs the Fire Stick remote every time it turns off Posted: 06 Dec 2020 06:16 AM PST Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue with Android TV. I'd like to also use my fire stick but every time it turns off and back on, the fire stick remote can no longer control the volume. When I go into fire stick equipment settings, it shows TV as Samsung even though I set it as TCL (which to me means it reset). I know this is kind of a cross-over post but hopefully someone could please help. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 06 Dec 2020 03:09 AM PST I have an Nvidia Shield TV (2019 model) and I want to check up on the running services, so I can verify if one of my apps is still running. Normally, I would go through Developer Options for this, but since that option is missing from Android TV (or at least, Nvidia's implementation), I have to find another way. I tried downloading one of those task/memory management apps, just for the hell of it; Not because I wanted to utilize it's main functionality. But when I clicked on the services button, it said that this device does not support it 😕 I would think there's a hidden way to see a list of current running services. Unfortunately, this particular model is un-rootable, so I'm limited in what I can do. Any tips? [link] [comments] | ||
| Dear Google: Please make a Chromecast Ultra with google TV Posted: 05 Dec 2020 05:18 PM PST Please Make A Chromecast Ultra With Google TV equipped with an amlogic s908x, 4gb+ ram, and google home mini functionality. This would be a better alternative to both the nvidia shield tv and fire tv cube. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 05 Dec 2020 09:35 PM PST Recently, I bought a TCL 55C716. I pulled the trigger even though there are not a lot of reviews for this model. I bought this for around $590 here in PH. Since we're still waiting for the PS5 release here in our country, I'm using this TV for my 2nd gen PS4 fat. When I tried to use the HDR on PS4 there is a noticeable delay on the audio. When the HDR is on, the shotclock, buzzer and whistle sound (NBA 2K20) from the TV lags behind the sound coming from the controller speaker. But when I turn off the HDR, they seem to be in sync. I tried to tweak a lot of settings from the TV, turn on the Game Mode, and replace the HDMI cable to 2.0 but it was the same. Is anybody here experiencing the same issue? Does this also happen when using PS4 Pro/PS5? I'm afraid that this will also be an issue when my PS5 arrives. PS. There is also an audio delay when using the Bitstream (Dolby/DTS) on PS4 but I fixed it by using Linear PCM. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 05 Dec 2020 03:16 PM PST Stuttering during local videos (Google movies). Audio cuts out across multiple apps. Wifi randomly disconnects. Everything works better on my Smart TV. You get what you pay for. Im happy i got a CCU on the way with Cyberpunk preorder... This thing is getting put in the kids room. [link] [comments] |
