[DEV] My new game 'Orion' is now released! Keys giveaway and Beta results.

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 03:34 AM PDT

Hello everyone, it took a year to get here but now it's finally ready! First I'd like to thank all the beta testers for helping me get a better insight on what needed to be improved and what needed to be fixed (every single bug report I received has been fixed!). Unfortunately I could not find a way to reward the beta testers directly with Google Play as it was my plan to gift all of them a key to remove ads, so instead, I decided to do a giveaway on launch day!

    Giveaway:

For the first 24h (ends at 12pm GMT+1 October 17th) the first 200 people to send me a pm will receive a key to remove ads! (if you participated in the beta let me know and I'll send you a key anyway)

    Keys Redeemed: 120/200

    About the game:

Orion is a minimalist arcade game which combines mini-golf and air hockey in fun and unique skill based levels with some elements of puzzle in the mix. It's an experience, or, as the title suggests, a journey. The game has a calm sense to it, along with great visuals and pleasing colors.

The game consists of 200 hand made levels, where each level is very quick to complete, as such, there are no loading or level completed screens. Everything is dynamic.

    Features:

    • Play Offline
    • 200 Handmade levels
    • Multiple ways of beating the same level
    • All levels are free
    • Game progress is saved automatically
    • Achievements

    Beta Improvements:

    • New level pack with a new unique mechanic
    • Reworked a lot of the levels to make them more fun to complete
    • Improved all of the game audio and added a lot of new sounds
    • Improved default background effects
    • Improved some animations
    • Added new achievements
    • Reduced respawn time by a lot
    • Lots of bug fixes

    Special thanks:

    • Every single one of the beta testers for being awesome and helping me improve the game
    • Subreddit moderators for doing a great job

    Links to the game:

    Orion on the App Store

I made it with Unity, any questions, feedback or suggestion is highly appreciated!

    Have fun!

Space Marshals 3, the latest in Pixelbite's popular series, is heading to Android later this month

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 05:05 AM PDT

Pixelbite Games recently announced that Space Marshals 3 will be heading for iOS and Android later this month. The latest installment in the popular series will have a slightly different release approach from its predecessors with the developers opting to release the game in a series of chapters.

The first chapter will consist of 12 different missions with the first two being free to try. Each subsequent chapter will then be available through an additional in-app purchase. According to Pixelbite, they plan to release at least an additional two chapters after the game launches, and work on these installments is already underway.

If you're unfamiliar with the Space Marshals series, it's a top-down twin-stick shooter with more of a focus on tactics than is common elsewhere in the genre. You'll need to take cover when appropriate and make you use a large arsenal of weapons to defeat your foes.

The game will be heading into the Play Store soon, although there is no word yet on the release date. You can read more about the news here.

What is the best match 3 game on the market that has portrait mode?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 05:27 PM PDT

I'm moving on from GoW bc the game became way too time heavy with guild recs. I'd like something similar in portrait mode

[DEV] Working on a gaming social media app need some feedback

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 06:43 AM PDT

Hi guys I need your feedback on this project that I've been working on. It's an app where you can easily record, edit and share your gaming clips from your phone, PC or consoles, think of it as tiktok but exclusively for gaming. I feel that there is not really any platform where people can share their gaming clips and engage with others easily. Of course there's Reddit but the experience is not seamless, you get interrupted by text forums and have to separately visit subreddits to get content for your favourite games. I am thinking more on the side of a social media for gamers to share their clips with their friends and possibly rest of the world

There is no creator tool for gamers out there which enables people to easily record and edit their clips. Honestly, I have personally backed out of uploading so many CSGO/PUBG plays I recorded, solely due to the fact that I would have had to edit them before I could share the clip. I believe with easy to use editing tools it is possible to remove this friction and make it accessible for everyone to effortlessly share their gaming moments with the world.

As of now the app has a tiktok-like feed where you can scroll through a bunch of short gaming videos. If you're interested here's the link for the prototype <https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ggtv&referrer=rhelp>. I have also created a discord server <https://discord.gg/JxYUwC> where I am online all the time and I ask you guys to come and give me your valuable feedback and help me out, every little thing counts so please do not hesitate.

Thank you so much for taking out your time and reading through the whole thing, I hope you'll try out the prototype and share your honest thoughts with me <3

TLDR: I'm trying to make a short video sharing platform for gaming with easy to use editing tools. Have made a prototype for the same and would really appreciate if anyone could check it out and share their honest and brutal opinions.

    Games at lower resolutions?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 04:56 PM PDT

I've been playing Pubg mobile at 720p instead of 1080p and it runs way smoother on the lower resolution. But that's only because there are advanced Graphics tools for pubg mobile. I've been looking for a way to do the same thing with call of duty mobile. Is there any way to run android games at a lower resolution without changing the whole phone's existing resolution? I know it's possible because it works completely fine on pubg but I'm looking to so the same on other games (as I said earlier, CODM)

Games like stardew valley in the skill/ building/ just exploring wise

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 12:00 PM PDT

Hey, I love this game. The farming isn't really what appeals to me most but what does is the cozy feel, being able to walk around the city and talk to people and it's pixelated (reminds me of Pokémon) and just the general living aspect, day to day, weather, Events, a calendar with events.

What I love most is just having my own area though and being able to live in it and upgrade it.

Anyone know games like this? It can be super violent like skyrim type, I just like the base building and exploration and talking to people part.

    I have a galaxy tab s7 btw

What happened to Playscape (aka Mominis or Adzert Corp)?

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 07:31 AM PDT

I used to play their games so much around eight or seven years ago. I still remember them being available for some years later without issues under the name Adzert Corp.

Sadly this developer seems like it silently vanished without any trace. I only managed to find very old articles about their all-in-one achievements app where you could see your progress in all of their games (This is much before Google Play Games).

Does anyone at least remember playing their games? All of them had this loading screen (after they changed their name from Mominis)

Some of their games are Bouncy Bill, Monster Smasher and Ninja Chicken.

Anyone know of a great survival game? (description for details)

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 08:53 AM PDT

I'm not looking for any survival game. I looking for something with a hunger system and base building. If anyone knows one with quests as well, that would be awesome. And please, no zombie survival games(tired of those) and I already have minecraft (bit bored of it).

    Thanks in advance.

Been playing The Wanderer on permadeath. I paid real money to have my game restored in their app store and I got screwed. Thoughts?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 06:55 PM PDT

I realize this is going to sound retarded but I lost my beloved dog in the game on one day then the next day I died. I've been running this account for weeks.

So I shell out money to revive my character and they revive me in fuckin africa a thousand miles from my camp. I died almost instantly.

I know how dumb this is but do I have any recourse?

Edit to say: I am in fact retarded

Another iPega 9023S Not Working Post

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 07:28 PM PDT

Howdy. Just got this controller in today and, as the title indicates, I can't get it to work like it's supposed to. I followed the instructions, I Googled for some time proving once again to be worthless, I looked up videos on it and I still can't find anything for this particular issue.

Specifically, my Android Tablet DOES recognize and pair up with the 9023S. It shows up in the Bluetooth folder, instantly pairs up. The problem is it doesn't do anything after that. No button presses, no D-pad, none of the volume or Home buttons register. Nothing. I press Home + A and Home + X like all the instructions say and there's still just nothing. I try out games I have on it that I tested with a USB-wired controller to work with controllers and it doesn't recognize the controller at all.

I tried the controller on a different tablet I have that runs Windows 10 and it works like it's supposed to on there. It syncs up correctly and it plays the games as it should (though mapping the three buttons on the left is the only exception, but that's not really a big problem for me). So the controller does work, the Android Tablet does recognize it on Bluetooth, I've tried the different "modes" with the button combinations, but there's still nothing and I can't find anything on the internet that has been helpful or has this exact problem.

My Android Tablet is a K010 Lenovo Transformer (I think) Pad. The Android Version is 4.4.2. The Bluetooth version is B0_002.001.014.0122.0153.

How do I create a dead zone on my screen?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 04:19 PM PDT

Just updated to a new phone and the bezels are really small. When playing FPS games I keep touching the too left of the screen by accident and moving my character forward. I tried searching the Play Store but just got a bunch of games. I tried Google and just got a load of posts about broken screens.

Is there an app I can use to create a small dead zone there which won't respond to touch?

Remembering a Mining ship old game

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 04:11 PM PDT

Hi all! I'm trying to remember a very old Android game about a mining ship, the game was like a 2.5d platform where you pilot the ship, gather resource and progress with the story about an alien civilization or something similar.

Sorry for the lack of info but the game is quite old.

    Thanks a lot

    MMORPG Funny ?¿

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 03:21 AM PDT

Hello guys, I'm a guy who loves action adventure mmorpg games but now I'm forced to play on my phone because I don't have time for the PC. What do you recommend? I saw in some posts that speak well of the Shattered Pixel Dungeon. The games I find are all boring and repetitive, I want a game with progress.
