| Having difficulty updating an app on secure folder Posted: 22 Dec 2020 10:00 AM PST I have a galaxy s8, btw So, I have an alt Twitter account in my secure folder (mostly for random shit) and I'm trying to update it to see fleets. I go to the play store in secure folder and update it, and it goes through the motions. Then I open the Twitter app and nothings changed. So, I delete the whole app in secure folder and re-download. I still don't have fleets even though the play store says I'm up to date. I check my main Twitter (not in secure folder) and fleets are there. Any reason why Twitter updates not working in my secure folder? [link] [comments] |

| Recorded videos suddenly not working Posted: 22 Dec 2020 04:27 AM PST First timer here, and I'll get straight to the point. I've recorded two videos on the Open Camera app, one video lasting 48 minutes and the other just under 3 minutes. I tried to send it via Google Files to my tablet for editing, but it failed once so I retried. After successfully retrying and sending, I head back to my files and see that the videos don't play anymore, even though they were working fine after being recorded. If it helps, my phone is Moto E4 Plus. I don't think it's the tablets fault at all. Any help would be much appreciated :) [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 22 Dec 2020 12:14 PM PST Title. I used to play audio in my car (an older vehicle with an aux in but no bluetooth interface) using my phone. I had to get a USB-C to Aux converter dongle to make it work since the phone has no aux port, but it would work fine until the audio fizzled out one day. I figured it might have been hardware at first, since the aux cord and dongle I were using were quite cheap. I recently replaced them and tried to set my phone to play, but audio does not go through no matter what. I know my car's ports are not the point of failure because my girlfriend's droid works through the exact same setup. I've gone through the debug options, but the options and toggles people use to fix this issue online (setting the USB debug default setting to audio or whatever) are no longer present, giving me zero ability to change this functionality. I don't get why they would straight up remove this functionality, and I would do pretty much anything to this phone to get it back. I go nuts driving without having music playing and I can't stand FM radio. If I need to roll back to a previous android OS to get the function back I will, but I'm not sure where to start. | Oneplus 7 Pro stuck on bootloader Posted: 22 Dec 2020 11:42 AM PST Hello there. I have a T-Mobile Oneplus 7 Pro that I converted to international via this guide. After using that for a few months I decided it was time to root and flash LineageOS. Still following the original guide linked, I attempted to perform root and TWRP. Once I had oem unlocked the device, and after trying to boot boot_patched.img, I am stuck in fastboot mode. Choosing START, Recovery Mode, Poweroff, and Reboot Bootloader, all send me back to the fastboot page with those options listed. Trying to reboot via fastboot on a command line does the same, so does trying to boot boot_stock.img. I will list additional information below. What i want: VERY good battery life 6+ hours Doesn't break instantly when you drop it Is a Samsung device (i really want the Samsung apps, especially SideSync so i said it, be sure to recommend other phones fitting the criteria above because if said phone is really good i can get it instead of Samsung). | Google App choice of theme is suddenly missing from its settings menu? Posted: 22 Dec 2020 10:32 AM PST I've been on Android 10 on my Mi A3 (stock Android) for a few months now. I've always had my system setting on Dark theme but the Google app had its own individual setting inside the app in Settings > General > Theme. I had this setting on Light theme because I didn't want to view Google search results in the dark mode UI. However today evening, I just happened to pull up the search window for something and noticed that it had automatically switched back to Dark theme. Furthermore, when I went into Settings > General, the Theme setting is not even there any more. Has anybody else experienced this? Is it some bug I'm facing or did Google push an update to the Google App to force system theme and remove the app wise setting? [link] [comments] |

I deleted like a few years worth of images which are probably more than a thousand but my phone's storage isn't reflecting that whatsoever, it shows the same storage used as before I deleted those thousand pics. btw I deleted them yesterday but it still not reflecting on my phone's storage, I also tried rebooting my phone a few times but it doesn't seem to be working, I'm doing this cause I really need to clear up space on my phone☹️ [link] [comments] |

I've looked online and they say to go "apps & notifications" and some say "security and privacy", but I can't find the option any more. Some also say its allowed and once I download the APK I can just click on it and install and that doesn't work. I've downloaded APK installer on the play store and it see my file. I've also allowed installs on Chrome in my settings. I just want a game that isn't available in my country and for some reason I'm having to result to a reddit board because the solutions I've seen online isn't helping. Posted: 21 Dec 2020 03:10 PM PST I work in the non-profit sector and was provided some $ to buy our clients, who are homeless, "burner" phones, so they are able to stay connected to their case managers. So, the phone must be walk that line between inexpensive but not a total piece of crap. They can't be tethered to anything that would require them to log in, or put in a credit card to pay. Reloading minutes needs to be super easy (the more brick & mortar options the better). The phone would mainly be for calls, but if it were able to connect to WiFi for other uses that would be good. Basically, take away as many barriers and cost to a person who's living outside, no e-mail address, little-to-no tech savvy, and what would you suggest? [link] [comments] |

Calculator, weather, translator, etc. I can place them, but they don't update or do anything when there (ie, pressing numbers on the calculator does nothing; the keyboard doesn't appear when pressing in the translation box, etc). I use these widgets a lot (or at least I did), and I've found ways to clear my phone's cache and my phone's browser cache with no effect. The screen is barely visible but it acts like a non-touch screen, it started when I started using sanitizers on my phone. I am outside of the country where i bought it and the pandemic has closed all repair shops near me. My phone uses Android 9.0 (Pie), EMUI 9.1, has a USB type C, and password is enabled. The screen is LTPS IPS LCD and not waterproof. It is also not rooted. I have a Pixel 3 and I've been noticing this issue over the last several weeks where I will occasionally not receive notifications (Gmail, messages) until I pick up and unlock my phone. Often I'll notice that the email or message was received minutes to hours earlier. As you can imagine, this is quite troublesome. Here is what I have tried so far, without permanent success: Empty cache of Gmail Turn Gmail sync off and on Remove and re-add account Factory reset Turn off battery optimization for Gmail and messages Make sure gmail is set to show all notifications ("Notify for every message") Turn off battery saver Turn off adaptive battery Turn off adaptive notifications Show all notifications on lock screen Show sensitive content when locked Unrestricted data for Gmail I'd appreciate anyone's help or insight into this. | asus zenfone 5 shuts down during boot Posted: 21 Dec 2020 11:22 PM PST last night when i picked up my phone from my desk it was off. It should have had about 80% battery left. It has done this before and normally i just hold the power button and it turns on. When i tried this it showed me the "powered by android" followed by an asus logo and then a few seconds of black screen before it turns of. I tried again this morning and its doing the same, sometimes after the asus logo there is a split second of some glitching graphic and then off. i have tried power + volume up/down, power + volume up gave me the asus logo and in the top right it said something about fast boot and to hold down the power button but the message was not fully readable because of the notch. i can't seem to do this again. it seems like it wont turn on at all after this. The only option that i have left is to open it up and disconnect the battery. [link] [comments] |
