Posted: 31 Aug 2020 03:29 AM PDT I'm debating between pixel 4a and one plus Nord as there's a great deal for Indian version of Nord. It has 765g which should be fast for at least two years but I like Pixel's look better. Is pixel going to show its age by this time in 2021? My Moto x4 with 630 chip is plenty fast for daily activities but you can see the chip's age in frame rates even though I've used the phone for only an year. I just need 4a to stay smooth for an year and half. Can pixel 4a pull it off? [link] [comments] |

| Alarm keeps being displayed on home screen even if no alarm is set Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:58 AM PDT Edit: I mistyped that in the title. My problem is with the lock screen, not the home screen. I recently got a Cubot X19 with Android 9 on it. As the title says, it keeps displaying an alarm even if none is set. Other than the cases I could find through Google and Reddit so far, the displayed time doesn't change on its own, but rather remains that of the most recent active alarm. Deactivating all my alarms and even completely emptying my alarm queue changes nothing about the alarm displayed on my lock screen. I use the default clock app that comes with Android. Whenever I came upon a similar case where some solution had been found, it involved an app called Tasker which seems to not be present on my phone, even when I set my app list to also show system apps. I installed a COVID app that uses Google's Exposure Notifications System. Everything was fine for a few hours,downloaded a few apps,played around and stuff and got it down to 40%. Fast forward an hour and decided to try listening to some music and in the matter of 10 minutes it drained fully.We are talking it was dropping a 1% every 10 seconds or so.That was the factory charge.Now I put it at home to fully charge. I was using it as a daily driver until I got my new phone, and I just wiped it and handed it to my brother. He said he couldn't sign in, so I tried. I got a generic error message, so I tried my own account. Still nothing. I reflashed the phone with the ROM and a copy of OpenGapps Pico. Still didn't work. So I flashed it again, but with MindTheGapps this time. It still didn't work. My brother said he doesn't really need the phone and he'll get by fine without it, but I honestly just want to get the phone signed in for my own sanity's sake at this point. [link] [comments] |

| How can i modify a rom to take up less space? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 06:05 AM PDT So i had an old tab with 4.4 stock rom. Lot of programs were incompatible and there was lack of features. So i rooted and flashed a newer rom (7.x) But the problem is this tab has only 8GB space so when new Rom is installed there is very less space to install any apps. Are there any guides on net to modify a rom to take out some stuff? an additional question is, the flash file for both ROM (4.4 and 7,x) are both around 450 mb. In fact the old stock rom is actually a bigger flash file. I dont understand how is it that when the file after installing takes more space. [link] [comments] |

After I installed it it say system is corrupt then it said system is trying to boot into a new OS. It's stuck on the google logo and I didn't install TWRP. It's on a Pixel 3. When I take a photo and edit it with the Google Photos app, the original JPG in the DCIM/Camera folder gets replaced with the edited version. I can undo the changes later, and restore the original, full sized JPG file any time. Where are these original JPGs stored on my phone, and how could I access them directly in bulk? With previous Android versions this wasn't an issue because edits would be saved as separate files with a ~1 suffix. I actually prefer the current behaviour as it keeps my library cleaner for day-to-day use, but I still want my offline backup to contain the unedited, full size originals too. | Posted: 31 Aug 2020 08:15 AM PDT For the past week I've been having weird issues with my phone, 1-Some apps seem to use wifi while my phone is either off or in airplane mode I check my wifi usage some times and recently I noticed that some apps have continued to use wifi even after the phone was turned off like Firefox and reddit, same thing when turning airplane mode on and leaving it while I sleep 2-for about a week now my reddit app has been showing a "reddit servers temporarily down" pop up and logging me out of the app(which I later found out happens when I use the "log out all other sessions" thing on the browser) More over I've noticed that sometimes my account activity on reddit would show that logged on 2-3 minutes before I actually did(ex. I open the reddit on Firefox at 4:15 and it saws last login 2 mins ago), I've changed my password many times and enabled 2fa yet I still get these pop up that log me out of the app, even earlier today I got the pop up when reddit wasn't even open, I wa in the app store and it popped up there, I open the app and I'm logged out. After reinstalling and logging in 25 mind later I check my acc activity on the browser only to see a login from the app from an ip that has the same first 3 nbs as mine only with a diff 4th nb, so I look it up and compare it with my geo location and it's the exact same location. 3-when I check my Google account activity (all activity lines up with what I did) however some show to have happened from my phone others just say "android " mainly YouTube. So is my phone hacked or is this a bunch of unrelated events? The "hacker" does seem to be fucking with my account no changes in reddit history (altho there are some bugs with the saved posts disappear long from all but still showing on the browser) If it was a hacker is this activity even possible with a hacked phone? Edit : I factory reset some hrs ago and yet the reddit issues still persist, even got kicked out as I was editing one of these posts Also been having issues for a while with some notifications disappearing shortly after showing up [link] [comments] |
