COD Mobile’s success is encouraging Activision to bring more IPs on Mobile

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 06:41 AM PDT

On their recent Second Quarter Earnings Call, Activision-Blizzard has mentioned about COD Mobile's massive success. In Q2 2020, Call of duty Mobile has seen much better engagement and player investment, which might be an effect of the ongoing lockdown around the globe. And it seems that the current tailwind is in the favor of Activision-Blizzard as they are planning to bring more of the Activision's IPs on mobile devices in the future.

Not only Call of Duty Mobile but the Candy Crush franchise has also seen significant growth in this quarter. While the monthly active users remain higher each year, in Q2 2020, Candy Crush saw double-digit growth.

Following Call of Duty Mobile, fans have already heard about the arrival of Crash franchise on the mobile platform. Activision's beloved Crash franchise is entering the mobile segment with Crash Bandicoot: On the Run. The long-awaited Diablo Immortal is also set to start its internal testing next week after they revealed a new trailer during China Joy 2020. However, these are not everything. They are planning to bring more of the Activision's IP on mobile."There's a lot more to come on mobile too", as quoted by Dennis Durkin, Activision CFO. You can read more about the news here

[REQUEST] Recommend me a bad/p2w/freemium type game and I'll try to break it.

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 01:28 AM PDT

Hello, I occasionally try and break p2w singleplayer/fake-multiplayer games just for fun with various speedhacks, ram scanners/editors, autoclickers etc. Suggest me a bad, made for profit, freemium, idle, boring game from google play store and I see how hard it can be exploited. But not MMO type games that are entirely server sided.

    Games for an ooold tablet?

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 07:04 AM PDT

Heya, I got an old Tablet (Android 4.4). Is super slow, but good for basic stuff. I wonder if there are some light weight games that will run smooth on it, expecially I was looking for idles and tower defense games. If there is a good idle & tower defense game, that would be neat. But again, it should be a game that will run smooth even on toasters :D

    Recomend me some dungeon crawler

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 05:29 AM PDT

Hello everyone I would like you to recommend me games that have a similar fashion as Enter the Gungeon or something like that. Cuz Soul knight bored the hell out of me. So I want to see some more exciting stuff

    Key points: •Sci-fi •Dungeon Crawler •Fast Paced •Bullet Hell •Action •Roguelike?(I guess)

Games that includes things like that. Really bad ass and extreme gameplay. Highly action packed. Sci-fi guns.

    Searching for a medieval game

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 10:56 AM PDT

Really what I'm searching for is the game. I know it's a long shot but I used to play this game a while back (like I started maybe 6 years ago) but it's been a while since I've played it, and I can't seem to find it in my library. The icon of the game had this medieval troop (an infantryman I believe) and most of the actual gameplay was darker in colour. It was 2d and more cartoony than anything. I'm sorry if I'm being very vague but its what I can remember. Any help is appreciated, just feeling a little nostalgic for the game right now lol.

Update: Just found it :) it's called mini warriors, but they seem to have changed it a bit from when I last played it

    Android vs iOS gaming

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 10:54 AM PDT

Is it true that apps in iOS specially gaming apps, are optimised in such a way that the same apps in Android can never match the performance even on a top notch device? I have seen most pubg players playing on iphone/ipad. Of course this is a very narrow way to look into it that is why I wanted to know your opinion

[DEV] I've just released an endless fall game called Droplet. I remember playing Doodle Jump fondly back in the day, so I was heavily inspired to make my own. Is this genre still popular? Or have mobile gamers moved on from the novelty of the gyroscope controls? Any thoughts appreciated!

Age of Apes is a strategy game that makes you go bananas!

Humans are extinct and apes are taking over the world. Sounds bizarre, doesn't it? But that's what Age of Apes is all about. Developed by tap4fun, the strategy game is filled with elements that are both fun and crazy.

The player is put into the shoes of a monkey, whose main mission is to send a rocket into space to get bananas. To achieve this, the monkey needs to join a horde/faction and fight. There are six legendary hordes to choose from. Also, the monkey can manage an outpost, create his own army, and participate in wars between hordes. For instance, the monkey needs to fight other hordes to collect rocket components and other items.[Read More]

[DEV] I made a brainless tapping game, kinda like Stack

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 04:23 AM PDT

    Greetings,

I'm a IT student making mobile games in my free time to learn & strengthen my skills.

I just finished my second game and would like to ask you guys/girls for some feedback on it.

Why did I make this game? I decided to make this game primarily to introduce myself to some principles of programming games (such as shaders, gameloop etc.) & to learn the usage of frameworks like threeJS.

    The game (Spikes Rush): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stonks.spike

The inspiration for this game is the game Stack, as I like those brainless games where I can just tap the screen while I'm listening to my music. Mostly while sitting on long bus rides.

My first game (Stonks Pro): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stonks.app (I'm about to rebuild this game with new technologies, mainly to learn new stuff & because it is a bit laggy on older phones)
