    Android 11 broke controller support

    Ever since the android 11 update, my Pixel 2XL no longer works with controllers in games.

    The controllers connect to the device and work at the home screen, but as soon as a game is launched most of the controls stop working. The analogue sticks, triggers, dpad and bumpers all refuse to work.

    The only buttons that do work are A,B,X,Y,start,menu and guide.

    I have tried 3 different types of controller, Xbox one elite V1 via usb otg, Xbox one via Bluetooth and otg and a game sir T1 via Bluetooth and otg. All of these worked under android 10 and still work on my partner's galaxy s10e with Android 10.

    Hopefully this is an isolated incident and not wide spread. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Android Email App keeps trying to auth my work email

    Hey guys,

    So I set up my work email in the Outlook app and everything is working fine on that end, but Androids default email app keeps popping up a notification that says "New Email Account - Tap here to validate settings and set up email account." If i click into it I can cancel it asking for my password, and then click delete under the email, but every 15 min or so it keeps coming back. Is there any way to disable the app completely, as I have no plans to use it? Let me know, thanks!

    How well do AirPods work with and Android phone?

    I am looking for wireless earbuds for my Samsung Galaxy S20. All of the 'Android targeted' options seem to be the design with the interchangeable little rubber nipple that I just do not find comfortable.

    I read an article about how AirPods can be used by Android devices and have been thinking about buying a set.

    So has anyone used AirPods with their Android phone(s), and how good/bad are they?

    How can I test the longevity of the battery?

    I have an old Android tablet I want to sell, but I have the feeling the battery might be a little damaged. I don't want to sell it for a price that it is not right and then have people complain and leave bad reviews on Marketplace and such.

    Now... how can I test/benchmark the battery to know how'll it perform with continious, midly intense use? I was thinking maybe I could just play a movie on repeat on max brightness and see how long does the batter last. How would you go about it? Are there any apps or something to do this automatically and with precision?

    I came across AccuBattery, but I believe this is for more long-term analysis as it requires charging and discharging the battery several times over a period of time, I don't know how long. (Bonus questions: how can I use this app on my daily driver? What are some modern day recommendations for better health?)

    Do I have to reflash a kernel after updating (dirty-flashing) a newer build of my current ROM?

    I'm using Weeb Projekt ROM on my Redmi Note 7, and I also flashed a custom kernel (Predator Stormbreaker 8.8) because I was concerned about the battery life of my device. Everything is great, but the ROM doesn't support OTA updates, and I never manually updated custom roms (especially with custom kernels) and now the question is, do I have to reflash the kernel after updating the ROM or no?

    How can I remap a Xbox controller without root?

    I connected my Xbox 360 controller to my phone but the right thumbstick and the shoulder buttons are mixed up. I only found free apps which can remap simple buttons without axes. Do you know a solution?

    Google pay issues

    Hey, so I recently (as in last week) got my first android phone, previously being an iPhone user. Overall I'm very pleased and impressed but there's one thing bugging me that I'm curious to find out if anyone can help fix.

    I used to use apple pay every day to get the bus back from work and for the shops on the way home however after switching over and setting up google pay I've had an issue where it take 1-2 minutes and numerous attempts to get the contactless payment to work which can be awkward when getting the bus or holding people up at the shops, being British after the 4th or 5th attempt at the shops I just left quickly without my shopping.

    Is this a common issue? Am I doing anything wrong? Previously I've had no issues with apple pay and the payments are almost instantaneous.

    Thanks for reading and let me know if you think there's anything I can do or if you've been through the same thing.

    Help with aminor irritant I've observed in Q based ROMS...

    Is there any way to fix this new thing in Q based ROMS that there's no clear all apps button in recents , it's pathetic that i have to slide all the way one by one ,just miss that old clear all apps button . Also why is there no gallery coming directly with the ROM like it used to previously ?! Any fix for that ?

    Rooting advice! Samsung J7 (2016) SM-J710MN cant unlock bootloader?

    Hey guys! I'm having a hard time getting through this step. I'm currently following this guide: https://gearallnews.com/how-to-root-galaxy-j7-2016-sm-j710mn-and-install-twrp/

    I already downloaded all parts listed and got the pre-requisites done. Thing is I install the ADB driver and it says my device has its ADB already installed. Good. So... I open my command window. I imput my commands and: "adb" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

    Damn. So, I went to my AppData/Local folder, and there is no Android folder to be found (or adb.exe either).

    Anyone had this problem before? Sorry if my english is shit. Not my main language. Thank you all for the time!

    I can't use RCS in Google Messenger

    I have been using Google Messenger as my default app and enabled chat. However, I can't like messages nor do I seem to have any control chatting over RCS or SMS. How do I get control?

    Upgraded to a galaxy s10, now my contact groups don't work

    The existing groups show up, I can make new ones, but no matter what I do I can't search groups, call them, text them, etc. If I try to text a group right from the group section it starts a text with only one person. I've also tried multiple messaging apps. Any ideas?

    In the picture on the left is in gallery and on the right is my homescreen. it seems like on the right the apps are the same brightness as the pic on the left and that the pic is dimmed on the right for some reason. is there a wY to make the left and right pic the same brightness?

    recovering data from redmi note 9S/pro

    I recently sent my phone to be fixed and it came back with non of my data, their service is already closed for today but tomorrow I will find out if it was a factory reset or if they switched my board or storage to a new one, if they switched, I will try to get my old board back. could it be possible to extract my data from the board, the storage is UFS2.1

    Experiencing a "Gray-screen filter" bug recently. Is this an android, or a device problem?

    I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 for around 2 years now.
    Since a few days, I started experiencing a very weird phenomena, which is basically that 2/3 of the screen will be a shade darker (like some kind of filter) with occasional glitching on the bottom (don't know how to describe them, basically green static/whirring).

    The problem isn't constant luckily. It goes away mostly with a change of the brightness and -in the worst case - a restart of the phone, disappearing for around half an hour till it starts again.

    I looked potential problems up and lot of the answers suggest it could be an android problem, but I'm not 100% sure. I did every update so far and I don't know how to identify a "faulty app" that's sometimes said to be the cause, furthermore I have a slight suspiscion it could be the display, regarding my phone...well...let me say it's already a bit damaged (overheats fast, broken vibration function).

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    I wish I could just use my current Gmail but it's not the most professional email. No inappropriate but not really something I want on my resume. And my account is to old to change my email address. Has anyone created a new Google account and migrated all their data before?

    How do I remove holidays from android calender?

    My new phone is a Samsung Galaxy A71 (international version I think), Im in Australia.

    I cant see any settings where I can hide the national Australian holidays in my calender, so it only shows the events I've personally added.

    Is there a way to do this?!?!?

    How to backup, restore and share Android settings on a multi-user system?
