Your current favorite "pickup and play" game?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 08:30 AM PST

Something that you can close/pause at any moment and carry on playing later.

For example BTD6 and AFK Arena is what I'm playing right now where you can do that, what could you suggest?

    Open to any genre

    Lifeline ending and sequels? [Spoilers]

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 05:18 AM PST

So... I finished lifeline and it appears i got a valid, actual ending (so not one of the early ones like dying in the cold), because it went onto a preview of someone named Mel contacting me. So this appeared to signal the end of the game.

Yet, in the Taylor follow up game. He's alive and well again.... But my ending is the one where he sacrifices himself to destroy the peak, triggering an end of game alert and the sneak peak with Mel. I'm so confused, why would the game indicate this is a true ending if they're just going to retcon this in the next one?

I don't mind having multiple endings so long as they follow up properly in the sequel. I also don't mind 1 true ending so long as the game doesn't lead you to believe the ending you got WAS the true ending.

    It's all quite confusing.

PS. I haven't yet finished the Mel preview, as I figured it would repeat in the next game only to find that Taylor contacted me seemingly alive. So I have not yet continued with the second game.

    Games with fullscreen support

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 07:26 AM PST

Hi everyone. Do any of you guys play games a lot on the Pixel 4a or phones with stock Android? I'm asking because I noticed that most games I own on the playstore don't go fullscreen, and instead have a black bar around the camera cutout, and considering that gaming will require the screen to be turned on at considerable brightness for significant amounts of time, I can't help but wonder how that will affect burn-in on the 4a in the long run. Is there a way you could force fullscreen on most games, or is it up to the devs?

Having said that, I do have a couple of games that work with full screen mode flawlessly but I wish that more games were able to adapt to the entire display kinda what samsung and other oems with skins are implementing. I assume this is a limitation of stock/Google Android?

Need help with gaming in PE

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 02:07 AM PST

    Hey guys,

So, I own an F1 and I am running Pixel Experience in it. I'm very satisfied with the clean and simple interface it brings to the table, but I have one major gripe: gaming

See, the OS is able to run any game I throw at it, but the problem comes from the calls that come during gameplay. If I receive a call while playing a game, the call pickup/reject screen takes up the whole screen and for 3-4 seconds I am left staring at the caller id screen. That's enough time to totally flip the game and make me lose.

I remember when I was in MIUI there was never this issue. When a call came, it only gave a small popup with which you can pick up or receive the call and then the call automatically started in the background with loudspeaker, assuming you accepted the call.

Is there any way to minimize this caller id screen when a game is running? Or do you recommend switching to a different ROM? I really love this Pixel Experience but I really need help with this issue.

Has anyone tried the Gamevice controllers for Android?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:55 PM PST

I'm considering getting this controller for portability purposes but some details are being glossed over on the website and reviews.

The website has 3 different models for Android with no explanation as to what the differences are (Pixels, Galaxys, and a 3rd one that only covers the S8/Note8). The 2nd one says "not compatible with S10e". I have a Nokia 7 and I'm wondering what will happen if I plug this controller into my phone when it isn't listed? Isn't it using type c? What's keeping from just working with every type c phone?

Also, does this controller work with all the games/apps that also support Bluetooth? Or does GV have their own ecosystem of support? What about emulators?

[REQUEST] I've got a game in my head, but can't remember what it's called

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 02:50 PM PST

There's this great game I played about 3.5 years ago, which I've sporadically remembered a few days back, but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. Please, if you know what game I'm describing, either link it or send me the name. Thank you very much in advance!

The game consisted of a geometric style drawing game set in "cyberspace" where you're trying to fix corrupted sectors. It had graphics similar to Smash Hit by Mediocre, where you were travelling through "tunnels". There were different obstacles thrown towards you, with different lines/patterns/runes drawn on them. You had to accurately sketch that rune on the screen with your finger to destroy the obstacle.

That's about as much as I remember, and I may have gotten some details wrong, so I'd be extremely impressed if anyone finds anything, but it's worth a shot! Thank you all very much.
