| Convert an old android phone into a bootable Virtual Machine on PC? Posted: 06 Nov 2020 05:44 AM PST Hello, I have an old android phone (Android version 4.1.2) that I'd like to save since it's pretty nostalgic to me. Would it be possible to save it like you'd do with an old PC so it would be bootable in a virtual machine (such as with an ISO)? [link] [comments] |

| Digital Wellbeing is recording Screen Time and Times Opened when phone is off Posted: 06 Nov 2020 08:24 AM PST So this is a weird one. I noticed yesterday that my app timer kicked me off of Twitter earlier than usual. When I looked at the Digital Wellbeing page in Settings, it showed ~10 mins of usage and 9 opens at ~4am, when I was sleeping. So last night I ran a little experiment. I made sure to go to bed before midnight, and when I did, I turned off my phone and did not plug it in or dock it. This morning I turned it on and opened Digital Wellbeing, and sure enough a bunch of apps show usage at 4am. WTF. I really don't think it's possible that in my sleep I turned on my phone, opened Relay 52 times, and then turned my phone off again. So something weird going on. Appreciate any help you all can lend. | Yo I love my Note 20 5G after switching from 13 years of Iphone I truly do love it, but FUCK! Posted: 05 Nov 2020 08:43 PM PST If somebody sends me a damn audio file in an email, And I download that fucker WHERE DOES IT GO?! If I swipe down and type in "storage," and pull up my storage, I can click fuckin audio and bam there it is... Can I export it to another file? Not that I can see... Is it played by any kind of a player with controls from there? No. Where the F in the phone are the audio files that you download from an email sent to?! Thank you to whoever answers this for me. 🫂 [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 06 Nov 2020 12:57 PM PST My Galaxy S10 automatically downloaded a file named px.bin while I was browsing on Samsung Internet. It was out of nowere, i didn't click anything, and when I saw the file details it had this link: p.adsymptotic.com. I just went to files and deleted it. Could it be a virus? It might still be in my phone or cause any damages? I just scanned the phone with the built in McAfee and it didn't find anything. I didn't install anything lately, and use the basic apps for message and social media, and never click on any ads. [link] [comments] |
| When I install a software update all my shortcut icon widgets change back to their original. Posted: 06 Nov 2020 12:36 PM PST So I use an app called Iconzy to make custom app icons (shortcuts to open apps) and to remove the app names from the home page. But whenever there is a new software update it always ends up removing the shortcut widgets and I need to spend a good 10-15 minutes changing all the icons back to the way I had them before. Is this something I can do anything about? Does anyone know why it happens? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
| Pixel 1 XL won't complete boot after freeze - tried a fresh OTA via ADB. Posted: 06 Nov 2020 12:34 PM PST My Pixel 1 XL had declining battery life to the point where it would die in a few seconds if not plugged in. I was still using it with an external battery pack until today when it froze and turned off. Now it won't boot past the G screen logo even when plugged in. Recovery mode seems to work fine though I haven't tried a factory reset yet. I sideloaded a fresh OTA image and it hasn't made any difference. Fresh charging cable also made no difference. Could this be caused by very low battery capacity? Up until now it was working fine as long as it was constantly plugged in. I can send it to get a new battery or replace it myself but I don't want to bother if there's some other problem. Does the Pixel XL have bootloop issues like the Nexus 5x did? This doesn't seem like a true bootloop anyway, it sometimes turns off or goes to the charging screen. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
| Nova Launcher keeps deleting Chrome Shortcuts Posted: 06 Nov 2020 12:10 PM PST I have a folder on my home screen that has a handful of Chrome website shortcuts (created by Chrome > Add shortcut to homescreen). For some reason, the shortcuts all get removed at random times. There are no updates to Chrome or Nova when this happens. Is there a reason this is happening? [link] [comments] |

| If I disabled the wifi and mobile data how app still show ads? Posted: 06 Nov 2020 11:53 AM PST I disabled data immediately after installing before launching the app. Is this how app ads work? independent of app's internet connectivity? [link] [comments] |
| Help: "Birthdays" Google calendar not appearing in third-party widgets Posted: 06 Nov 2020 11:52 AM PST I have a Xiaomi Mi 10. For some reason my "Birthdays" Google calendar is not displaying in any widget app, it only works in the official Google Calendar one. As of now I'm using the "Event Flow Widget", but I also tried like 5 or 6 more widgets and it's the same. I enabled the calendar in the widgets settings but nothing... All the other calendars are working fine. Any idea why this happens? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 06 Nov 2020 09:21 AM PST So I wanted to add an apps widget to my home screen (4.Do), but while it does show up in the widget list, if I click or drag the widget onto the home screen it does nothing - I tried it on an empty home screen, tried restarting, the other widgets work fine, it seems to only be this app - already tried looking online and for this specific app but they mainly seem to offer solutions when widgets aren't showing up in the list... App is installed internally (I don't have an SD), android version 8, non-rooted [link] [comments] |
| (Vmos Pro) Is it really not possible to emulate a higher android version on an Android phone? Posted: 06 Nov 2020 09:17 AM PST I just want to use an app for android 7 or higher but my phone is android 6 so I installed VMOS Pro to use android 7 (at least that was my intention). I'm just asking this because I'm not sure what is the cause of VMOS Pro android 7 VM not starting on my android 6 phone. It's stuck on black screen with "android" but it's animated (highlight effect on the text is animating) Or is there another possible reason specific to my phone? [link] [comments] |

| Google Assistant not recognizing voice commands after "hey google" Posted: 06 Nov 2020 07:21 AM PST Hi, I couldn't pin down exactly how long ago, but a few weeks ago my Google Assistant stopped responding to my voice commands. When I say "hey Google" the assistant launches, but it opens a field to type your command rather than just listening to what I asked it. There is a mic symbol in the right corner of the field to activate the voice listening, but it used to do it automatically. Up until... Maybe a month ago if I said "hey Google, what's the weather?" (For example) it would just respond. I often used it while driving for a safe, hands-free experience. In terms of trying to problem solve:
I'm not particularly techy, but I try to be thorough in my problem solving. I'm stumped. I need help please. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 06 Nov 2020 07:07 AM PST I woke up to this just plugged in my phone on the charger and it keeps taking me to that screen. It's annoying and it's still a new phone. [October 2019] Had it for a year now basically. [link] [comments] |
| My Galaxy S7's display is black, but still functions as a touch screen. How do I extract all data? Posted: 06 Nov 2020 07:03 AM PST I can pretty much only see the status bar at the top of the screen. I think the digitizer is borked. I can unlock the screen, and interact with my phone, just can't see what I'm doing. A recent android update disabled USB file transfer, so that setting is off currently (thanks google...). But, it could be switched on, if I knew where to press on the screen. Then potentially, I could use Smart Switch to get all the files. I just can't see what I'm doing. Any thoughts? Thanks!
