| Disappointed in Chromecast with Google TV so far Posted: 25 Oct 2020 05:52 PM PDT First off, I am a HUGE Android TV (Google TV) fan and even sang its praises on here recently. I had a Nexus Player (Google's only other directly sold product with Android TV, that I am aware of) and it was awesome. Still to this day the best streaming device and OS I've ever had. It died when millions worldwide died on the same day. That still has never been fully explained, to my knowledge. I've been waiting for Google to release another Android TV device since then. So I bought a Chromecast with Google TV the day it was launched. I have to say I am disappointed thus far. It definitely has the feel of a product that wasn't ready for release. Issues I can think of: When I first set it up it would not bring in any of my Google Play TV and Movies content. None. Showed an empty library. Even when I searched for a movie or show I already owned it would try to make me repurchase it. That issue appears to have been fixed a week or so in. Kudos to them for fixing it. I have lots of casting issues. When I try to cast from the ESPN app on my phone it tells me to select content even though I am actively playing a video in the ESPN app. Mirror casting from my Samsung phone is useless. It is so choppy and buggy it isn't usable. I can mirror cast to a much lower spec Roku with no issues at all. Streaming via built in Google TV apps sometimes doesn't work. ESPN app is a good example. It will buffer every 3 or 4 seconds. I can pull up the exact same stream on the exact same network on my phone or Chromebook and it works flawlessly. There are other issues I have noticed but can't think of them right now. [link] [comments] | ||

| PS4 controller not working with hisense tv Posted: 25 Oct 2020 11:09 AM PDT Hey, I am trying to get my ps4 controller working wirelessly with my tv but it seems to only work when wired. I have a Hisense 55H8G running android pie and a dualshock 4 controller model AK8CUHZCT1A. For some reason it pairs just fine and shows up as "wireless controller", but just doesn't do anything when I move the sticks. When I connect a micro usb cable to the controller and the tv, it works flawlessly. Any ideas on how to get it working wirelessly? Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
| Android TV Audio Lag - TCL 50S434 Posted: 25 Oct 2020 01:18 PM PDT I am experiencing audio sync issues on the built in apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube. The lips of people are out of sync with the audio from the TV speakers. No sound bar or anything, and audio and video settings are default, although I've tried other settings to try to reduce processing, but that hasn't helped. Anyone know of any way to fix this? Oddly if I put up a basic YouTube audio sync video (e.g. twitch has one), it seems fine, so I suspect it may be due to some video or audio processing? Edit: I just tried plugging in a spare Chromecast, and don't experience this lag with the external Chromecast. But I do experience it with the "Chromecast built-in" and built in apps. | Chromecast YouTube TV = INFERIOR Picture Posted: 25 Oct 2020 10:34 AM PDT SOLVED - SEE BELOW. Our home wi-fi uses the Google Mesh system, and neither TV is more than 20' from the nearest router. The internet coming into our home is 300MB fiber optic. SO - we have these new, inferior Google Chromecast YouTube TV dongles that nicely pull everything together, but deliver a really inferior and often crap picture. We complained about the first adapter and after a LOT of troubleshooting, they sent me a new one. SAME problems! What is YOUR experience, compared to what you used before this new hardware? SOLUTION: Match content frame rate is under the Chromecast settings under Video. So long-press Home, Settings, Display and Sounds. Make sure that "match content frame rate" is selected! That completely fixed the bad video on my LG OLED tvs! [link] [comments] | ||
| Google TV: can I get rid of suggestion for services I do not subscribe to? Posted: 25 Oct 2020 11:01 AM PDT I reckon that Google wants to sell their ads to services, but I don't find relevant to see recommendations on my Google TV home page for "Disney+" programs when I don't have this subscription. Any idea how to get rid of if? [link] [comments] | ||
| Bluetooth headphone issue with new Chromecast with Google Tv Posted: 25 Oct 2020 07:56 AM PDT Listening with bluetooth headphone with new Chromecast with Google TV is a mess. When you pair your device with the headphone for the first tiime It works well. However if you turn off your headphone and turn it on again Chromecast connect to the device but doesn't send sound anymore even if you disconnect and reconnect no way it the sound doesn't work anymore. You have to forget the bluetooth headphone and pair it again and again again. I don't know if you are facing the same problem [link] [comments] | ||
