Posted: 02 Dec 2020 09:47 AM PST This happened around 3 hours ago. I let it cool down slowly without putting it in the freezer or anything like that. It's not responding to plugging in the charger at all. When I try to turn it on I see a white line blink on the screen. I tried to hold the power button and the volume button but still didn't work. I am very grateful I am aware this could have gone really badly. I usually never sleep with my phone on the bed. Did my phone die? or is there anything I can do? [link] [comments] |
Impossible to set any form of screen lock after rooting with Magisk Posted: 02 Dec 2020 07:56 AM PST SOLVED - The solution was deleting keystore.mdfpp.so and keystore.msm8953.so from /vendor/lib/hw, the screen lock pattern works perfectly now. As the title says. I have flashed TWRP, Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019.zip , and the latest Magisk.zip from GitHub, I'm on Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2018 SM-T590, T590XXU3CTI4 (Android 10). The screen lock simply doesn't get saved, also after a restart, the tablet goes into a bootloop, reaches lock screen and goes back to Samsung logo infinitely. Restoring a /data backup in TWRP solves the bootloop, but still, it's impossible to set a screen lock. I have tried changing /efs folder's permissions to 775 / 777 as suggested here: [LOGCAT] Can't set any secure screen lock | XDA Developers Forums (xda-developers.com) That method failed too, the permissions simply get reset to 771 after a restart, doesn't matter what I do. Also, I get tons of error messages in logcat, like 100-200 / second from diagmonagent, crypto, keystore, security, keymaster, etc. Any ideas on how to solve this? [link] [comments] |
Why doesn't Firefox mobile audio/video blocking work? Posted: 01 Dec 2020 11:10 PM PST The settings have options to disable audio and video play, but they have no effect. Any website can start playing audio with video? Chrome has audio blocking, which seems to work. Is this a known issue? [link] [comments] |
MMS messages only come through in safe mode Posted: 02 Dec 2020 01:36 PM PST My wife and I both have Galaxy s10s. Recently our phones have been a little finicky with MMS messages, especially group messages. For the last few days, my wife hasn't been able to download any mms messages at all. My phone still works. We have the same exact phone model, same exact software version. I looked the issue up online but no setting changes fixed the issue. Finally, I saw the suggestion of starting the phone in safe mode, which fixed the issue. All the messages downloaded instantly! But now I am lost as to my next step. Turning safe mode off makes the messages not work. I understand this means it is an app causing the problem, but how can I track down which app it is? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Dec 2020 12:05 PM PST Hy, i need help for my Lenovo S5 pro with the 3.9.166 ST software update. When i received & downloaded the update my 3D face unlock disappeared and after i reseted the phone only face unlock i had was a Trusted Face option in Google's Smart Lock menu. So i would like to know did anyone experienced the same issue and does anyone know how to fix it. Maybe someone has download file to the old ROM, the one that phone ships with, the one that had 3D face unlock. [link] [comments] |
Vibration strength for different social mediaapps? Posted: 02 Dec 2020 11:33 AM PST My Vivo V15 Pro vibrates normally during texts or calls (stock SMS application), but vibrates weakly on third-party social media apps. It's the same for FB messenger, Google messages, Telegram, and many different apps. I often miss notifications because of the weak vibration. Does this have a fix or it is simply faulty app integration and I can't do anything about it? [link] [comments] |
How do i turn off the corner swipe gesture for g asistent Posted: 02 Dec 2020 11:24 AM PST Normally i wouldn't be bothered by it, i use it quite often however today it started activating whenever I'm in landscape mode and swipe up to go home, essentially getting stuck in the app. The only way to get out is to ask the assistent to open an app that can wark in portret mode. I know that switching to buttons is a solution but i don't want to give up gestures. I'm on xiaomy if that helps [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Dec 2020 11:11 AM PST So I'm not great at getting up and have to set 3 or 4 alarms to get up in time. Say I have them at 6:30, 6:40, and 6:50 but I do actually manage to get myself out of bed and in the shower after the first one (6:30), is there a way to mute the other two for 24 hours? I want to mute them so they don't go off whilst I'm in the shower and my girlfriend has to wake up from them. Yet I'm worried that if I turn them off then I'll forget to turn them back on before the next morning. So is there a way to "mute" them for 24 hours? Either through the system, or is there an alarm app that provides this feature? [link] [comments] |
Motorola e5 play freezes on startup and doesn't let me do anything Posted: 02 Dec 2020 10:59 AM PST After I got home, I used hand sanitizer (the watery kind; 70% alcohol) to sanitize my phone. For almost an hour it was working fine but then it suddenly froze and didn't let me do anything. So, I removed the battery, put it back in and restart it but it kept freezing in the middle of startup. Eventually after using power+volume down to restart a couple times, I got it to work. After a few minutes it decided to freeze again and I can't get it to work anymore. I know that alcohol is not conductive but could the remaining 30% of the hand sanitizer cause these problems? Right now I have it sitting in rice to be safe. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |

VLC as a player in Google Maps Posted: 02 Dec 2020 10:19 AM PST How do I set VLC player in Maps? I have Pixel 4a 5G. It shows only the option for YT Music which is super crap in my opinion. [link] [comments] |

S20 FE 5G - "Can't load Android system." message Posted: 02 Dec 2020 10:16 AM PST I'm not sure if there's some specific format I need to follow here, but here's my problem: I just got an S20 FE 5G, and not even a full day later, at ~8:30AM, I pull my phone out of my pocket to see the message in the title. I did the try again option, and it flashed the S20 FE 5G logo at me a few times, refusing to go to the Samsung logo only. A few minutes later, I check to see that, to my surprise, it actually booted. It said something about a system update (I did that the day prior, so why did that come up?), and all looked to be good. But it wasn't. I was greeted to the Google app crashing message, which I was able to fix by uninstalling the update (rebooting didn't fix this or any of the other apps listed). Other apps on the other hand didn't work out so well. My bank app opened once and never opened again. Gmail would launch and crash a few seconds later. The myATT app refuses to launch. I tried the same fix for the Google app on all of them, but they still didn't work. Other apps were somehow missing. Synching was removed, and reinstalling somehow brought it's settings (connected devices and synced folders) back. Bitwarden had the auto-fill setvice setting still set to it, but the app still said it was disabled (had to switch to something else and back to it for the change to be noticed). I don't know what I should do here. Is this a firmware issue (I did start and pause the update a few times to make sure everything else was installing as it should) or just a weird software bug fixed by a factory reset? I don't really want to have to reset, but if I absolutely have to, I will. [link] [comments] |

Get LED lock screen notification blink back? Posted: 02 Dec 2020 09:50 AM PST I recently upgraded from a galaxy note 9 to note 20 ultra. I realized that I really miss the analog LED blink light on the black locked screen. Is there any way to add it back in some emulated screen way? I dont like the ones that use it in the always on display as I dont use always on display (it just feels like two lockscreens to me) I tried an app called Notify Buddy but it doesnt work very well. I downloaded the galaxy app GoodLock but it seems to only do it on the AOD. Does anyone know any other ways to accomplish this on the black lock screen? I feel there has to be a way. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Dec 2020 09:26 AM PST My wife's Samsung s9 is stuck at a bizarre screen and it cannot be turned off and basically nothing can be done. The screen overlays the normal home screen with the text "Use volume keys..." and "Live caption...". There is more text. Anyway when she tries to turn it off, the power buttons are also behind this top screen and cannot be activated. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
"Knox Enhacned Attestation" and NOT "Knox Enhanced Attestation" Posted: 02 Dec 2020 08:47 AM PST Hi all, I have a question (which a also posted elsewhere but until now I got no answers...). I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. After using it 5-6 Times (including all Android updates) I noticed 2 User certificates: 10xxx_Knox Enhacned Attestation (installed for VPN and apps) xxx = some numbers Enhanced_Attestation_SSL (installed for VPN and apps) I deleted them both, as I don't have them in any of my other Samsung devices. Now the question: Why is the Knox certificate spelled incorrectly? Is this a really valid certificate? I googled the thing but I just found 2 threads (with no answer) about that: https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Tech-Talk/Questions/td-p/5929350 Is there anyone with the same situation? Can anyone give some feedback, looking into his/her User certificates? Do you think this OK or may the device be compromised (at a booting level, I guess, if that's the case)? If so, I really don't know how it may have happened. I don't know if it can be important: - On the new device, after putting the sim card and tuning it on, I immediately got a MMS from my service provider. After that I made a hard reset and disabled MMS. - On this device I installed only 1 paid Antivirus from a known vendor and I used it only to surf on a couple of known and safe webpages. Thanks! Inverting speakers when rotating phone Posted: 02 Dec 2020 08:37 AM PST So my device is a Black Shark 2 which has two front-facing speakers. Thing is, the bottom speaker is always Right and top is Left. When I rotate the phone so that the charging port is on my left, audio channels are inverted. I'm looking to buy a specific wired controller that would make my phone be inverted all the time. Is there any way to swap audio channels when rotating? I'm on Android 10 JOYUI 11. Plan B is playing on Mono. Not really into headphones. [link] [comments] |

How to stop microphone shortcuts to Google? Posted: 02 Dec 2020 07:08 AM PST So, got a problem when I'm listening to music on Spotify w my headphone jack, that after just a bit, the google assistant is called without me pressing anything. I've already disabled both the Google Assistant and Google's access to my microphone, but all it does is stop the mic from turning on, once in the Google app. With all these disabled, it still randomly opens up the google app asking for access to the microphone. Is there any way to disable whatever shortcuts are making that happen? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Dec 2020 06:42 AM PST Hey folks. I'm pretty sure this is the correct place to post this, however, I could be wrong, so please let me know. I read through the detailed rules and didn't see anything specifically stating otherwise. I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 that is up to date on upgrades. A few months ago, I was notified that Google Play music was going away, to be replaced by Youtube, and that I need to transfer my music library to youtube. I did this at that time. I have several albums and a bunch of single songs that I purchased on the Google Play music store, and those were supposedly all transferred. I also have a bunch of music on my SD card and phone itself. The purchased songs/albums were downloaded for listening offline. Now that Google Play Music is no longer available, I have tried to listen to my purchased, downloaded, and my own music via Youtube, and it is a nightmare. None of my music is available, and I can only see 2 of my playlists, but they are empty. When I can randomly find some of my music in the Youtube app, it only plays while my screen is unlocked, meaning I can't listen at work. I am really upset about this whole mess. Is there an app I can use that will pull all of my Google Play purchased music, as well as music that is already on my device? If not, can I get my money back for the songs/albums I purchased on Google Play music? I am so bloody frustrated because I work in a corner of office space where there is constant background noise and I NEED my music. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Dec 2020 06:15 AM PST I had this problem happen to me for a long time now but it happens at random times. The screen keeps twitching with green lights and in the middle is a loading green/blue circle then it just restarts. at first, I thought it was the battery but it happens whether or not the tablet is on the charger and the battery was at 32% so I got confused. Here is a video I managed to record, sorry for the quality but I was in a hurry to catch it before it goes away. Has anyone else that dealt with this found any solutions at all? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Dec 2020 06:12 AM PST How would one scrape data (dynamic text and photos) from an app? I've tried using Fiddler to find the api calls but they seem to be encrypted by firebase. I've been told there's no way to bypass this unless I own the firebase project which I don't. Is there no tool like Puppeteer but for Android apps? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2020 09:45 PM PST This has kinda made me paranoid. Does this indicate a virus? I'm using a Huawei Y9 prime. I declined the unknown call and that's when this happened. I don't know if I'm being paranoid or not. I searched it up but nothing of use popped up. Appreciate any help! [link] [comments] |
