    As a diehard Apple fan (IMac, IPhone, IPad etc..) My house is has 3 TV's all with an AppleTV box on them. I kept hearing about Google TV. I bought one and thought I'd try it. I have had it for about 2 weeks now and I haven't used my Apple TV once!!

    The interface as a YoutubeTV user and having it integrated is awesome. Also the watchlist and "Thumbs up/down" features are almost TiVo like which I really missed until now. It has been suggesting so many movies and shows across my apps that I constantly have something to watch. Plus sideloading apps and adding storage has made this a dream stream for me.

    I almost feel guilty because I have convinced my relatives to all invest in Apple TV boxes when really all they need is this. Have any other Apple users found limitations "other than lack of Apple+" that have made them not like the Google TV or am I missing something?

    Netflix Sign in

    Whenever i cast Netflix from my phone to the tv i am told to sign in, but there's another account already signed in. Is it possible to sign in with both accounts or to at least disable the "sign in on the tv to cast" thing? Thanks

    Chromecast with Google TV now showing sponsored ads

    Just got an ad for the movie Songbird in the top carousel that explicitly says "Sponsored." First time seeing that. It disappeared when I scrolled through the carousel and I can't trigger it anymore.

    Also Songbird has a 9% Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

    I noticed that Chromecast Beta app got updated on December 6th and I went to go check if I could add one of my official Android TV's to a Google Home Speaker Group and......

    I could add my Nvidia Shield 2019 (Tube version) to the speaker group in my Google Home app!!!

    Nvidia Shield 2017 or Mi Box S however could not be added. Anybody else add their Nvidia Shield 2019 (Pro or regular)?

    I read a couple of posts on this sub saying that for the longest time, google home/assistant could not cast netflix to android TV, but in the last 20-26 days it was able to do so. If I remember correctly I was able to do this.

    But NOW, and for the past day or so, I have not been able to. Is this the experience some of you have had too?

    From what I've learned, the reason for this is because Netflix got mad at Google for driving users away from using Netflix's own app/library.

    What are the differences from Android TV thats built in to your TV vs A box like Nvidia Shield Pro running Android TV

    I have a Sony TV and it has Android TV on it and I was wondering how it differs from a smart device running Android TV like the Nvidia Shield Pro. Obviously other than processing power and space, is the experience different in any way, do you lose out on any available apps, anything at all? Let me know thanks

    Prevent Sleep on new Chromecast

    I bought a new Chromecast with android TV but I am unable to prevent it from going into sleep mode. I set turned on the developer options and set it to not go to sleep while charging to no avail.

    Is there a way to prevent it from sleeping? I use Kodi, and I would prefer android TV to stay on so that Kodi can auto update its library among other things.

    new google tv. video freezes audio continues

    help ☹️ I just got the google Tv.

    I have all my apps connected. netflix, hulu, youtube.

    they will all play fine. maybe a minute in. video will freeze. audio continues playing. then sometimes video unfreezes but then video/audio are out of sync.

    i dont think its the apps. eince it happens on various ones

    so that means its either the device. or maybe my internet?

    im very close to just returning it.

    Can't Install an APK.

    *Sry for bad English.

    Weeks ago, my local company released its own streaming service which include an ip tv for free.

    I don't like the app itself, but welp, i could use Amazon, hbo, n Netflix so.

    I Found out that Netflix isn't available on play store, but i could install it as an apk via USB, but i can't because unknown sources aren't enabled, but i can't enable them. There is no Security Options on Settings, and when i click to send me there on my file explorer app, i can see a right panel that says 'Not available for this user' and pops out.

    I've saw that if you write " m start --user 0 -n com.android.settings/.SecuritySettings. " on an Terminal could work, but still i can't download any Android Terminal Emulator via Play Store so.

    I can't become developer too, when i click 3 times on the option it sends to me to an a Logger.

    I've checked the App permisions to the file explorer for install unknown sources and there isn't any.

    Its Android 10.

    How do i remove black bars from Uhd movies on usb to watch fullscreen on Philips 4K UHD LED Android TV?

    I have Philips 4K UHD LED Android TV and on usb almost all the movies are cropped with black bars from upper/lower side. I also dont have option to stretch full screen.

    Chromecast Built-in Sony X900H 65 inch TV quality issue

    Recently purchased a 65 inch Sony X900H TV, and tried the chromecast from my Windows 10 laptop using Google Chrome browser "cast" mode, realized that the quality is pretty poor overall - for example I tried opening a High Resolution photo and it was pixelated. Both devices are connected to the same Wifi network at 5Ghz.

    This is the first time i have used Chromecast on an android tv, hence am not sure how it is supposed to be. Is there a way to improve the quality?
