| Posted: 21 Nov 2020 08:42 PM PST Okay so I'm in Canada, I bought a Samsung S20 Ultra 5G off Facebook marketplace back in September. Phone worked great until today when the SIM stopped being recognised by the phone - a quick google search & IMEI check suggested the phone had been blacklisted as lost/stolen. So I get in contact with the original seller (who I have the name/address/contact info of) and basically say money back or else I'll take his info to the police. He says he bought it off Craigslist before selling if on and that person is no longer replying to him. He says he can try and unlock the phone through a third party at his expense. He asks for my IMEI, the carrier and Baseband version. I've read about third party unlockings that exclude the US, but if it gets my phone working, saves the trouble of involving the police in something I'm unlikely to get anything back on, and saves the trouble of buying a new phone, I'm tempted. Is giving him this info (IMEI/carrier/Baseband version) a security risk to my data? Should I cut my losses and contact the police/original carrier? I've read somewhere about it being able to clone phones, but this seems as though it may be older generation phones that are affected (S8e for example). Any advice appreciated! [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 22 Nov 2020 11:46 AM PST Heya all, was recently gifted a hand me down Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 that's still in great condition. As I was using it for a bit, I realized I should do a factory reset considering there's been files already there. As I do the factory reset process and start the tablet up once again, I notice that a weird menu starts up called "Teamwin" and it gave me all sorts of options to do all kinds of things; I now realized it was a cracked (or hacked) tablet and was trying to figure out ways to get it back to normal but guides didn't seem to help. Everything on the tablet was wiped when I did the reset so none of the original files are there to help reset. So I was wondering if there's a way to get it back to its normal functioning mode without bricking it and essentially rendering the tablet useless. I wouldn't know how to post any information about it but I'll try my best if it is needed. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 22 Nov 2020 05:37 AM PST Currently on Sprint, using an S20 and an HTC One M8, running Bad Boyz Marshmallow v4.1, mostly for the unlimited WiFi hotspot. 6 years later the battery is swollen and it dies at 60%, so it's time for an upgrade. | Buffering and loading issues Moto G7 Power Posted: 22 Nov 2020 11:30 AM PST As of recently I have been getting constant buffering issues while using certain apps, in particular Twitch and Reddit. Twitch will buffer every few seconds and Reddit will often struggle to load images and gifs. Same goes for the unofficial versions. Restarting my phone will fix the problem for a little while but then it continues. YouTube (Vanced) will also occasionally buffer or reduce quality automatically, but not as badly.

I reformatted my phone yesterday and now that I've reinstalled TV, its still showing up as the old movies...format, icon, everything...even though I downloaded the correct one in the store that has the new icon and even says (formerly movies) or whatever is says. I live in sweden and befor i got my s20 ultra i had s8 and I send the Phone to person Who lives in turkey and turkey dosent let ppl import phones from Europ. It will be active for 120 days then the imei number gets blocked. The thing is local phone store dose change imei number for 300 400 turkish lira. Or i have to travel to turkey and get a stamp on my pasaport then i have to pay 1800 turkish lira to activated the original imei nr. I was thinking i can also do the same shit local phone store makes but i just need a good and working guide. When i search for it youtube turkish there are alot video and mostly fake videos anyone knows here how to do it? | Change folder color on Galaxy 20 Posted: 22 Nov 2020 04:42 AM PST Hey you guys. I just upgraded to a G20+ from a G9. I used to have nice folder colors that I set two years ago when the folder picker was the color wheel, allowing me to pick any color I wanted. Now with the matrix, I cannot do that (eg the two green columns are almost identical, but it goes to yellow from there, and there is no way to pick a nice lime color). I know this is not something that affects the operation of the phone, but it annoys me that they took away a good feature and replaced it with something rudimentary. (same as taking away the "gradually increase alarm volume" feature) So: does anyone know where the folder colors are stored? They never replicate through a backup-restore. I was thinking if I could manually edit maybe the #rgb color code, I would be a happy camper. [link] [comments] |

There is nothing in the world he is caring about not even his studies. Even in YouTube he is watching only FREEFIRE gameplay. This game is ruining him. It is kind of an addiction for him . I talked him advised him hundredth of times still he continues to ruin himself. Now the only option left for me is to make sure he can't install Freefire again in phone. Can anyone help me with it? I have just bought an S20 on the (in retrospect, stupid) assumption that I could load Lineage on it like I have with my now-replaced S9+ and before that S7. I have been very satisfied with Lineage w/o MicroG, so just wanted the same for my S20. Now, what I have done is open the bootloader, flashed TWRP (unoffical v) via Odin, formatted and tried to flash Lineage unoffical version 17.1 via TWRP. I am getting an error message that tellse me that the infrastructure is z3s (I have a standard S20) and for the x1q lineage build, a message saying the zip is corrupt. I can't turn the phone off either, it will just boot up again. My only goal is to degoogle and to have root access to install things like AfWall+. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |
