I'm considering samsung & apple as first choices, and I use a galaxy s10. Preferably high quality. I've also got a deeper voice and considering using a voice changer as that could be fun. | Android 11 won't save default Launcher Posted: 16 Oct 2020 09:47 AM PDT I have a Pixel 4XL running Nova Launcher. I am having issues with the phone remembering my default Launcher selection. Every time I hit the home button after a few minutes, it asks to choose how I want to go home. I always select Nova Launcher as my preferred launcher. | Posted: 16 Oct 2020 04:19 AM PDT Android 10 (April 10 security update). Using ES File Explorer 3.2 - I can't install APK files that I transferred to a new phone. These instructions do not work, because ES File Explorer (ES for short) is NOT listed in the list of apps at the settings for Special app access. So how do I enable ES to install unknown apps?
Details: New phone. I transferred my favorite 50 APKs via USB. I installed ES using the Files app. Files app DID ask me to allow Unknown sources, when I installed the ES apk. But after installing ES, I get no prompt to allow Unknown sources to be installed from ES.

| Whatsapp Web loses connection since Android 11 update Posted: 16 Oct 2020 11:13 AM PDT Ever since upgrading to Android 11, I've noticed the WhatsApp web and PC client constantly give me "Phone not connected" if my phone is idle for too long. I use the PC client all day long and have to unlock my phone and open WhatsApp every half hour or so in order to maintain connection. I thought it might be some new tweaks to background processes in Android 11, but I have Battery Optimization turned off for WhatsApp and it does not seem to help. | Asus Tablet display not displaying anything Posted: 16 Oct 2020 11:02 AM PDT I have a problem with my asus tablet, where if i try to start my tablet, the screen remains black. I went to multiple people that know how to fix devices, some of them said its the software but none of them can fix it! I am trying to repair it myself and i think i almost got its software restored, but because of my stupid brain a couple months ago i took out the paper from the back of the tablet that was saying its model so i cant fix it now. So I´ve been trying to factory reset it to bypass the lock/password, but I´ve tried power + vol up or down and it doesn't work, I also tried sony companion and software repair but I think it's worse than before now because it requests to log in to a google account this device previously had. | Posted: 16 Oct 2020 10:16 AM PDT I just got the Galaxy Tab S7 plus a few weeks ago, and I was wondering if anyone had a solution to this problem: It gets hot, even when I'm not doing anything. I just open it, and the bottom bezel, the ones near the pin connectors for the keyboard, becomes annoyingly hot. I got this as a sole equipment for school, and it really is amazing, and I really don't want to return it. But if this problem persists, I think I'll have to 😥. Every incoming call, even from known contacts displays as 'unknown' it's very strange as it's not a private number or anything, just unknown. I've talked to the carrier who thinks it's on my end I'm just not sure what setting to change or how to fix this! | USB drive not working as source for my Music collection Posted: 16 Oct 2020 03:28 AM PDT So I just got the new Pixel 5 and since that one doesn't have a microSD card slot (like my S10+ before), I'm using a USB-C to microSD adapter from Icy Box. It has a microSD card in it that contains all my local music. The adapter itself is recognized fine by Android as a USB drive and I can access all my files and music using several file managers. Now to the problem: I'm using BlackPlayer EX as my music player and selected my microSD card as the source for all my music and also gave the App all permissions. But it's not finding any songs. My initial thought was that it might be an issue with BlackPlayer EX, so I've tried different players as well (like PowerAMP), but all suffer from the same issue. Am I missing anything? This morning I got the October security update, but 10 minutes later my phone started getting very warm. So I took it our of my pocket and noticed the battery was already at 50%. I had just taken it out of the pixel stand not even one hour prior, so I think the update messed up my battery somehow? I plugged it in via USB-C and now it's at 35% so something is definitely wrong. I own a Changan Car (Chinese brand that offers somewhat budget cars in my country) and I'm in a bit of a pickle. Simply put, the skin on it is restrictive, poor, and absolutely dreadful to use and I'd rather install a few apps to make my life easier (Google maps, assistant, and Uber driver mainly) As far as the settings go, there's no way to get past the skin settings menu and into the android settings, however i did get there by accident when a pre installed app needed me to turn on the "install from unknown sources" permission but couldn't do much since after backing out it went straight to the app itself. Here's what i know about the tablet so far: Freescale dual core 1Ghz CPU. 2GBs of RAM 32Gbs of storage Skin is called In Call by Changan There's a system update screen that only accepts USB input, system version and MCU version are a mess of letters and numbers, couldn't find anything about them online. It has a limited file explorer, though it seems to only recognise music and video files but i haven't tested if it can recognise an APK file. Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |

| Can I recover data from an Android Phone stuck in Bootloop? Posted: 16 Oct 2020 07:47 AM PDT I bought a Huawei Honor 5C Pro phone 2 years back and so far it had been working well. Two nights back, the phone shut down because of empty battery and I slept without putting it on charge. The next morning, I started to charge it but the red light started blinking continuously for some time. Then, the honor logo was repeatedly flashing on and off without it reaching the lock screen.After every two or three times of flashing honor logo, it flashes emui with reboot,factory reset and clear partition cache options but it doesn't stop for me to choose any option. This bootloop happens continuously while it is charging and if I remove it from charging, it still bootloops and doesn't shutdown no matter what. It bootloops until all battery is drained and then shuts down. Only one time did it open while charge was 10% but after that, it shut down and hasn't stopped bootlooping. Unfortunately, the battery is not removable. Also, the problem is, when I put it on charge, for some time a red light blinks and then without any input from user, the phone switches on, boots to Honor logo and after every 2-3 honor logo flashes, it flashes to emui (with reboot, factory reset and clear partition cache option) but the screen immediately blacks out before I can choose any option. The morning it happened, after many tries, it did open once at 10% charge. But it again switched off and hasn't stopped bootlooping since. I don't care if the phone doesn't work. I just need the data stored on the ROM. If the phone can work, that's great but the data is more important. As long as the phone keeps charging, this boot loop keeps happening despite me trying to switch off the phone. When I remove it from charging, it still boot loops until battery is low. Please help me get back control of the phone or atleast recover the data stored on the phone's ROM. [link] [comments] |

Does this mean the gif was deleted from whatever site facebook pulls it from? If so, why doesnt facebook just save it to your messenger conversation when you send it like an image or something? The best use I made of it is around the notification system: everytime I get a notification on my phone it gets previewed on my band. My phone is usually on mute and I like it the way it is. My problem is that the mi-band application can't read notification from the work-profile installed on the phone. It would be really useful if I could find a way to make it work with that profile. Does anyone knows a trick or exploit that will allow my normal profile to detect notification from the work one? Even just the presence or absence would be fine. [link] [comments] |
