| Did Google remove multichannel PCM support in Android 9? Posted: 09 Nov 2020 09:33 PM PST The original Xiaomi Mi Box was the only affordable certified Android TV device with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio passthrough support, but it was removed in Android 9 by Xiaomi due to licencing restrictions. It appears though that multichannel PCM support was also removed as stated by u/Tomahkin in its own post. I was able to confirm this by connecting my Ematic Jetstream device (also with Android 9) to an AV receiver and it didn't play multichannel PCM either, instead, it was downmixed to PCM 2.0. Looks like Google removed multichannel PCM support or this is a bug plaguing every Android TV device where Android 9 is installed (except of course the Nvidia Shield), either way, this is unacceptable. 😡😡😡😡 SmarTVs running Android TV with or without eARC don't support multichannel PCM with internal apps so they don't apply to this situation. Does Android 10 support multichannel PCM or is it gone for good?. The Chromecast with Google TV, the Mecool KM1, KM3 and KM9 Pro are on Android 10, so I hope someone with any of those devices confirm this. Please, share your thoughts. [link] [comments] | ||
| Google Chromecast with Google TV and m3u player Posted: 10 Nov 2020 07:43 AM PST Hello I am new to this channel and looking for help. I just purchased Google Chromecast with Google TV, I normally use perfect player for my IPTV, however I get constant buffering on the Chromecast. When I was using a cheap Chinese box I never had issues. My speed test is 20 MBPS so there is no issue there, and again if I use the other box no issues. Would anyone be able to recommend a M3U player with EPG that works with Google Chromecast with Google TV. Thanks [link] [comments] | ||
| Best app for AirPlay 2 mirroring with AppleTV app Posted: 09 Nov 2020 07:20 PM PST I largely have an Apple environment, but I have an Android based projector (XGMI H2). I can mirror my phone to the screen, but as soon as I use the AppleTV app, it all stops working. Anyone got it to work, and what software did you use on the Android device? Thanks [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 09 Nov 2020 11:38 PM PST Hi everyone, requesting any assistance on my issue. I just bought the Mi TV Box S today(November 10)for my older 55'' TCL 55P65US. This is a Linux OS Tv with HDMI CEC support. I have seen some issues with this setup with the MI TV BOX S. INFORMATION: — updated to latest Android TV 9 — connected via High Speed HDMI cable to an HDMI ARC port in the TV — existing Roku Ultra, Nintendo Switch, and Digital box connected to another HDMI port via an HDMI splitter — PS4 connected to the last HDMI port (TCL tv only have 3 ports) ISSUES: Mi Box S android 9 — volume buttons not working when inside the app and playing video(Netflix/Prime etc when playing) but works outside playthrough and in the main homepage of Android TV — HDMI CEC support not working for MI Box S even though it is enabled in the TV and my Roku Ultra is able to open the tv and control the tv's volume; whilst the Xiaomi Mi Box S cannott CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WHAT TO DO? No guide online seems available how to fix this. In addition, can I just pair my Roku Ultra remote to the Mi Box S? Can I also pair another Android Tv remote to the Mi Box S(i have a TCL android Tv recently bought) I need the Android Tv because Roku is useless outside the US and I am currently in Asia, only Apps I have available is Youtube and Netflix. | Printscreen on Android TV via Smartphone. Posted: 09 Nov 2020 02:03 PM PST Hello everyone, I recently purchased a TV (TCL 55 "P8M) and through the TCL app (Magic Connect) I was able to take screenshots of the TV and share on social networks through the smarphone, however, the TV received an update and does not take more printscreen of any program, like IPTV, among others, it takes printscreen only of buttons and menus that are superimposed on videos. I know that on Netflix it was not possible, but in any and all video app? I think this is a huge slut, I tried everything , I installed another app and I couldn't, I changed the settings and permissions and nothing yet ... do I have to root the TV to get it? Is there any other way? [link] [comments] | ||
| Purple screen when trying to view Dolby Vision HDR movie. Posted: 09 Nov 2020 09:11 PM PST So I tried to watch Ready Player One in 4k HDR on my new TCL 43S434 using Google Play Movies & TV. Running the latest updated version of Android TV. It detects Dolby Vision and plays it using that. Issue is that the screen is a purple color and stays that way. The movie plays, I can hear sound and the music from the beginning intro credits. Thinking I may have an issue with playing HDR movies in general I tried another movie that's 4k and HDR, The Predator(yea, I know), and it works fine and looks great, the TV identifies it as HDR10. The only difference is Ready Player One is the only 4k HDR movie I have that has Dolby Vision. It has the purple screen issue. Other HDR movies do not. Is there a way to disable Dolby Vision and force HDR10? Or is there something else I can do? The TV itself is great and I like Android TV so far. Thanks for any help that is provided. | Posted: 09 Nov 2020 02:37 PM PST Looking to purchase new home and add doorbell and cameras. Anyone have any feedback on the Nest cameras on Android TV and how they work together? Would you get a pop up or notification when the doorbell rings? [link] [comments] | ||
| Phillips Android TV black home-screen background Posted: 09 Nov 2020 02:20 PM PST So last weekend I've acquired myself a brand new Philips 43PUS8545/12. Now I've seem to have encountered a problem with the android home screen. I have a black background and I know for a fact that this is not supposed to happen as when I first started it up, it had this beautiful colored background that changed color together with the ambilight when I hovered over an app in the home screen. It doesn't do that anymore. What can I do to fix this as it's annoying me nonstop. [link] [comments] | ||

(Looking at the lack of PS4 apps 4 years later) Anyway, has anyone with an Android TV used the Shudder App? [link] [comments] | ||

| Network Debugging Chromecast w/ Google TV Posted: 09 Nov 2020 11:54 AM PST Need some help. I'm wanting to use the "Refresh Rate" app, to remap my TV remotes home button to the home button for Google TV. I was able to do this on Nvidia Shield and it worked perfectly. However, doing this requires you to enable Network Debugging. Chromecast with Google TV has no option for Network Debugging. What can I do? [link] [comments] |
