And the volume bar keeps popping up. The headset works fine on other devices. Restarted phone and cleaned the head Jack area. Still no luck. I would greatly appreciate help [link] [comments] |

My partner had two old LG Stylo 2 Plus phones buried in storage and said I could have them, and I'd love to use them for something, but I'm not sure what they're capable of or useful for. For context, I'm mainly a Mac/Apple user (yes I know forgive me) who's into music, gaming, and amateur film-making, and I'm knew to tech stuff but interested to play around with these phones and see if I can do something. Both phones definitely need new screens (one is visibly cracked and the other will display a dim light from the corner but is otherwise permanently black screened) but if there's some fun or useful things I can do with them, I'd be willing to get them repaired. | Posted: 21 Oct 2020 05:34 AM PDT I bought a new 256gb sandisk ultra sd card for my realme 5 pro and I transferred some files and videos there but when I try to open the videos, they won't play. I then re-inserted the sd card and it notified me that the sd card is corrupted and needs to be formatted, in my settings I have the option of formatting it. I tried it but it has been about 45 minutes since it started and I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to take that long. I wasn't able to open my phone while it was formatting cause well, it's formatting. So in an effort to cancel the format that was taking forever, I removed the sd card while it was formatting. As of now, I have tried this process thrice and I can't seem to get any results. I am completely fine with formatting it since the files I transferred weren't really important and I'm perfectly fine with losing it, I just need to fix it cause I'm running out of space. | LG K51 front facing camera not working Posted: 21 Oct 2020 12:27 PM PDT My LG K51 had automatic update last night. While video chatting with someone today it began to run very slowly, like 1 frame every 5 seconds. Now when I open the camera app, or any app with a camera I can not switch to front facing camera. I've tried clearing the data on my camera, gallery, and doing an app reset in the settings and I still can not get it to work. Any ideas of what it could be? [link] [comments] |
| S10+ intermittently freezing / incredibly slow Posted: 21 Oct 2020 12:12 PM PDT Hi everyone. I posted about this in the galaxy S10 subreddit a while ago and received some advice, but the problem came back in full force so I thought I'd try my luck here. My S10+ has gone from intermittent slowness to serious lag all around. Some symptoms include:
I haven't experienced anything like this with phones in the past and am at my wits' end trying to troubleshoot. So far, I've:
No changes, nothing looks out of place, issues and slowness remained consistent, so I eventually performed a factory reset. It DID fix the problem (it was so nice to have the phone back to normal again!) and I re-installed applications 1 by 1. Everything seemed to be working great when all of a sudden the lag returned. I hadn't installed a new application when it happened or done anything different. I even backtracked and uninstalled several of the most recent applications to see if it helped, and it unfortunately didn't. I contacted Samsung and they want to bring the phone in for service, but I use it for work and personal, can't imagine being without it for so long. Any advice is tremendously appreciated. | Got a green tint issue on my Pixel 4 with the latest Android R Posted: 21 Oct 2020 11:35 AM PDT Hi guys, I've installed the latest version of Android R on my Pixel 4 and I found that there's a color issue with the display. Here's how the issue appear: When I turned on the "Smooth Display" option, the display would got a green tint when the refresh rate on 90hz, and once I stop touching the screen, the refresh rate reduced to 60hz and the green tint will disappear. If I go to "Settings - System - Developer Setting" and force the device running on 90hz, the display would always get green tint. But though I turn off the "Smooth Display" , the display is still got green tint. I've rooted my phone I don't know whether it would cause any impact. This is an annoying problem and I haven't found any method to fix it. Are there any other users experiencing this problem as well? [link] [comments] |
| How would one monitor and analyze network activity on an Android device? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 11:31 AM PDT I tried a few little Wireshark knockoffs but it's just not cutting the cake. Plus the file it spits out, I might as well just use Wireshark anyway because there's no Android apps that can read it effectively without glitching. Even if I need a PC, I want maximum information that I can squeeze out of it. I don't trust some background apps and I swear some nefarious privacy invasion is occuring, but either way I'm 99% sure some uncalled-for bullshit is eating up all my bandwidth when I'm trying to do other things. | Very particular question involving flash backups Posted: 21 Oct 2020 11:23 AM PDT So I broke the glass on my Note 10+, which is unlocked, so my carrier's insurance sent me a replacement model, which is cool and all except it isn't unlocked and comes with Verizon bloatware; so is it possible to back up the older phone's flash storage and restore it on the replacement model to get rid of bloatware? | Playing Music Through Honda Bluetooth - No Folder shuffle anymore? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 11:18 AM PDT I'm not 100% sure this is an Android issue but here goes. I have a Samsung J1 Galaxy and I have an SD card on it with my MP3s organized into folders by artist. All of these folders are in a folder called Music on the SD card. I've synced this phone with my 2017 Honda Fit and, until recently, it was working great. It detected the music on the SD drive, and allowed folder randomization and seek functions through the different artists. But now, all of that is gone. I can play the music, but the folder structure isn't seen by the car anymore, and there are no randomization controls, so now it just runs through all of the albums. I've noticed that under My Files on the phone, under Audio files, it shows a big long list of the individual song MP3s, but not the folders. Looking on the SD card, I see the correct folder structure. I'm wondering if I played through the music it was copied over from the SD card to a "recently played" Music folder? Basically I'd like to force the car to get the music from the SD card and show the folders. I'm unsure why it isn't doing it anymore. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 21 Oct 2020 09:27 AM PDT I need to back up my phone samsung s10 because I'm sending it to get repaired. I'm using smart switch like on my previous phone s8. It backs up applications and other things but then it stops and gets stuck. It gets stuck on a message gallery event 25%. I left it like that for 2 hours and i tried three times. I restarted the phone and pc and app so i dont know what to do or what that gallery event thing is. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this problem? [link] [comments] |

If you want to use the live blurry background for this, you need to enable screen capture. I can enable it and give the permission but it only works very laggy. Concerns with OnePlus: Security: Is it secure or do they likely give my meta data to the Chinese government? I am aware that this happens with western governments but I'm trying to get LESS governments reading my data, not more. Selfie camera: The moving part associated with this is concerning however, I haven't read anything that leads me to believe that they are breaking Customer service: I read one review online that the customer service was subpar for OnePlus but this was only one anecdote. Concerns with Samsung Slow updates: Samsung isn't the best with speedy updates Software: I like minimal skin action in my UI, can I get around all of the Samsung "skin" by using Nova launcher? | Malware distributed by game company? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 09:06 AM PDT My Android phone does not restart of factory reset following use/installation of a game called puzzle hockey by What Games. The screen flickers and is loaded with ads at all times ever since. Also all web browsers search in offline mode almost exclusively. Sometimes I can glitch the phone out enough after a "factory reset" to see old programs that should have been erased by the reset or old contact numbers. I even bought a new phone, but it seems to have been compromised by "low power Bluetooth" just by being in vicinity of the old phone. Same thing, nefarious uninstallable apps that install from unknown sources silently in the background while also using draw over apps to hide the activity. It seems like a maze of launchers on my Android preventing any return to normal functionality. What do I do???? Here's an excerpt from the company I believe that started the problems. Posted: 21 Oct 2020 08:16 AM PDT I just bought a Samsung s20 FE after being with oneplus for the past 5 years and I have realised I have taken oneplus' dash charger for granted. The plus side is I can finally use wireless charging and since I also have a galaxy watch (and possibly getting wireless chargeable headphones) I have been looking at the multi device products. They look good until I check the details and either their max watts is no full speed or they say 15w total, meaning if you are charging more than one device it won't be going at full speed. Are there any wireless chargers that can do 15w wireless phone charging while also charging my watch and/or other devices too? [link] [comments] |

Big mistake btw, it didn't come with google apps pre installed. However it did have google play services. Anyway, I recently left the country, and found a Googleplay store APK, which is good. But I can't download Netflix from the store... it says that my device is not compatible with the app. My question is, is there a way I can download the app?
