    Hi, i got a Firestick and it's about to break. And i thought about this time buying a AndroidTV Box. But i have to buy it over a catalog website here in germany, financial reasons. And because i dont have money for a nvidea shield or formuler. So i saw these two on the catalog site: Xiaomi Mi Box S and the HiMedia Streaming-Box S500. But i dont know which one is better. I need your knowledge so that i can get one.

    I dont want to flash it or else. I just want to install apps like kodi and other tv stuff. If i can play on it, i dont know if i would use it.

    Need help with TV & Google Assistant.

    Hello everyone,

    I am very recently a satisfied owner of the Xiaomi 4S 43" television. However, it is not possible for me to control my smart lights via the built-in Google Assistant. It is also not possible to switch on my television via Google Home. Instead I get Youtube results. Do I do something wrong or is that not supported on the Android TV version of the 4S?

    So, i stream my films from Huawei phone to TCL TV. I use TorrServ and a video player that supports casting. Recently, Media Player Classic (my all-time favorite) stopped workingas well as VLC (never really used it, so i don't know if it's supposed to work bad) - i can't rewind video or they both just freeze. AllCast app works perfectly - supports rewinding, everything is smooth with one little exception - IT HAS NO SOUND AT ALL!!! Huawei video is a good app, but it can't find my TV, and finds neighbor's Samsungs with ease instead. So, which Android player supports TV casting and just plainly works?

    No way to mark watched it or that I plan to.

    Is it because it's on Netflix for the only main streaming service I have?

    I am planning to purchase in 4k soon but I didn't think that mattered to add to Wishlist/Watchlist for Google tv

    Quickly swapping yt accounts on tv

    Hi my family just got a android tv installed yesterday and i wanted to use youtube but it's linked to my dads yt account and i only could find a sign out button instead of a swap accounts. is there anyway you can quickly swap yt accounts on the tv?

    Slightly modified UI for the Playstore on Android 9.It looks refined, but I find the manage apps UI to be buggy. Are you facing the same?

    TCL 55S434 Android TV proprietary TV app vs. Android TV's "Live TV" app.

    TCL's Android TV (55S434) comes with a default TCL TV app installed. It sucks in my opinion for a variety of reasons, one of which is that the TV EPG is buried in the default Android TV menu (you have to bring up the Android TV OS menu, go two options deep just to get an option called "EPG" and click it to display it). Also TCL's default app does NOT allow you to add other streaming sources to the EPG like Pluto TV, Xumo, etc. and I'd like to use the categories of the Android TV "Live TV" app to see ALL movies or ALL sports, etc. across Live TV and Streaming Sources.

    So long story short, I have installed through the Google Play Store the "Live TV" app. However, it only PARTIALLY works.

    Problems:

    1. The EPG never fills in the OTA channel info.
    2. The "Live TV" app does load and track correctly the Pluto TV channels but always shows Xumo as "not setup" even after selecting it as a channel source and it saying it loads 170+ channels or whatever.
    3. Whenever I turn the TV on first and load the Android TV "Live TV" app TCL hijacks the selection and loads the default TCL crappy "TV" app. Meaning even if I click the blue Android TV "Live TV" app, it loads the red TCL TV app.

    I don't see a way to uninstall the red TCL "TV" app.

    If I did uninstall it, will the default Android TV "Live TV" app start working properly (full EPG including live OTA channels, Pluto TV and Xumo and other sources being included?)

    If there are other better solutions, I'd love to hear them.

    TCL 55S434 Android TV ARC audio delay/sync issue.

    (EDIT: It's not a Roku TV so doesn't have anything to do with TCL's Roku UI.)

    I recently purchased the TV above from Best Buy and it works pretty well and I like the Android TV OS except for a few things.

    One of the things is an apparent audio delay when using ARC (and outside soundbars, receivers, etc.)

    I have a Yamaha Receiver that has an HDMI connection through the wall in my house (I wired it when the home was being built) to my...

    TCL 55S434 Android TV....in HDMI 1 so that same HDMI can use the ARC channel.

    I also have a Roku Premier connected directly to the TV to HDMI 2.

    Why have both?

    Because Android TV doesn't have Apple TV+ and the Roku does (Ted Lasso anyone?)

    Also, I can't connect the Roku Premier through my Yamaha receiver because it ONLY supports HDMI 1.4 so I can't get 4K Video (that the Roku supports) to passthrough the receiver.

    So to get 4K AppleTV+ I must connect the Roku Premier directly to the TCL TV via the HDMI 2 port. I can't use an HDMI splitter to send the video to the TV and the audio to the Yamaha receiver because there is only ONE HDMI cable to connect the TV to the Yamaha receiver.

    So, I have HDMI 1 connected to the Yamaha Receiver.

    Roku Premier connected to HDMI 2.

    But here's the problem...

    Any apps (AppleTV+, Disney, Netflix, Amazon Prime) that I stream on the Roku Premier, through HDMI 2, that then "Passes through" the audio BACK through the HDMI 1 ARC channel to the Yamaha Receiver, is DELAYED by a half a sec or so. The video is ahead of the audio by half a sec.

    In the Android TV settings for Audio I have options for Passthrough, PCM, Auto and Off.

    PCM only passes through Stereo through the HDMI but it DOES have an audio delay adjustment bar that can go positive and negative.

    BUT Passthrough and Auto do NOT have the auto delay adjustment bar when they are selected.

    Also running an optical cable from the TV to the Receiver isn't an option (again there's a wall between the TV and receiver).

    OTA TV audio is FINE through the ARC channel to the Receiver.

    Android TV apps using the TV are for the most part fine/in sync (very, very minor delay).

    But any audio passed INTO the TV that is then processed by the TV or the Android TV when piped back out through ARC, is delayed a half a sec.

    Anyone know of any solutions?

    Display Density automatically changed

    Hi,

    I have a Nvidia Shield TV 2020, the tube one,,and yesterday after watching an episode of His Dark Materials in 2160p HDR, the system is rendering smaller. It's basically showing double the amount of content as before and some of the settings are hard to read. I also can't seem to get it back to the old display Density.

    Has this happened to anyone else?

    Not able to load apps etc. on my Shield tv 2017

    So since 2 two days i can no longer watch netflix, youtube etc on my shield. Its almost as if it would not be connected to the internet. Which it is. When i open youtube and click on a video its always black screen with loading symbol. When i open netflix there is a error message. When im in playstore and want to download a app it stays always on 0%. I also was in the fast boot menu to do a factory reset but still the same. And today did bring it to another household to test and it was exactly the same

    So idk am i screwed and the device is suddenly deffective?

    Can I force a keyboard to appear?

    I'm using an app that requires login. When I click the login box, there's no keyboard appearing. My remote controller doesn't have numbers and letters, but I need to insert my login info. Any way to force a keyboard to show up?

    Unable to mirror laptop to Mi Tv 4a Pro

    I have a laptop running windows 10. The Tv is a Mi Tv 4a Pro. Earlier it used to cast seamlessly. But after I installed the software update on the TV (currently running 9 and no further updates to show), my laptop is unable to detect the TV. Casting from phone works fine. It has chromecast built in and also has miracast (although miracast disconnects the Tv from the wifi idk why). Any help would be appreciated. Also if there's a way to mirror an iPad Air 3, kindly drop in some how to link or steps.

    Sony Bravia TV connects to xfinitywifi but can't enter creds

    Has this issue been resolved somehow? I have tried to sideload chrome web browser when connected, but it doesn't redirect me and says the dns can't be reached(can't recall exactly the message but I'm at work atm). Any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe if I log in before hand on my phone's hotspot and login to xfinity and then switch networks but I doubt it will work.

    Support for 2020 Xbox controllers ?

    Hi,

    I have a Phillips "The One" Android TV on which I usually play using the steam link app.

    But I'm having issues with the new Xbox controller (the one for the Xbox series x/s), it isn't recognized by the Bluetooth of the TV.

    I also have a controller for Xbox one that is working fine on the TV, so is the new version just not supported ?

    The 2020 controller works fine on other devices so I doubt it comes from the controller itself.

    Samsung universal remote with Mibox?

    Hey guys, there is an option on samsung tvs wich allows to control multiple devices with samsung smart remote. It is called universal remote, and at OTT devices i found xiaomi brand aswell but somwhy it doesnt work, i tried manualy selecting the model number, in my case MDZ22AB, but still didnt worked.

    Tv brand: Samsung Q60T OTT brand: Xiami Mi box S (MDZ22AB)

    Im wondering if, is there anybody who managed to pair it, and with which models? Tv+mibox and how?
