| It's amazing this subreddit can recommend games, no matter how ridiculous the request Posted: 16 Nov 2020 06:48 PM PST I mean I have seen people asked for: - High Quality, AAA+++ Graphics - Free - No Microtransaction - No Ads - Great Gameplay I mean when a game is Free, No Microtransaction, and no ads. The developer is basically works for free. I mean how do the developer even get paid. That is ridiculous, yet it still exists. My advice is, please support developer. Just because the game has no mtx, no ads, and free, doesn't mean the developer doesn't need money. If you like the game, perhaps donate something for him. You know, stop asking such a ridiculous request, not all paid games sucks, and not all mtx bad. Developer needs money. It's nothing wrong for not being "F2P". You are basically paid for something fun, like when go to the movie, amusement park, or others. I myself have bought a couple of IAPS and Paid Games, and some of them really worth every penny (Void Tyrant, Sky Fore Reloaded, Dead Cells, etc). [link] [comments] | ||
| [Request] RPGs with complex mechanics. Posted: 17 Nov 2020 08:06 AM PST I've been looking for more than a year for RPG Games with Complex Mechanics and interesting gameplay Might piss some people off, but if SsethTzeentach would make a review, that's the kind of game i'd want to play. Something like Caves of Qud, Underrail, Cataclysm DDA or RimWorld… People always ask me to try Nethack but i feel it is too simple Some games i've tried and didn't feel satisfied:
. . . . - Cataclysm DDA : CDDA actually satisfied everything i've wanted from a game, every single mechanic is interesting, it is always being developed and it's easy to learn… The only problem i have with it, is that it runs really freaking slow on my Moto G6, to the point reading and crafting takes too much time for it to be worth playing… . . . . . - Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup : The Tiles version has really hard to use controls, i know it's hard to make a game with so many commands work in mobile, but CDDA managed to do it well enough, in it, you can bind some of the keys to a low bar on the screen, but in DCSS you have to pull up your keyboard every time you want to make an action, which makes it annoying to use and hard to focus on the game… mix that with the fact you have to zoom in and out depending on if you want to read the console, see your stats or see the game because it is a web port with PC-Like resolutions, and you get a game i wouldn't bother playing out of frustration. . . . . . - NEO Scavenger: Although NEO Scavenger is another great game, i felt it was lacking in stuff to do… it does have a lot of mechanics, but once you get most of them, the game gets kinda repetitive… but it is indeed, a really good example of the kind of games i like, it has hunger, thirst, you can craft, has complex armor mechanics, has good graphics, it is really worth it's price because it has a lot, and the whole lot is polished to the max. . . . . And i really can't think of any other examples, that could fit, but didn't quite… Do y'all have any recommendations of games with the kinds of mechanics these games have??? maybe some open source games that are a bit unknown, not on Play Store. I wouldn't mind as long as they are at least similar to these games. And yes, i'm quite aware that making games with complex mechanics and easy controls on Mobile is a hard task, but i've been surprised before back when i first heard of Cataclysm and it had everything i wanted from a game. Being able to name, mod, and clean a weapon with detailed description, using different types of oils and stuff, was what made me a happy person playing this game back in Stable, where it actually ran good enough on my Moto G6 [link] [comments]
| Game with the main focus being upgrading character(s) gear/skills/levels etc? Posted: 17 Nov 2020 10:16 AM PST I really like games where you're constantly improving your character through new skills and gear. In terms of actual gameplay I'm pretty open - I love JRPGs like Final Fantasy, ARPGs like PoE, western RPGs like skyrim/neverwinter nights, and rogue likes like pixel dungeon and stoneshard. I'm hoping to find a game with these traits that plays well using only mobile controls! Here are some games I've played and love: Final fantasy series - I love these games. They tend to focus more on the story than character building, but are excellent. I especially love FFT. Dragon Quest series - I enjoy these as well! Really great mobile controls. Neverwinter Nights - Another top tier game, and with likely my favorite style of character advancement. Not great on mobile, however. KOTOR - Love, same as above. Pixel Dungeon - Played a ton, but I wish there were more class skills and leveling beyond just gear. These are just a few examples. Hopefully you can give me some good ideas! I'm currently downloading 9th Dawn 3 and Raziel to test, so we'll see how I like those. [link] [comments] | ||
| [REQUEST] Looking for games with character build variations Posted: 17 Nov 2020 01:12 PM PST I've been obsessed with Path of Exile lately, and I'm looking for games for my phone that provide a similar kind of experience where you can vary character builds a lot and it feels different from build to build and have a rewarding grind of some kind. What I'm not looking for is gatcha games, they always lock all the fun stuff behind bad p2w rng Doesn't have to play like a Diablo-style ARPG (I do have Titan Quest, it works alright but I don't really like TQ), what I'm looking for is a depth and variation of mechanics where it doesn't feel like I'm getting the exact same experience as everyone else. A lot of phone RPGs and such do have superficial character customization that doesn't really have much depth once you try to squeeze the numbers a bit. I don't even know if a game like this exists for android, but if you know anything that sounds even remotely like this I'd be interested in taking a look. The GPlay store is packed full of colorful and completely superficial "RPGs" that just guide you through the same basic steps with no indication of any meaningful customization... I just wanna feel like I'm in control of how the game plays a little bit [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 17 Nov 2020 01:12 PM PST This is what I believe to be the ideal gaming phone. I would like to ask if I have missed anything out. If anyone wonders why I'm doing this, it's because I feel that while gaming phones have come a long way, they're still not quite there yet, so I would like to have an ideal to look up to if nothing else. Besides, I might as well bank on the off chance someone from some OEM might come by… even if it is a very long shot. Image for reference. Not drawn to scale except for the screen. -The latest Snapdragon flagship chipset (of course) -An app that allows for dedicating of resources like memory to games, perhaps with an option to overclock the device -16:9 or 18:9 screen (image shows 16:9) with sharp corners, at 144Hz refresh rate (or whatever the fastest possible is), and a touch sampling rate of at least twice that -Choice of LCD or AMOLED (i.e. comes in 2 models with different screens). I prefer LCD because of its advantages but I understand very well that I'm in the minority -Minimum IP53 rating (so your drink that spills on your phone doesn't instantly kill it) -Giant symmetrical bezels (don't want all those accidental touches, now) filled with front-facing stereo speakers (preferably slightly raised to help protect the screen) -Fast charging capability (50W?) with a large battery (5000mAh?) -Selfie camera at the side -Rear cameras in the middle of the back (do you want OIS with that?) -Headphone jack and second USB-C port at the side opposite from the selfie camera -Four buttons that can be mapped to different shortcuts for claw grip players (thumb grip players will only use two of these buttons) with the same touch sampling rate as the screen; buttons can be capacitive or physical (image shows physical) -Left and right gamepads that can be attached to either end of the phone -A mainly metal back to help with cooling down the phone, with a plastic cutout for wireless charging capabilities (15W? 18W? 30W?) that can be useful to index/all finger players, and some high grip surfaces for claw grip and thumb grip players to hold on to, and so that the phone doesn't move around during index or all finger play when you don't need or have the accessory described below -An accessory that can hold itself (maybe by using suction) and the phone in place so as to allow index or all finger play without having to worry about the phone moving around, with an active cooling function to keep the phone cool during gameplay. May or may not be compatible with other devices, particularly larger ones like tablets -Two separate cases for the phone that are compatible with some sort of active cooling fan attachment (e.g. Black Shark FunCooler Pro) and the gamepads: one with a second screen (again, choice of LCD or AMOLED), and one without I believe that not only should there be a possibility to actively cool a gaming phone at all times, it's better for any active cooling functionality to be separate from the phone, rather than being built into the phone. I find that the build quality of the Red Magic series gaming phones suffers due to the built-in cooling fan, for example. In addition, the ideal gaming phone should be able to accommodate for all sorts of playing styles, as well as all sorts of games that are possibly playable on mobile phones. Also a few questions. How important would an SD card or NFC be to a gaming phone? I hear that those who emulate games on phone may have use for an SD card, and the ROG phones use NFC to produce special effects like custom wallpapers depending on whether a certain case is used. And how much does bloatware affect the gaming experience? Would having stock Android for example result in a better gaming experience than having a lot of bloatware? And would it be better for the top and bottom bezels to be left empty and for the gamepads to be on top of the bezels (e.g. by sliding them into place), thus restricting the front-facing speakers to the side bezels, or would it be better for the gamepads to be beside the bezels? | [Request] Looking for a single player pokemon like game with no energy/micro transactions? Posted: 16 Nov 2020 03:40 PM PST TLDR: looking for game with:
Hello! So I'm looking for a team battler type game where you can get new team members, train them, ect. But with no microtransactions/energy. I fully expect to pay for this, so don't fret about it being paid. I would also like if it's actually difficult with strategy, and not a "it's hard because you haven't grinded enough" type of hard. The annoying thing is I found one I REALLY liked and had a cool open world/side quests, ect. but as soon as you beat the first half, it became energy based in the second act? That was annoying. So I just convinced myself the first act was the entire game, and it wasn't a bad deal for 5$. Yes this is basically Pokemon, but I beat all the pokemon games I liked and I really wish there were ways for them to be more difficult, since strategy is pretty brainless for most of them. So hoping someone has a gem for android! [link] [comments]

| Posted: 17 Nov 2020 08:56 AM PST Hello Fellow 'droiders! I'm looking for an Elite Dangerous wannabe or something similar. I'd love high quality 3D models (because who doesn't) but I'm willing to overlook mediocre graphics for engaging gameplay and/or a complicated web of lore. I'm sure that nothing on the mobile market would stand up to the beauty that is Elite Dangerous but if any of you CMDRS out there found something cut from the same cloth, please share your find. Thanks homies! [link] [comments] | ||

| Help needed trying to write a program to solve a puzzle Posted: 17 Nov 2020 08:42 AM PST Just for fun, I have been trying, far less than successfully, to write a program to solve Einstein's Riddle Logic Puzzles, see https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rottzgames.logic. I code the board as layers, columns, and items. Each rule is them translated into two layer/item pairs; for example, a textual rule can become 1C-4B. The program I have written properly executes all of the games 'rules' and it also looks for a single item on a layer and recognizes that that must be the item in the column in which it appears. In fact, for one super simple game, my program actually came up with the correct answer. However, as I try the more reasonable puzzles, the answer is not correct. For example, in the game Hard:#1, there are five layers and six items. Thus, a proper result would have just six 'columns' of results. However, the best I have been able to do is 19 columns (and in these 19 solutions are the correct six). I am clearly missing something to eliminate the extraneous 'solutions' (which are wrong!). I have looked over this particular game in great detail, but do not see any way to use an indirect approach to help eliminate some of the wrong answers. So, please, if you have any insights, algorithms, etc., please share. Please. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 16 Nov 2020 11:12 PM PST I played it ages ago and it had some overall issues, but it was a blast. You grew crops and different types of zombies (big, small, regular. Different colors were different tiers) and you could mix the crops with zombies to make hybrids and go raid farms. Anyone know where I could find it? I assume the support stopped and they dropped it. Would like to even know the name of the developer [link] [comments] | ||
