| Apple AirPods notification / Google assistant? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:28 PM PDT I was wondering if anybody out there with Apple Airpods knows whether or not they are able to summon Google Assistant to get their notifications? I have a pair of QC 35 IIs with a dedicated Google Assistant button that I can click and it reads out recent notifications etc. Is there a a way to get similar functionality from the Airpods? | Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:22 AM PDT Okay, I'd like to start out with saying that I have Samsung note 10 plus. I really need you guys help. I'm not sure if it's something I did having installed the app Package Disabler, (and mostly disabling things that I felt were Samsung bloated apps) but after I did this and restarted my phone, the keyboard is missing. Now, I can't input my password to open my phone. I've Googled around and found some solutions, but they're all dated back in 2017 and things have changed since then. 1. using a wired keyboard or a micro USB adapter just to use it to access the keyboard part which would allow me to open up my phone since my phone hasn't a keyboard at the moment. 2. My only option now is the emergency call button. One suggestion was to dial #211 and that would miraculously do the trick. People were raving about that one, but then again that post was from 2017. lol! I tried it and got nada. 3. I even tried the wipe cache partition and that still doesn't work. I don't want to master reset my phone AGAIN. I just updated it, two ago. Do you have any other suggestion??? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Jun 2020 06:06 PM PDT I got this phone (Pixel 3a) a few days ago and I'm already having Wi-Fi problems. It's mostly noticeable on Twitter (Pictures and videos take a long time to load) and games, when they require to download an update, cause I tend to get the 'No internet connection' after a while. I do not have this problem when I use my data though. I also have a very old phone to check the Wi-Fi and, even though it's messed up, internet seems to work much better. So, I don't think it's my connection. What can I do to fix it? [link] [comments] |

| How can I change the notification sound for ONE app? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:56 AM PDT I want to change the notification sound for my brokerage app so that it breaks my ear when it price dips. I don't want to change every one of my notifications because I'd rather not have a heart attack over a Snapchat message. Is there a way that I can select one app and change its individual ringtone sound? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Jun 2020 05:22 PM PDT We have two phones in the household, both with MetroPCS wireless service and our home wifi. One is a Moto G5+ and one is a Moto G7 Power. The G5 has no network issues. The G7 has chronic messaging issues. The only app we're using for messaging is the default Messages app from Google. MMS messages often take 5-15 minutes to send, or won't send at all until we turn off wifi. SMS messages sometimes won't send either. When I say they won't send, they say "sending" for a long time, then say it failed. Sometime the only way to send multiple SMS messages in a row is to restart the phone between each message. It is frustratingly erratic, so we haven't been able to isolate conditions that consistently replicate the problem, but it happens often. Our carrier confirms that the settings are correct. The SIM card is pretty old and has some slight signs of wear, but they charge to replace it (ugh), so we haven't tried that yet. (If taking the phone off wifi sometimes fixes the problem, does that mean it's not the SIM card?) Moto is still updating Android for the G7, and the phone itself is fully updated. The phone was bought direct from Motorola and is out of warranty, so we'd have to go through their customer service if we decide it's the device. We've been thinking of switching carriers so might try that both for the new SIM card and to see whether the network was the issue. But is there anything else we should try? [link] [comments] |
| Can an android phone crash because of too many push notifications ? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:18 AM PDT Hi everyone!
2.Do you know if I can send 10 000 notifications to my customers on my app, or is there a restriction (for example : 1 push notif per minute or something) Thanks a lot! [link] [comments] |
| Bought a used phone, how to tell if there is any spyware on it Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:35 PM PDT Aside from factory resetting the phone, is there anything else I need to do to make sure there isn't any creepy apps or someone left their "lost my phone" app installed and somehow a factory reset won't remove it? I think those are called rootkits? This is a Pixel 3 xla and hasn't been rooted if that matters. It came factory reset, but I reset it again just to be sure. [link] [comments] |
| Recovering permanently deleted photos Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:44 AM PDT How do I recover photos that are permanently deleted? I don't have them in recently deleted anymore since they expired, I know there's a way to get them back but how? [link] [comments] |
| Sony Xperia XZ3 - Fingerprint option completely missing, no restart or noticeable cause Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:09 PM PDT Model: XZ3 I don't know what just happened. Suddenly my phone stopped registering my fingerprints altogether, and now when I go into my settings the option to use biometrics is completely missing from my phone. I didn't restart the phone beforehand and, aside from playing music on Spotify, I wasn't doing anything else on the phone. One minute I could unlock, the next, all traces of being able to use the fingerprint scanner have been completely wiped from existence from my phone. I have no idea what could have happened. Already submitted an email to support, but I'm completely lost. What the fuck? [link] [comments] |

| I upgraded my phone and now I have more ads? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:15 PM PDT I upgraded my OnePlus 3 to a OnePlus seven earlier this year. And suddenly I had alwayse two ads before YouTube videos instead of one every other video. Is this real? Did my switch just coincidence with an ad increase? Is there something I can do about that? YouTube is almost unusable for shorter videos this way. [link] [comments] |
| Customising Gboard on Android vs iOS Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:15 AM PDT Customising Gboard on Android I ran into a post from Mar 2019 about being able to customise Gboard 2.0 on iOS. Apparently you could choose any colour for individual keys, border colour individually, the trail colour for glide typing. [link] [comments] |
| Fastest way to transfer ongoing data from a Motorola to a Huawei P30? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:21 AM PDT Hello, there. I have a Moto G7 with tons of photos, videos and audio files and would like to know how exactly can i transfer that to a Huawei P30, without resorting to a factory reset. The P30 was broken for a few months, but was never reset. So, now i have it back with the data from the day it broke, and, as such, i would not like to delete said data so i can add the one from the Moto. Instead, I would like to know if there is a way I could simply mix them both together, since there is in fact a chronological gap between both phones' data and it would be perfect if i could fit it. | Are the cameras in low-end 2020 Androids "Good Enough"? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:41 PM PDT One of the biggest challenges with low-end devices has historically been the much-inferior camera. It's possible to get by with a slower CPU, less memory, and less/slower storage, but a poor camera is for many a tough pill to swallow, especially parents. In 2020, with new "low-end" devices, is the camera "good enough" now to suffice for even critical shots, say for new parents wanting to capture images of their family? I ask about relatively new or upcoming new low-end devices, such as:
Devices like these are "relatively" cheap ($200 or less, many available for a fraction of that when switching service.) Has the low-end camera evolved enough that it isn't really a big consideration anymore? And, further, how does Google Camera (and/or ports) change things? [link] [comments] |
| Can i recover a phone's files if the only thing broken is the screen? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:26 PM PDT It's an LG X Max. if you need more details, just ask! please, i'm desperate ;-; Also if flair is wrong please tell me to change it. [link] [comments] |
| What causes android process media stopped issue and is there a reliable way to fix it? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:23 PM PDT I've been encountering the issue put forth on my S6 Edge for quite some time now & with terrible regularilty. I'm warned of the issue & in the aftermath Gmail, Gallery & other applications shut down on their own, so to speak, I cannot open pdf files, there is nothing in My Files, I cannot play music or videos, I cannot take photos or videos, neither in Camera, nor by trying to send them directly by mail, MMS, Whatsapp or Viber, when I try to download a file in Chrome, it shuts down as well etc. After trying cache cleaning, restarting, shutting applications down forcefully etc. I have by sheer accident stumbled upon a miracle solution: I open Facebook & keep saving my profile picture, like 50 or 100 times in a row. Then I try to add photos (in Facebook) & either have access to Gallery & my media, or I don't & go back to the photo-saving method until I'm positive I have access to Gallery. Once I have it, everything else functions the way it once had. Which would seem to indicate that mine is a Gallery-mediated problem, however, it mostly occurs (as the warning followed by terrible effects) when I open my Gmail application. Be that as it may, for the first time, I'm truly unable to fix it. Yesterday I had a true urgency, but nothing worked. Nor my idiosyncratic Facebook photo-saving method, nor cleaning cache, nor restarting my phone, nor letting the battery die out & recharging my phone from scratch, nor resetting applications' permissions. What can I do? Is there a way to prevent this from happening again? I'm a foreign student in Paris with limited ressources & have to rely on my smartphone for everything a PC should provide me with, given that I currently lack one & that public services here have taken a great, Covid-19 mediated toll. Thanks in advance for your suggestions/guidance & best regards! [link] [comments] |

| Low opacity header that doesn't disappear? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:44 AM PDT I have some sort of see-thru header that keeps with my phone no matter which app or tab I open up. I see the header of one of my Whatsapp contacts, even when I click somewhere it shouldnt be appearing. It's verry low opacity, like 20%. I screenshotted it, but it doesn't come up on my computer, which makes me believe theres something wrong with my phone. Can it be the LCD, from dropping? [link] [comments] |
| Some questions about magisk and Root privileges Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:12 AM PDT Hey guys, I'm currently in a need to buy a new phone. I do not have many options where I live nor in general, though the galaxy Note 10 Lite has really caught my interest and I'm considering buying it. The thing is that I've been a longtime jailbreak user in the past, I love modding, theming and tweaking the overall user interface. I understand that Android in general has a lot more freedom than iOS, though I still find interest in rooting and think it can benefit me (even if little). Anyways I'm new to this and lack a bit of knowledge when it comes to rooting. So first of all it is to my understanding that the galaxy Note 10 Lite is rootable through magisk as it comes with the Exynos 9810 along with an open Bootloader. Just wanted to double check that if anyone can confirm. As for the rooting process, from a short lookup, the process involves first unlocking the bootloader (By tapping "developer options" 7 times and enabling "OEM unlock" afterwards), installing the magisk manager, download the device' firmware and extract the AP_(device name).tar (or Boot.img? Not quiet sure on this part), transfer the file to magisk and patch it, transfer the patched file back to the PC using ADB, and lastly flash it with either ODIN or ADB. Anything else that I should know before attempting? Is there any significant risk involved such as perm brick? With jailbreaking if anything ever goes wrong and say you end up in a bootloop, you can always just load the iPhone into DFU/Recovery mode and restore it back to stock. If say something gets corrupted during flashing or anytime the phone is rooted, would I always be able to restore to stock? The firmware file for the Note 10 Lite (SM-N770F) is not available here, is there anywhere else I should source it from? Is it possible to extract it straight from the device? I am not going to install a custom recovery such as TWRP as it's not supported by this device (and I do not expect it to be). From what I've read, custom recovery is not necessary for the process (also read somewhere that the developer of magisk actually prefers to keep the stock recovery for easier OTA updates). Should there be any issues with frameworks such as magisk and xPosed, and in general? just wanted to double check. That's all for now. I highly appreciate any help, thanks. [link] [comments] |
