Will modern Android phones hold up in the long run? Posted: 21 Dec 2020 11:31 AM PST Given the insane prices that phones packing the SD 865 are going for, midrange android phone using the weaker, but still potent, SD 765 have become more popular. Also Google and Qualcomm's four year support announcement means that we could see iOS-esque long term support. Now it's no secret that older android flagships ages like dogshit compared to older iPhones, the question now is will modern android phones hold up in terms of performance/snappiness to make the long term software support worthwhile. Or if the long term support would include performance optimization for that matter. Just for context, Apple's midrange-priced SE is packing the-not-latest-but-still-flagship-like A13 and Apple has proven track record for long term support. The selling proposition of the SE is largely based on that longevity. [link] [comments] | ||
